I'm soooooo happy with my Heritage Homes house! My sis and her hubby built the same house and I totally fell in love with it. So, they decided to build their own Heritage Homes house after seeing our neighbor's. Everyone at Heritage Homes was super friendly and helpful during the whole process of building my house. Butch L was like, amazing with his professional and communication skills. He was a total joy to work with and I heard others say he was a really great guy. Kristin was also super calming and friendly, she really knew how to connect with people. My sis even remembered her friendliness years later. I'm really happy with how my house turned out, the construction, materials, and finishing are all top-notch. It was so cool to see the hard work put in by the construction crews, they were so focused and got the job done really quickly and well. The bricking crew and flooring crew were especially skilled and worked their butts off to finish the job. Choosing Heritage Homes to build my house was such a smart and wise decision!

This company is a big no-no! They got so many hidden costs compared to other builders (you gotta pay for their builders risk insurance, they make you handle the water and power bills for over 6 months before they even need them, and you gotta do your own sitework which can cost you thousands of dollars, and so on and so forth). They're always delaying, lying, making excuses, and using poor quality materials and workmanship (the roof even leaked during construction after it was supposedly finished!). It takes them FOREVER to finish building your house (UPDATE: It's been almost a year since I signed the contract and it's still not done). They tell you it's gonna take a long time, but it takes them even longer! The guy in charge of construction, Butch L, is a constant liar who never returns your calls and drops the ball on important stuff (like getting permanent power hooked up), which just slows everything down. And he acts like he couldn't care less! They're always trying to pass the blame onto you and make it seem like it's your fault - even when it's clearly not! For example, they expected me to read and sign off on plans like I'm some kind of electrical engineer - how ridiculous! If you factor in all the hidden costs, you'd be much better off going with a custom homebuilder. You'll get a better quality house for a similar price and in way less time. The only good thing was Joe H, the Vice President of Marketing. He actually knew what he was talking about and was helpful at the beginning of the process. UPDATE: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They tried to pull a fast one on me with the paint. I paid a lot of money for an upgrade to Satin paint, but they were caught using cheaper Eggshell paint. When I confronted them with pictures of the paint cans, they said they'd fix it, but they only repainted half the house and left the other half in Eggshell. When I calmly complained to Butch L, he lost his temper and physically threatened me by lunging at me. He probably thought that would scare me off and I'd just give up on getting what I paid for. But he quickly backed off when he realized I wasn't scared of him (I can only imagine what he does to people who are scared!). This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable in business, especially coming from the person you have to deal with. I even took it up with the owner of Heritage Homes, but he basically didn't care and wasn't gonna do anything about it! And they weren't even gonna repaint the half of the house that was in Eggshell - I was just supposed to accept it with no refund! It seems like this is the kind of company they are, from top to bottom!
