Skypepaying for a subscription but cannot log in


Every month I receive a receipt for my subscription which I pay, however when I try to log into my account to use that subscription I cannot log in!
It says my account doesn't exist (I have tried using my email address and my phone number) so I have been paying for nothing for a few months.
It is driving me insane and the skype help page is useless and doesn't direct you to an agent!!!
