I hate leaving this bad review. I have liked almost every person I met along the way with my TM experience and am not blaming any one person. I blame the company. I bought a new house so I could just move right in and continue on with life... But I've had to spend almost all my time and energy for almost 4 months on MANY things done wrong on the house! My advice to anyone who does buy a new Taylor Morrison home and find themselves with what seems to be a practice house for the beginner builders with no supervision (as it feels mine was) - my advise is: don't waste much time, stress, energy, health... trying to be patient and nice as I did... Because as they cont. to build new homes with lightning speed they'll jerk you around for months trying to do as little to nothing as possible on serious mistakes made on your house, not caring that your house is possibly incurring serious damage while they drag their feet. Worst of MANY issues: they graded the whole private Taylor M. owned street to drain to my house creating a pond of water saturating the soil 4.5 feet from my foundation. In the first attempt to fix it which took them 2 months to do from my initial request - they left huge gaps in the cement to allow all the water to seep into the soil 4.5 feet from foundation. (Very little slope from house to pond). They figured I wouldn't notice that actually made it worse! I lost my patience at that point! They also sprayed cement all over the back side of house when they redid that cement area and didn't tell me! Again - did they think I'm blind or too stupid to notice or I'd be too dumb or just a wimpy woman and I'd just let it go?! My advice to home owners is to give them a couple weeks then go to a higher level: a lawyer, the county code enforcer... After 3 months of being patient and nice waiting for them to fix the drainage problem, while we had record breaking rain and non stop rain in one of the rainiest places in the world... I realized it was just more of the same: nothing getting done, dinking around with people who don't seem to know what they're doing (based on the outcomes)... no action... Meanwhile they continue to build new houses all around with lightning speed but drag their feet/do nothing, about mistakes made once house is sold... 3.5 mo. after my initial request to fix the problem I finally went to the county code enforcer. I should have done that after 2 weeks of nothing being done! I've lost so much sleep, my health took a huge beating due to the stress... I wasted so much energy and time worrying, researching, taking photos and videos almost daily as the water almost never receded... The county engineer told the builder to report a plan to them in 5 working days. The deadline isn't up but I finally feel like someone who knows what they're doing (the county engineer) is going to have eyes on this and make sure it is fixed right! I pray no damage already occurred to my house. I was also patient and nice about the MANY other things done wrong on the house. Some required me to wait around at home for someone to come fix it, MANY I fixed myself with my own money and time! I also let a lot of cosmetic things go which most people never would have! Most people would have demanded they be fixed! No-one is going to say thank you for ignoring our mistakes and/or fixing them yourself! When it comes to risks to the foundation and therefore the entire house-I'm not going to just let it go! Nothing would have ever been done if I hadn't spoken up! They were perfectly fine with a huge pond of rain from the entire street directed on purpose to my house and forever saturating the soil close to the foundation in one of the rainiest places in the world! I really hate leaving bad reviews. But this has been handled so badly and it's not a light issue so I feel people should know.
