I took my truck to Showgun Paint and Body Shop on May 11 for a paint job and to add some accessories. They said it would take a couple of months and cost $2300. But after waiting for 5 months, they told me a different price and still hadn't finished the work. They left my vehicle outside in the rain and bad weather for the entire 5 months without doing any work. Whenever we asked about the status of our vehicle, Tom and his wife Diana would get angry. Eventually, they told us to take our vehicle somewhere else. They refused to give us a full refund and never returned the parts we had ordered. The vehicle already had some rust, but now it has even worse damage after being left out in the rain for so long.

On 25 Sept 2020, I took my 1981 Firebird Trans-am to Showgun Autobody for a minor restoration and paint job. As a 33 year Chief Warrant Officer Five working on Fort Bragg (FORSCOM), recently retired, I thought that I could never get taken advantage of or cheated but I did. After researching numerous shops, I thought this shop was the best choice. However, I missed the more than 60 negative complaints posted on Google, Yelp, Birdseye, and other online resources which can be easily goggled and reviewed which I did after the first promise date passed which was March . I also realized that no one files ComplaintsBoard.com complaints because there is no way that this shop should have a A+. So, I know this will probably not help get my case resolved as they are soooo many complaints already online that say almost the same thing and are unresolved. However, I am very dedicated in making my case heard and the evidence seen. I will probably have to file a small claims case which I'm already in the process of doing but hopefully my efforts will lead to people being more informed on how this shop does business. All the pictures and videos will be made public on a prominent News Station soon. I'm not upset that it took 14 months to finally get my car back (Oct 17 2021, first call that said car was ready/found 12 issues that had to be fixed/ didn't take the car. 7 Nov 2021 was the second call that the car was ready. I went and picked the car up on 9 Nov 2021 and decided to never to take my car back. The car had many issues, rust coming through the paint all over the car; small burns from flying sparks on the front, paint chips/cracks, trash in the paint, electrical components burnt up and inoperable on the inside, doors and windows out of adjustment etc. I sent all the pics and vids to the owner. There was no question that this was a bad job. The car has to be totally repainted. Diane, the co-owner stated that, "we didn't tell you that we would strip the old paint off before we painted".
