Boy! so I wish I'd read these reviews before I ordered a lilac on 5/20. My Visa was charged the next day but so far, after 2 phonecalls, it doesn't appear to have even been shipped! 7 days ago, the person on the phone told me it would be delivered by June 12th at the latest. Today, a different person said it would be shipped on June 15th? When I asked to have the order expedited, the person seemed confused and said she would escalate my concerns that I had had no communication from them, and no expected *** shipping info. We got cut off, and lo and behold, the person actually called me back. When I asked for her supervisor's name to be able to discuss my concerns over not being able to track my order, she didn't seem to know who that was altho she did give a name. When I checked the call back phone#, it was from Morristown, NJ! not Harrison, Ohio where I am now wondering if the Spring Hills nursery actually exists? Now, it says on Order status, it is shipping on 6/15. Oh, me of little faith, I'm not holding my breath. Just noticed the above restriction: "10 word minimum"! So far..1 star I would appreciate some form of communication and a tracking #.

Spring Hill Nursery I ordered plants on March 31 and received a confirmation and was told that the plants would be shipped April 20

I ordered plants on March 31 and received a confirmation and was told that the plants would be shipped April 20. After many phone calls of inquiry, that resulted in waits of 30 minutes, on May 7, I e-mailed to ask for an update. I still did not hear from SHN. I made phone contact with a customer service supervisor on June 1 and was told that she would check on my plants. On June 2, she sent an e-mail that my plants would go out in 3-5 days and to allow 7-10 business days to receive them At this point, I asked that my money be refunded. As I had payed with a check, which was cashed in early April, I requested a check refund. I was told that it would be processed in 7-10 business days. I waited 14 business days and on June 19, I contacted customer service and asked again for my refund check. On June 20, the Customer Service supervisor assured that she was contacting their Accounts Dept. and my check would come in 7-10 business days and that this would be confirmed with an e-mail when it was mailed. So far, I have had no confirmation and no refund. My order was over $86.00. I would not advise that you not buy from SHN, and if you are ordering from SHN, always pay with a credit card, perhaps a refund would handled more expeditiously. I've bought from several on-line nurseries and have never had this experience.

I ordered a meyers Lemon tree from Spring Hill Nursery.com on 5/19 because our local nursery was out of this product. I tried to cancel the order on 5/26, but the cancel button brought me to an error page. Costumer service was impossible to reach as their email will send an auto reply while no one will pick up the phone. After a few attempts, I finally got to talk to an indian accent male named "John" on 5/27. John informed me that I can not cancel due to item already processed for shipping on 5/26. I figure I will just keep the tree. My item on the status page was marked shipped as I checked. There was no tracking number for my order and the "estimated shipping date" continue to change every day though it was already marked shipped. I called again on 5/30 and "John" answered again and told me that "because the lemon tree was shipped directly from their vendor, there is no tracking". John also did not know what their vendor's name nor business info. Furthermore, John informed me that the shipment would take about 2-3 weeks. I understand the shipment delay due to pandemic 2020, there is no reason why a good seller fail to provide tracking information on a $100 product. This says a lot about this seller's integrity. I hope this review can help some of you stay away from ordering from this website again, I will also file my complaint against this company on

Spring Hill Nursery I will never order from this nursery again as they do not live up to their claims of "world class" c

I will never order from this nursery again as they do not live up to their claims of "world class" c.s. I ordered 7 Blue Jangles Hydrangeas for $179 and received them in Sept. 2019 for fall planting. They arrived in boxes with dried up leaves and the soil was also dry. Contacted SHN at once with pictures attached to the email to prove the poor conditions of each plant Was told they would probably be fine if properly planted and cared for. Well, all but two survived. I called c.s., and that resulted in SHN sending 5 replacement plants, which I, in turn, planted in the bed reserved for them. In April, all plants emerged except one. I have been trying to get it replaced for months. Finally, today, June 19, c.s. said they would send a replacement in Sept. 2020 (around the 10th.). Prior to this last phone call, I had emailed several times, but no replacement was even considered. SHN agents wanted me to keep waiting for the dead plant to suddenly come to life and grow the 6 inches the other plants had attained. That would have been a miracle. Agents are ridiculous and aren't really interested in doing what is promised by the No Risk Guarantee. I have been a gardener for years, and I have never had such a prolonged and difficult time working with any other nursery. This will be my last time ordering from SHN. There are too many other excellent and efficient nurseries to which I will steer my dollars.

Don't buy from this place. I ordered on April 10th and today is 5/8. My confirmation stated that i would receive my items betwen 4-21 to 5/5. Now the delivery date is 5/17-5/31. Ive sent emails, they don't reply for several days. They are saying due to Covid. Really? Thank you for contacting us. I am very sorry for the delayed response to your email. We are working very hard to respond to emails as quickly as possible. While shipping schedules across the country are being affected by COVID-19, we are still shipping orders daily. As you can imagine, however, the health and safety of our staff is a priority, and measures like social distancing do affect the efficiency of our fulfillment center. With that in mind, we ask for your patience and understanding as some ship dates may change unexpectedly or be delayed. However, we are confident that your order will be shipped. Let me preface this by saying I work in the flower business, and I handle sales of plants personally every single day. I generally know how the business works, so I have a bit of a bias in that regard, but I'm looking at this from the high standards that I view this from.I'm pretty disappointed with the entire situation. They have a nice website, a seemingly good selection, and all the bells and whistles seem to work, but when it came to actually delivering (metaphorically) they truly dropped the ball. I ordered a *** Blue hydrangea from them; it was a four inch pot, small plant, supposedly dormant, for 30 dollars(plus shipping), so it turned out to be about 40 dollars. The plant shipped in the timeframe the said it would, which is great, and it arrived earlier than expected, which is also good, but it arrived in a state far below the standard for which a 30 dollar price point for that size plant should be. The box was far too large, and the plant had ZERO protection, so it tumbled around in there during transit with nothing to keep the branches or new growth from just snapping off (and they did). It arrived in a less than ideal state, even for a small plant coming out of dormancy.After bringing these things to their attention I was served with a cut and paste response, with no acknowledgement of the things I said in my feedback, which basically amounted to a very unsatisfying sorry, and a 10 dollar credit to a future order. 25% off another pitiful plant? I consider that to be wholly inappropriate considering I'm a first time, and now a last time customer. If you cant make it right on the current order, I don't know how you think I'll have the confidence to make another one. This is truly a tragedy, but the only silver lining is that the plant is seemingly going to live, albeit in a sad and pitiful state.

I simply could not buy something because my registration, log-in and sign-in process failed...repeatedly. As I was failing to get an account, Spring Hill kept sending me advertisements, notices that I left something in the cart or specials on shipping. Here is the FOREWARNED and FOREARMED - my internet security software blocked all the advertisements as potential malware, attempts to install a malicious file; invalid security certificates...sufficient to say, either Spring Hill is or has been hacked or the 3rd party call center imports tracking & spyware. BEWARE of ads from Spring Hill and their call center. I asked for my complaint to be escalated to a supervisor, someone on shore but the call center failed or refused to do so. Four different ads, four different urls, same warning from my internet security*** Your connection to this web page is not safe due to an unmatching security certificate. This means that the certificate was issued for a different web address than the one it is being used for, and you run the risk of exposing your data by accessing this page. and another of 13 blocks: Infected web page detected February 19 at 9:24 AM Feature: Online Threat Prevention We blocked this dangerous page for your protection: Dangerous pages attempt to install software that can harm the device, gather personal information or operate without your consent.

Spring Hill Nursery I ordered over $200 worth of plants at the end of March

I ordered over $200 worth of plants at the end of March. They were estimated to ship the first week in April. I didn't receive the plants, and checked my order status on their website. The estimated ship date had been pushed back a week -- and many of the plants I ordered that were in stock when I placed the order were suddenly now on backorder. They did NOT send me an e-mail to let me know of the delay - I only found out because I looked into it myself. So I kept checking my order status every few days, and each day the ship date kept getting pushed back. I tried to call them, but their phone number doesn't work! I e-mailed them but didn't get a response for weeks. I tried to access the online support on their website but it was not functional. Finally I got an online customer service rep who said that shipments are being delayed due to the coronavirus. I told them that I understand, but that 1) I have ordered things from many other companies during that time and they haven't had such significant delays, and 2) that at the very least their customer service should get in touch with customers to let them know when a shipment is being delayed. I asked them for a guaranteed delivery date and they could not give me one, but they gave me a 10% discount. Fine. Now it is May and my estimated shipment date is pushed back again to late May (again, with no communication from the nursery). Again, after several tries, I was able to get an online customer service rep, who blamed it on the coronavirus and weather. The rep told me that their "estimated ship dates have so far been accurate," but that is a flat-out lie -- when you keep pushing back your ship date every day and cannot guarantee that the plants will ever be delivered, that doesn't seem "accurate" to me. When I placed my order, I was told my plants would be ready to ship in early April. Now they are still not ready to ship, and plants that were in stock at the time of my order have been put on backorder. I asked again for some confirmation as to when the items would be shipping, and they were unable to give me that, so I cancelled my order. Look, I know that the coronavirus crisis is making things really difficult - but if you purport to be open for business, you should be acting in a business-like manner and responding to customers who have concerns. If this crisis is making it impossible to do your business, then shut it down and stop taking orders. Don't promise what you can't deliver. I would advise others never to order from them, no matter how pretty their catalogs.

Spring Hill Nursery On 5/18, I ordered a smoke tree and set of 3 Firefly Solar Lanterns

On 5/18, I ordered a smoke tree and set of 3 Firefly Solar Lanterns. Order arrived on 5/30. Opened package, one of lanterns was broken and wrong tree sent, (Dusky Maiden Smoke Tree). a substitution was sent without my consent. I phoned customer service on 5/30 to report my concern. I was told that the solar lanterns were sold out and a refund would be issued 3 to 5 days. I was told not to return the items. Plants, a perishable item, is not returnable item. I was also told that I would receive the correct smoke tree type ordered in 7 to 10 days. But I received an email saying, I would get the Golden Spirit smoke tree 09/15. I cancelled the smoke tree order. I received a replacement certificate in the mail dated 06/01 for $26.80 for the Firefly Solar Lanterns and not my money as told by customer service. I don't want a replacement item, because if this company doesn't have it, you are sent a substitution. If the business doesn't have the items ordered by the customer, then don't process it as being available. I am referring to the Dusky Maiden Smoke Tree, that I didn't order at all. I will never order anything else from this business. I am sorry that I didn't read the customer reviews before ordering from this business. I tried resolving this issue before filing this complaint. I have phoned customer service 3 times. I am seeing that this company doesn't believe in customer satisfaction.

Spring Hill Nursery On 4/23 I ordered 10 *** trees; on 5/07 I ordered an additional 10 *** trees

On 4/23 I ordered 10 *** trees; on 5/07 I ordered an additional 10 *** trees. Out of the 20 trees 7 failed to survive. In August I contacted Spring Hill to have the trees replaced, they said they could not replace them until the spring because I had ordered in the spring. The customer service said issued two separate replacement certificates even though I told them several times I didn't want a certificate I wanted the trees replaced. Customer Service advised me to call back Feb/Mar of '22 and have the certificates cancelled and request the trees be replaced. I contact them last week (Mar '22) and was told I had to purchase the trees with the replacement certificate that they couldn't cancel the certificates and just replace the trees. As I tried to explain again what I was told I was hung up on. I then resorted to contacting them via e-mail since their "live chat" was not working. I received an email (below) on Fri 3/11 stating they had cancelled both replacement certificates and ordered a replacement. They cancelled $68.21 in replacement certificates and ordered a replacement of 1 tree. The certificates, ***cm - 4 trees, and ***cm - 3 trees, were for 7 trees not 1. In addition, she stated, in the email, she tried to call and left a voicemail. My phone shows no record of a call and there's no voicemail. Attaching the e-mail exceeds the number of characters. I would be glad to forward that email as further evidence. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Spring Hill Nursery to do as I was told by their customer service last fall. I want and expect 7 trees to be replaced.

Spring Hill Nursery On 15 November I placed an order for Winterberry Hedges

On 15 November I placed an order for Winterberry Hedges. On 19 November my VISA was charged the full amount of my purchase and I received notification that my order would be delivered 12 March . This was reasonable and acceptable based on the winter season. Beginning in March I kept checking on the delivery date and it kept being delayed by one or two week increments. The website said the delay was due to COVID situation. Again, I understand that, however, other items I have ordered have been delivered from other reputable vendors. It i snow three months later and I still keep receiving delivery delay notifications. On 02 June I attempted to contact Spring Hill Nurseries Customer Service Center and received a form letter telling me to check their tracking site which showed another 10 day delay on the delivery date. I do not believe this company has any intention of honoring their sales agreement. Most reputable businesses do not charge your card until their product is shipped. Looking at the list of previous complaints against Spring Hill Nurseries on the Ohio Complaintsboard.com site I believe it is time for the State of Ohio to take some form of action to protect and warn consumers of the questionable business practices of Spring Hill Nurseries. I believe Spring Hill Nurseries should be required to honor their commitment of product delivery or refund their customers with interest. I believe 7 months is an unreasonable period for delivery. An effort should be made to warn any future customers of the pitfalls of dealing with Spring Hill Nurseries. A copy of this complaint has been forwarded to the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Thank you for your time and consideration.

On 3/27 (pm), I ordered a mini greenhouse from Spring Hill Nurseries. I paid $276.21. The next morning (roughly 12 hours after placing the order), I received their catalog in the mail with the same greenhouse advertised for literally 1/2 the cost of what I paid. I immediately contacted the company via email and they opened a case number. I requested a price adjustment, as it hadn't even been 24 hours since I placed my order. In the time it took them to eventually get back to me, they mailed my order. They, then, emailed me that they could not adjust the price, but I could call customer service for further help. I called immediately and was told that since the item shipped, they could not cancel, adjust the price, or do anything. When I pushed for some type of resolution, they said I could independently call Fedex to reject shipment. So, essentially, they sold me a product at full price that went on sale legitimately less than 24 hours later and gave me absolutely no way to rectify this or help to rectify. I request the difference between what they charged me and what they are now selling the item for. This is absolutely false advertising. For context, I worked for a mail order catalog for years and am aware that this is the literal reason price adjustments exist. Because you can't always time when mail is delivered. But, then to quickly mail out my order before even resolving my case, feels predatory and shady.

Spring Hill Nursery I placed an order with Spring Hill on 1/18

I placed an order with Spring Hill on 1/18. I used a $50 gift certificate and the balance of my order was $10.58, which I placed on my ***. I received part of my order a few weeks ago, around the end of May. The rest of my order is set for shipping June 17th. Yesterday, 6/9, I received an account statement stating I owed Spring Hill $7.26 and the amount was Past Due. I called the number on my statement () and after close to 20 minutes my call was answered. When I said I was calling about this statement, I was told I needed to call the credit depart at . I asked the rep to please verify my order which he did. I called the credit depart. and the rep couldn't find any account with my account number. After a few minutes into the call, I was disconnected. I called back and a nice lady said this was not the correct department and she forwarded me to another person. During this lengthy conversation with a new rep, I pulled up my *** account and there was a pending charge of $9.88 to be charged today, 6/10. I was told that was the result of the $7.26 past due amount and $2.62 shipping charge. This didn't sound right at all. Well into this conversation, the rep told me I would have a credit of $12.51 on my Spring Hill account to be used for future orders. I told the rep I would not be placing any future orders with this company. I paid for my order in full at the time of purchase in January and I don't know why they would charge my *** account the same time I was calling about this. If I had not pulled up my *** account during our conversation I would not have known they charged this to me until my next statement arrived. The whole matter seems wrong to me. Why would they charge me $9.88, which I did not know about or authorize, the same day they told me I would have a credit of $12.51 with Spring Hill.

I placed my order 4/14 and was told by the Philippines it would ship in a week. After two weeks I called and was told again by someone in the Philippines she would expedite my order. After nothing, I again called and was told one of two items was out of stock and the other would arrive 5/26. It arrived 5/25 and instead of being a healthy beautiful $20 plant as advertised on the site, it was a bug infested single 6” nearly dead strand. I’ve called four times to no avail and emailed the company twice since with no response. They have falsely advertised and are not standing behind their warranty.

Spring Hill Nursery My Complaint: I have contacted this company on 4 separate occasions and they have not responded as to when my order is now going to be shipped

My Complaint: I have contacted this company on 4 separate occasions and they have not responded as to when my order is now going to be shipped. In the emailed order confirmation it states an estimate dates of shipment. Today I called again to check on the shipment date and was told the items purchased ARE NOW ON BACKORDER! This is NOT satisfactory. I have requested a complete refund. I was told I would have the money credited back to my account within 5 -7 business days, "depending on my institutions business cycle". I did request an email sent to be sent to me with the cancellation. They stated they could not do that. Ordered small tree for $90.36 (inclusive of delivery charge) with delivery estimate of 4/26-5/10. As of 5/14 Have not received product. Called company and was told they shipped it on 4/28 but couldn’t provide tracking because it was shipping from someone else they couldn’t track and could ship sometime in another 4 more weeks. Website states it will be shipped from the company’s nursery and there will provide tracking via FedEx. Refused to let me speak to manager or provide refund. I ordered a Lemon Tree on 4/23 to be delivered for Mother’s Day order #*** and paid $90.03. It has not been delivered and I have received horrible customer service. I have called, emailed and chat with customer services numerous times (over 10 tries) they keep telling me a supervisor will call me back - I have not received a call or reply to date. Today I called and demanded to talk to a manager and was told the manager was at home but would call me back today. I have not received a call! I think they have scammed me and have no intention of calling me back. I have several emails and copies of chats but do not know how to attach them here

Purchased 7 shrubs from them over the course of 3 months. Expensive, and none of them are showing any signs of growth. Basically told too bad. No replacements available and no refunds. Buyer Beware. Ripoff artist.
