Hi,

I am after advice for a possible claim against a parasailing firm.

I booked an excursion through Sun International, in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, (we are from Britain), which included quad biking, banana boat trip & parasailing. The parasailing trip ended with my 14 yo daughter and I being dragged underwater behind the boat for around 20 seconds not being able to breath. I have had advice from a parasailing instructor that as soon as somebody goes into the water, the captain should kill the engine. This did not happen and we both nearly drowned.

The company accepted responsibility but have only offered £100 initially which I declined, then £200, the cost of the excursion. They are currently refusing to cover the cost of my personal belongings (watch and sunglasses) that were lost in the incident, and not willing to pay any compensation for the near fatal incident and trauma that they put us through.

Is this something that should be pursued.

Any advice at this stage would be appreciated.
