Spur customer service

Today I walked into one of your spur 'silver falcon' in maponya mall soweto. I got a warm welcome from zandile she accompanied us to a the table with a smile and she brought us every material that we gonna need for our food.. As my husband and I still enjoying being in a restaurant busi comes and she request to take the condiments to another table our respond to her was we have not used any we still waiting for our food, she than told us that there are customers that already have their food! She took the condiments without even listening to what I was gonba say and left.. I called the manager lungile I even thought calling her won't I said to my husband let's leave this place but he calmed me. Nd we sat until we finished our food. Is this kind of treatment that we must recieve? Is this how waitress treat their customers? How many customers has busi mistreated with her stinky attitude? I'm a regular customer at your franchise or should I say restaurant i'm very disappoint. I doubt i'll ever go to spur ever again!

Spur waiter service

I am very disappointed in the service I received at Twin Peak Spur in Ottery.I'm very well aware that it was extremely busy yesterday due to it being Fathers Day.First of all the waiter seated us at about 10:50 and we immediately ordered our breakfast with him.We were a family 4.He was not even wearing your uniform and no name badge.He did not even introduce himself.He then brought us 4 forks only wrapped in 1 serviette.Then he brought us the order of coffee and orange juice.Both the cups were filled half way and the coffee was cold.He did not even bring spoons for the cup.I told him we needed spoons, he only brings one spoon that my wife and I are suppose to share (really).We constantly had to remind him about things.Where is the knives and forks, that eventually we asked another waiter and he brought it in no time.Our breakfast we only received at 11:45.He did not even bring the toast.I had to remind him about that as well.We had already finished our breakfast when he brought us the toast.I eventually sent the toast back and paid for my full meal.I was really disgusted, disappointed and angry that this is how you treat your customers.I will never set foot in that place again.Whether you guys do anything about it...I doubt it.

Spur smell of urine

Spur Sable square in Millerton cape Town, smells of urine from the moment you walk in the door.
When you ask the staff about the smell they shrugged it off saying that they've been inside too long to smell it.
It's not the first time I visit this branch and sure as anything this is not the first time it smells like an alley way.

Don't feel comfortable eating here.

Spur the bad service I have received and being billed incorrectly

I called the Silver cloud Spur in Port Elizabeth to arrange my daughters Birthday Party as we are Loyal customers and we have their Birthdays at the same Spur each year for all of our kids. I even went to Silver cloud Spur myself after iv called to confirm the booking for 3pm on Saturday 09 June 2018 not only did i have to look for the waiter several times. The play room staff was rude to the party kids, the kids did not even receive their ice cream at all. After i had paid the bill which was wrong as i was over charged I still had to ask for the Party boxes which was due to me. I am extremely disapointed and was so very embarrased because of this disaster. The party boxes which i have waited so long for them to prepare only then when we were on i way to leave, consists of a finger toy and a string of 3 stickers. When i got home i told myself that im going to call the Manager the Monday and tell him about my complaint he promised to call me back and i have never heard of him since. Silver Cloud Spur is Disapointing and that comes from a loyal client for the past 11 years.

Spur take away from spur king shaka airport was packed very poorly

Take away from Spur King Shaka Airport was packed very poorly, it was a combo meal as per pics attached. This happened on the 7th June in the evening. I had just landed from a flight from JHB, and ordered my supper from the Spur, and was extremely dispapointed when I got home to see what my supper ended up looking like. It did not look appealing and is not what I am used to getting from Spur.

Spur product, service and branch manager attitude

I would like to bring to your attention that last night, my family and I visited Golden Feather Spur, in the hope of enjoying Iftaar at Spur.

We arrived at 5.30pm, immediately the waiter, Albert arrived and took our order, I ordered a crumbed mushroom starter and 3 Burgers - 2 Texan Burgers and 1 Grilled Chicken Burger.

Now, here's where I start getting goosebumps, when The Branch Manager walks past my table 3 times with dates, looks at my daughter who is wearing a burqah and not mention I am in Hijab, instead he places dates on the opposite table, where without a doubt the family is of a different religion, evidently, all this just before Iftaar.

He does this 3 times...

I then, decide to ask the waiter for a few dates, so my daughter and I can break fast whilst my husband was preparing to make Namaaz.

Never the less, we were seated at Table 10, another Family walks in at 5.40pm and is seated behind us at Table 7.

There were people swarming in continuously with a table of 11 -12 people sitting directly opposite us, my starter arrived at 6.20pm, after I called the waiter and complained, everyone else around us had consumed or started their main courses, I called for the manager twice, with no luck.

Now, patience I do have, specially during Ramadaan, however, what transpired last night, was inexcusable and nobody's patience should be allowed to be tested in this manner.

At 6.15pm, my husband says lets go, I refused, as I am already waiting, why should I leave now? when my daughter still has not eaten and she was so excited to break fast at Spur.

The family behind us has still not received their main course and they were a family of 4.

With all of them starting to really get edgy, the lady and I both go to the front desk to enquire? With no comfort?

Never the less and 6.25pm, I tag on the manager's shirt and ask, where our order was and the family behind us, as its been over an hour with larger tables arriving way after us, and all other tables in our vicinity already leaving, who has also arrived after us.

Finally, it arrives, however, the manager, he does not apologise, nor does he show any remorse, what so ever, kasam, he should not be running that business as the family behind us at 6.40pm, only had 1 burger meal arrive at their table, with 3 meals outstanding, yet the manager is unable to resolve any of our complaints - he was way in over his head.

He was more focused on his other customers with different ethnic backgrounds - I encourage anyone to retrieve the CCTV footage, we are all seated behind the front desk - at 5.30pm onwards. # check him walk past my table 3times with the dates.

Its absolutely shocking that he is entrusted with running that business and its contents, people and customers.

Lucille, the waiter, apologised often and said that the waiter was new? mmmm, how does that help any of us? The manager failed the waiter and himself by not setting this guy up for success, this guys should never ever have been given so many tables to try and serve as he ruined our IFTAAR, the family behind us IFTAAR too, it was horrific and a huge dissapointment!

The Branch Manager made things worse!

So at 6.45pm, we decide to leave, with the Family behind us, still not receiving their meals.

My bill was R330.00, the Family behind us their bill was R 600, (which they never paid) Spur lost the sale. All our intentions was to eat, enjoy the meal and pay.

Again, with the branch manager not apologising to me once throughout my issues.

I paid the bill, extremely dissapointed and hugely let down, I am without a doubt expecting a full refund for what transpired last night.

I took the family's number and name of the wife, of the table behind us - Shihaam - [protected].

One fasts whole day and there is no greater pleasure than breaking one's fast with family and friends and then enjoying the Iftaar meal.

I, too am in the Fast Food Industry, and never, ever would I shy away from ensuring that my customers leave happy, nor would I merely wish it away, there is a hidden gift in every complaint, and I do believe your manager failed to see this.

Spur food and service

My daughter's birthday was on the 26 may 2018 saturday that passed. It was very disappointing because no voucher was loaded on the kiddies' spur card, my daughter didn't get her free meal. I then asked the waiter if I can get a kiddie's chair for my 1 year and 6 month old and if he could provide me with crayons and coloring paper, guess what they had no chair, no crayons, no coloring paper. My husband orders a double burger (1 beef and 1 grilled chicken) with chips and onions on the side both burgers was burnt. My daughter ordered the chicken crumbed burger which was not crispy/crunchy it was like the burgers wasn't cook properly as if it had a wet doughy taste to it. I ordered the steak and prawn dish, the steak was burnt, and the prawns was not cleaned properly, my year old had the grilled chicken strips and chips which was very nice. I spent almost r500.00 at sables squares spur in milnerton and have never been more disgusted with my order and service we received. We go to spur often and make a point at going for all our birthdays or every other saturday but saturday that passed just makes me sick to my stomach one thing for sure I will never go back to sable squares spur again.

Spur product

We were having dinner at the cahokia spur and my boyfriend ordered the rib burger upon cutting into it, it was undercooked we send it back and was given another rib burger and guess what? Yet another insufficiently cooked rib burger. The manager suggested something else of the menu but his appetite was already spoilt so we opt to leave. This was the first visit where I left spur dissatisfied.

Spur racist service experienced

To night at around 18.00hrs we decided to go to the Spur in Port Alfred, we were shown to a table and was told a waiter would be with us shortly, after waiting about 15 minutes I noticed a black family been shown to a table and their waiter served them straight away, now we had been seated before them however they were served before us, I the called the manager and showed him this and he was not to perturbed about the situation so we left.

this is blatant racism on the part of the Spur and there staff.

I have not been into a spur in about 6 years and thought of taking my wife to the spur for supper as we are on holiday in Port Alfred, well what a mistake and I will never set foot in any spur ever again and will never recommend anybody go to any Spur Steak House.

Spur chicken cheddamelt schnitzel

I ordered a Chicken cheddamelt schnitzel with creamy garlic sauce. What I got was not what I was used to. Dry chicken with a slice of processed cheese melted on top. I'm originally from South Africa and spent many wonderful nights at spur enjoying their delicious food. This was so disappointing.

Spur wrong order received

Good afternoon, i am not one for complaining but because this is happening on one or more occasions i have had enough as i am paying extra monies for orders been incorectly charged.My family and i go on a regular basis to the Red Hawk Spur for the Monday special, on Saturdays the breakfast, and on Sundays lunch.On the 24 th March my family and i went to the spur, we ordered half portion chicken Schnitzel with creamy cheese prawn, a chicken and mayo sandwich with a large chips, two kiddies waffles, a goodie burger with top up of buffalo wings(8)a 400g chips and Ribs, two cocktail fruit shakes, and two chocolate milkshakes, when the bill came i was charged for a full portion of chicken schnitzel difference of R40 already, there was a take away ribs on there as well, but we sat and had ribs, we were charged for 3 cocktail fruit shakes, had to be for two chocolate milkshakes and two shakes, the large chips came with no sandwich, we were so angry we just left everything and paid, but asked for the take away ribs which were charged for, it was really bad we left thinking should we from know on go to another Spur close by, we spent R690 that day.i paid R290 from my debit card and my son R400 from his.On my slip is IN0014764 CO 0069159 AT 16H44.

Spur spur ribs

I have been going to spur since I was a kid and 30 years later still find myself sitting looking at the menu and I so badly want to order the ribs. See having the Spur ribs was a tradition in my family, it was the highlight of the outing. I however get reminded time and time again by my wife that you dont like the ribs anymore... Sadly this is the truth and I order a steak instead. Spurs ribs now seem to be mass produced and precooked giving them a strange texture and toughness. Why in goodness name would you have changed something that wasn't broken. Please can we have the old spur ribs back ASAP. I have to get my ribs fix elsewhere now a-days.

Spur staff noise

I visited the Spur Restaurant branch in Strand Street, Cape Town, South Africa for breakfast on the morning of Tuesday, 20 March 2018, between 09h00 and 10h00. I appreciated the friendly welcome at the entrance to the restaurant and being seated promptly, also the waiter who attended to me and meal that I received. However, this particular morning the staff who prepared the food and some of the waiters were very noisy. This included laughter with abandon, loud speaking without any consideration for the customers and at one point the sound of the music, which was already loud was turned up for a while without any particular reason. What was of particular concern was the lack of respect for customers and by implication the manager. Normal communication between staff can be understood, but if the main source of noise in a restaurant becomes that which is generated by staff, then this practice and the question of respect for customers should be addressed, which will enhance the service rendered by Spur and lead to greater customer satisfaction and patronage.

Spur poor service, irate customers

Good Afternoon

Visit to San Francisco Spur, Strand yesterday, Sunday, 18 March 2018.

My 92-year old Mother and I arrived just after 12h00 to a rather empty restaurant - we were seated against the window and given menus.
As we were handed only the senior menu, I requested to see the normal menu from another server - eventually I had to get up and collect it myself!

We had taken our own wine and were just waiting for glasses and ice...
eventually at around 12h25 we were given glasses and ice.

While we were making up our minds as to what we wanted to eat, another, very irate customer behind us got up and wanted to know when they were going to be served - from what I could gather they had already ordered their food.

My mother and I placed our order around 12h40 - only to receive our food at 13h30, which I find completely unacceptable as we only ordered the senior ribs and the wings & mushroom combo from the senior menu, nothing too complicated!

While we were waiting for our food, another party of 4 came in and sat down two tables ahead of us - they were there for about 20 minutes when one of the ladies asked when they were going to be served.

Then, another party of 3 came in and sat opposite us, and after about 20 minutes as well, the lady got up and went to ask when they were going to be served.

All this time there was no manager to be seen and while we can understand this to happen when the restaurant is full, we fail to see how a half empty Spur could affect service so badly.

The quality of the food was mediocre at best, the lady behind me had to send her chicken back as it wasn't cooked through properly - our food was cold but by that time we were so hungry that we just wanted to eat.

If the restaurant was full, one could understand that the kitchen staff is under pressure, and that mistakes happen but the restaurant only started filling up when most of us were leaving...

As regular Spur customers, we really want to bring this to your attention as eating out is a luxury for most of us and we would like to have an enjoyable experience.

Spur manager: drunk and aggressive with staff.

At the Spur in Kempton Park corner Dann rd and another main road myself and colleagues stepped in for late lunch. Manager on duty. Tall thin man. Very short hair was rude. Abrupt and defenitely under the influence. He was firing somone for being drunk on the job which i found odd. As he was reeking of alcohol himself. He constantly took smoke breakes. And was unsteady on his feet. We didnt even eat our meals. We just paid and left.

Spur spur cape gate serves sour food with plastic and hair

My experience started on 27 Dec 2017, my husband and myself decided to go for a good meal at Spur Cape Gate as we were both super tired and did not feel like cooking... I had the T-Bone Steak and Wings Combo, as I was eating I came across a piece of plastic in the meat I was chewing! I brought it under the attention of the waiter who apologized. The manager also came to say "Sorry about that, these things sometimes do happen!" I told him its fine. Two days later 29 Dec 2017 my son, my husband and myself went to Spur Cape Gate for Breakfast. We ordered, got our drinks and when the food arrived we found hair in the scrambled eggs, again the manager came and apologized and said that the kitchen has been ordered to make a fresh batch of scrambled eggs and that was it! Last night 15 Jan 2018 we decided to take our son out as School will be starting tomorrow! Again I ordered the T-Bone Steak and Wings, My Husband the Mowak Combo and My Son a Chicken burger... As the food arrived I got and offish smell and thought maybe somebody was cleaning the bathrooms as we were seated close to it. But as I continued the smell became more potent. I told my husband that something was not smelling to good and asked if he was getting the same smell. He told me yes and that someone may be cleaning the bathrooms. As I took a bite of the Steak I realized it was OFF! and that it was the steak that was smelling so bad! I called the manager and he took the plate from me and said: "I'm sorry, sometime the meat on the 21 day cycle is missed, but we will prepare you a fresh meal if that is okay with you? and have it out as soon as possible" I agreed and waited. By the time my husband and son finished their meals I had still not gotten a fresh meal! We called our waiter and told him that I no longer want the food as my family are done eating and ready to leave so he could bring the bill. The manager did not even bother to return to the table to apologize for the replacement meal taking a half hour! 30 MINS! I was so upset! I told my husband that I never want to eat at Spur again. The level of service received was not up to standard i am really disgusted by

Spur customer relations

It is sad to read all the bad reviews about spur on here as well as hello peter. What is worst is the fact the these consumers get no replies.in a world where businesses budgets are based on amount of customers in the door I find it very strange at the way the spur group is dealing with their best marketing product, the customer.

I am blaming we as the customers for this. Why do we allow big businesses like spur... Absa... Telkom... Fnb... Just to name a few to get away with this... We have the power to bring huge companies like this to its knees.

If they dont give a damn about our complaints why do we choose to support them.. We getting more upset and they getting richer... Its time people to take a stand. This is utterly unacceptable behaviour.

Really... Not replying to the consumers who express their disgust in your service.. Hoping its only a few and the rest will ignore. Well, my mission for the next few months will be to express my disgust in your behaviour on every social media platform that I can get hold of. This has gone on far too long... And big businesses like you is getting away far to long..

So... By all means ignore this post like you have been ignoring many others before this and the many other hello peter complaints... But rest assure I will be reaching out to many others like me... Ill go on a ban campaign against you and others like you.. My voice wont be silenced.. It will be heard by millions on social media... After all... Its the millions of people out there that makes you your millions.

Spur products

We had dinner at Lone Hawk last night, 5th of Jan 2018.

Firstly: Found pieces of plastic and paper in the special "blue" lemonade drink which you advertise currently.

Secondly: My child and his friends' pizza was horrible dry and the burnt crust pieces were cut off.

Thirdly: Ordered a Pecan Nut Sunday, received an ice-cream with no Pecan Nuts in. Sent it back and received a dessert with Pecan Nuts in and it looked like half chewed cherries in the middle bottom of the dessert. It was so gross, I could not finished my dessert when I found these pieces of cherries.

Spur service

The Spur at Umhlanga Sands do not care about new customers walking in. We walked in and about 7 staff members were at the counter busy with who knows what. Nobody looked up or even greeted us. We had to physically approach them to ask for assistance even though we stood just in front of the counter! One would expect that Spur is grateful for customers these days, clearly not. Wont go again, would rather drive somehere else than stay in the resort and make use of Spur.

Spur food we received from spur in plumstead, cape town

We purchased a kiddie beef burger meal and a starter calamari and spicy wings combo on Thursday, 30 November 2017. I was appalled to see that my sons burger was just a burger and a roll... no lettuce or tomato on it or any toppings and my spicy wings still had its feathers on there. I have attached the pictures of the burger and the wings for your easy reference and I look forward to hearing from you regarding this appalling food from the Spur in Plumstead, Cape Town.
