Sun Communities – Poor management. Sun sent me a survey and this was my response.

In my seven years of being here at Walden Woods, Sun has only done what is necessary to keep the services to the residents. We have dead trees as well as many trees that need to be trimmed over the roadways throughout. The amenities are always breaking down. The North’s clubhouse is poorly wired, possibly against code, for the kitchen equipment. In Nov 2024 our community was on the extreme outter edge of two hurricanes inside of two weeks. When the county issued an evacuation order you shut down water and sewer to almost SEVEN HUNDRED homes occupied by senior residents, many of whom could not leave because of their age and disability. In addition, it left the community without any fire protection. Your manager and staff ran out of here like rats off a sinking ship. We have owners using their homes as storage facilities and not even living here. The generators and the equipment overall for the water and sewer systems is not working properly and Sun has known about the issues for over a year, yet nothing is being done to resolve them. Overall, Walden Woods is not a safe place for anyone over 55. Sun and its management listen with a deaf ear, only concerned about its bottom line.

Here we are almost one year later and hurricane season is upon us and Sun has done nothing to remedy any complaints or repairs. We can only hope we don’t have to be without water and sewer again this season.
