Steep & Cheap Excellent Customer Service!

I normally don't take the time to write a review but felt inclined to this time. I ordered a jacket that was too small for me and returned it with no problem. There was a hiccup with the total amount returned but Chris who took my call immediately corrected it. Chris was very professional and helpful in resolving my matter. Thanks, Chris and Steep & Cheap. Steep & Cheap What a deal on Costa sunglasses

I was skeptical but went to a store, tries on several Costa sunglasses and lens colors, discovered a style and copper mirror that was sensational, found the glasses on Steep and Cheap, orders them and got them in two days as represented. They were $268 in store I looked at and I paid a little over $75 dollars including tax and shipping. I got them today and they are perfect. I can't believe i saved almost $200 Unbelievable!

Steep & Cheap Easy ordering quick delivery of expected product

On April 24,2020 I ordered a NorthFace Thermoball Triclimate ski jacket after checking reviews of the jacket.
The ordering process was easy and the product arrived May 1,2020 although it was misplaced(wrong box) by the USPS so I did not get it until May 4,2020. The product was in excellent shape and exactly as It was pictured. I have not used it yet skiing so my review is for using Steep & Cheap. The price was much cheaper than any other ski jacket online outlet. I would absolutely use this company again. Whe ski season starts this coming winter I will review the jacket itself.

Steep & Cheap Awesome, awesome customer service!

I was completely skeptical due to these reviews; however, I bit the bullet and bought a few coats for my 4 yo son. And by a few, I mean five. Before purchasing, I chatted with a "gearhead" to tell him my situation about being between sizes, and he assured me I could return the items for free as long as it was within 30 days and in unused condition. I went to return the items - called customer service this time (no chat option) - and they were fast and super helpful. Returned the too big and wrong color coats for free.

Not only that - his Marmot coat is great! All the coats sent were great! I would definitely buy from them again. I don't think I'd want to go through the process of returning things every time, but when it comes to buying for kids, they made the process very easy.

Steep & Cheap I had good experience for the first 2 times when I

I had good experience for the first 2 times when I ordered items and used their hold for a week and buy other items for $1 shipping feature. However, my recent experience has been lackluster. I wanted to buy a small item but found that bicycle shipping charges were used eventhough the item was not even related to a bicycle. Since there was no phone number, I emailed them. Much time elapsed and by the time they replied, the item was sold out! I just got the flippant response, "better luck next time"... Then, I ordered a set to Kershaw knives. The order was confirmed and I held off shipping for a week so ship each additional item for $1. I then ordered a sleeping bag. On the day the item was shipped, I got an email that they had an issue with their inventory tracking and the knife set was actually sold out. So, I went to their website to check the status of my sleeping bag. It was shipped out BUT instead of the $1 shipping, I was charged the full price as it if I never ordered the knife set and they messed up on their end. Since they messed up on their inventory tracking, shouldn't they also give me the $1 shipping or give me the option to cancel the remainder of the order since it was revised without my permission? I only bought the sleeping bag for the $1 shipping deal, not if it would cost me the full shipping! That is poor customer service twice now!

Steep & Cheap Poor customer service

I'll admit that I made a mistake, but I did not expect such rude service. I ordered a kayak from Steep and Cheap. Being that it was my first time buying a kayak online I wanted to test it out on the cheapest of 3 kayaks I'll be buying this year. When it arrived scraped and scuffed I Shrugged It Off because I mean it's a kayak, it's going to get beat up on the river anyways, right? I looked it over for obvious problems and did not immediately see any. So I signed for it and through it the back of my truck and went out to the lake to test it out. When I went to unload it something just didn't quite look right and I noticed that the bottom had been crushed some in the center. So I called Steep and Cheap to see what I could do and was hung up on. So I called back and the guy put me on hold then told me since I signed for it there's absolutely nothing they could do. So I ask for a supervisor and he replied "no sorry, they're pretty busy people". When I asked if I could talk to supervisor again he said no but he will see what he can do and put me on hold. I was on hold for about 8 minutes and then it was disconnected.

Long story short I'm glad that we tested this on a cheaper kayak because I learned two valuable lessons. First I will never buy from steepandcheap or backcountry ever again and second, if I choose to go this route in the future if there is a single scratch it will be refused.
It's not that they wouldn't do anything for me that's the problem. It's how I was treated.

Steep & Cheap Customer service harassment

If you want to spend the next month checking your credit card company for fake refunds, and chasing their customer service again again again then buy from this Steep&Cheap store
Steep and cheap sent me a defective item
I sent them a picture of the defective item
I asked them to send a free shipping label
They agreed
They refund me the wrong amount
I told them it is wrong
The y lie
They harass you
They give you fake information
They harass you again
Like how?
One after another they repeat the same game
They pretend they don't know
Then force you to explain again
They make lies
Saying you pay the original "free" shipping
Just absolute nonsense
Harassment and lies, and yes i have names
Your charges are for the free shipping to your house
Your charges are free, but UPS charges you we didn't
They send you fake refund codes
Paypal says the codes are fake
They lie to you saying they will take care of it, they don't
2 or 3 days later, you will try all over again
I send the emails of the pre-authorization
They lie to you and say who is that who said that I dont know him
I sent them 10 to 20 emails repeating the same thing, only one each day
If you want to spend the next month doing that, then buy from this store
Fake emails fake excuses fake refunds fake codes
You will have to chase your credit card
You have to re-contact them to say the refund is fake
These are all the cooperators These are the customer representatives who harassed me

And Steep & Cheap makes sure you know exactly what you're getting with their super detailed descriptions and photos.

Now here's the catch: if you buy something and end up not liking it, you're gonna have to pay for shipping to send it back. Seems fair, right? But here's the sneaky part: that shipping adds to their volume with UPS, which means they're getting some sweet discounts on shipping overall (including for their parent company, Backcountry.com). Steep & Cheap Beware of Shady Pricing Tactics on Steep & Cheap: A Review

Okay, so let me tell you about Steep & Cheap. If you're into outdoor gear and accessories, you've probably heard of them. They've got some cool stuff on there, no doubt about it. But here's the thing - there's some sketchy stuff going on with their pricing.

I mean, I get it. Sales are a thing. But if you put something in your cart and wait a bit, you might notice some strange fluctuations in the price. And not the good kind of fluctuations, if you know what I mean. Like, you could be eyeing a sweet jacket for weeks, debating whether to pull the trigger. And then when you finally decide to do it, suddenly the price goes up because of some "sale". And then when the sale ends, it goes back down again. What the heck?

Steep & Cheap Steep and Cheap: Poor Checkout Experience and Unwanted Spam Emails

So, I thought I'd give Steep and Cheap (steepandcheap.com) a try. I saw something I wanted to buy for $20, but as soon as I clicked on "checkout," I was forced to sign up with my email. No guest checkout option here folks! Alright, I reluctantly gave them my email, but then I noticed something fishy. There was no subscribe/unsubscribe option. They automatically signed me up for their mailing list without my permission. Seriously, what the heck?!

I got my first email from them and it was pure spam. Not even any good deals or anything. Just your typical "buy this now" kind of stuff. Ugh. So, I messaged their customer service team and asked them to unsubscribe me. They said they did, but I still got more spam emails from them. I waited for 10 whole days before I had to take action. That's right, I had to submit a complaint to both the FTC and BBB because they just wouldn't stop harassing me.

I mean, honestly, is it really that hard to unsubscribe from these kinds of things in 2019? It shouldn't be! I regret trying to save $5 with this company and I'll never do business with them again. It's not worth the spam and hassle. Steer clear, folks!

Steep & Cheap Buyer Beware: Hidden Charges on Steep & Cheap Purchase

So, I wanted to share my experience with Steep & Cheap. I recently made a purchase on their website and was excited to receive my items. However, when I checked my credit card statement, I noticed that I was charged a few cents extra compared to what my bill stated. At first, I thought it was just a mistake, but when I contacted their customer service team, they explained to me that they do this to prevent fraud. I found it strange and honestly, a bit annoying.

Luckily, I noticed the extra charge because my credit card company sends me text alerts for every transaction. Who knows how many people didn't catch it and ended up paying more than they should have? It just doesn't seem right. I mean, I've shopped online and in-store for years and never had this issue with any other vendor.

Eventually, they did fix the charge, but the whole ordeal left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be making any more purchases from Steep & Cheap because I don't want to risk having to deal with something like this again. Steep & Cheap Steep & Cheap Shipping Policy is a Nightmare - My Experience & Review

Alright, so I had an experience with Steep & Cheap (steepandcheap.com) that made me wonder if I'd ever shop with them again. I ordered a kayak from them, which had to be shipped via freight, and had it sent to my job. When it arrived, it was only wrapped in plastic, and one of my coworkers signed for it. It wasn't until a few days later that I looked at it and saw that it was super messed up - scratches everywhere, and there was even a freakin' hole in the bottom of it!

So, I called up the folks at Steep & Cheap, and they told me that if I wanted a new kayak, I'd have to pay to send the old one back, and then pay shipping AGAIN for the new one. That's three times I'd have to shell out for shipping, and all for a $400 kayak. That's insane!

Personally, I'd recommend just spending the extra money to shop somewhere else that won't make you pay out the nose for shipping and returns. Ain't nobody got time or money for that kind of nonsense.

Steep & Cheap WARNING: Steep and Cheap's Overwhelming Spam & Frustrating Customer Service

Alright, listen up folks because I've got a warning to share about Steep and Cheap. If you decide to buy something from this site, be prepared for a bombardment of spam that will hound you until the end of time. I'm not kidding, every single email they send you will have an option to "Unsubscribe" but it's like playing a game of Whack-a-Mole because they just keep coming back. And don't even bother trying to get in touch with their customer service. They're about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

It's like the company is run by two people - one who packs your order and the other who adds your name to their never-ending email list. And god forbid something goes wrong with your order, because those two people won't have time to do anything about it. Good luck trying to get a response from them on their website or Facebook page. It's like shouting into the void.

Sure, they may have some decent deals on outdoor gear and clothing, but is it really worth it if you're constantly bombarded with spam? I don't think so. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. Trust me, your inbox will thank you.

Steep & Cheap Review: Steep & Cheap, the Outdoor Gear Discount Site - Not as Good as it Used to Be

I gotta say, when I first stumbled upon Steep & Cheap, I was all like "Whoa, dude, this site is dope!" I mean, killer deals for those of us who love to be out in the great outdoors? Yes, please! They were offering up brand spanking new products from the previous year's line for anywhere from 30% to 80% off! Now that's what I call a discount!

So, here's the dealio: they used to sell one item at a time for a super low price (seriously, it was nuts how much you could save). They kept selling it until they ran out of stock or a set amount of time had passed (usually an hour or so). It really was a win-win situation: we got rad deals and they were able to sell off their excess inventory.

But, now, as I sit here pondering, I can't give them the same high rating I would have two years ago. The discounts just aren't as good as they used to be, and the selection isn't as top notch either. Don't get me wrong, there's still some decent stuff on there, but it's all hella expensive for a discount site.

So, yeah, overall, I'd give Steep & Cheap a decent rating, but not a full-on five stars like I would have back in the day. Happy shopping, y'all!

Steep & Cheap Unhelpful Customer Service and Shady Practices: My Steep & Cheap Review

So, I decided to order something from Steep & Cheap and I wanted to make sure that I got the right size. I asked them about the size and they told me what "gearheads" said.

But when the item arrived, it wasn't in the original box, and the size was completely wrong! I was not happy about this, so I reached out to the customer service team. They gave me a shipping label for free so I could return the item.

But then, after I sent it back, I didn't receive a refund for the shipping or the tax. I tried to contact them about this and show them all the evidence, but they were not helpful at all! They basically ignored everything I said and just told me that it's not their policy to refund shipping or tax.

Honestly, this is so messed up! It feels like they're trying to pull a fast one on me, and it's definitely not something I'm going to stand for! I don't think I'll ever shop here again, or at Backcountry for that matter. It's just not worth dealing with such shady and unethical practices! So, my advice to you is to steer clear of Steep & Cheap and find another retailer that you can count on!

Steep & Cheap Mixed feelings about Steep & Cheap - Great Prices, but Beware of Hidden Return Fees

Alright, alright, alright. Let me tell you about my experience with Steep & Cheap. I was searching high and low for a red ski pant, and stumbled upon their website. Let me tell you, their prices are pretty sweet compared to other sites. Plus, I needed that pant ASAP for the coming weekend. So I paid a few extra bucks for the 3-day delivery, and guess what? They delivered it right on time. Kudos to them for that.

But here's the kicker - the ski pant didn't fit me at all. So, I had to bite the bullet and return it. Now, I knew there was gonna be a return fee of $6.99, and I was fine with that. But what really grinds my gears is that when they refunded me, they deducted the return fee from the item price that I paid, and then added back the sales tax. So basically, I didn't get the full sales tax amount that I paid them. That's messed up, man. Steep & Cheap, you guys need to get your act together. It's common sense to deduct the return fee from the total amount that I paid, and not the other way around.

Honestly, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I'll be making another purchase from Steep & Cheap anytime soon. It's a shame, really, because their prices are pretty killer. But if they can't get the basics right in terms of customer service, then what's the point? Save yourself the trouble, and shop elsewhere.

Steep & Cheap False Advertising and Poor Ethics: My Experience Shopping with Steepandcheap.com

Hey guys, I gotta tell you about my experience with steepandcheap.com. So, I found this website online and decided to do some shopping. I ordered 4 items and got a confirmation email saying I would get them in two separate packages. Cool, no problem. But then a few days later I go back to check on my order and what do I see? Only ONE item listed! What the heck, man?! So I call em up and give em a piece of my mind, and the customer service person tells me that they took 3 of my items off my order because the prices were too low. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. Like seriously, if you list a price you gotta stick to it, right? The manager even confirmed it. So yeah, needless to say, I won't be shopping with steepandcheap or their parent company www.backcountry.com ever again. False advertising, poor ethics, NOT COOL.
