I brought my car to A Distinctive Mobile Mechanic, Inc. on 06/20. I called and asked for a quote on repairs and for them to pick up my car. I talked to *** who said he didn't have a price yet for 3 days. I told him I needed the price before he started working because I didn't want to pay too much for an old F150. He said it wouldn't cost more than $500.00, including the tow, because he was only doing a tune-up. We went to his home office where my husband helped him with half of the work because he wasn't working on the car. We asked for a full tune-up, but he didn't replace the filters, etc. He called 2 hours before my flight and said it would be $950.00, which we never agreed to. I had to rent a car and spend more money because of their shady business practices, costing me $786.00.

I met a mechanic named ***, who said he could fix my windshield and transmission on my *** 525i. I gave him $2,400 cash to start the work, and he said it would be done in 2 weeks. But it's been 3 months and nothing has been fixed except the windshield. He gave my transmission to another mechanic, but that mechanic said it was too bad to fix. They also lost my torque converter, which *** said I'm responsible for. Another mechanic left me a message saying I'm being scammed and to file a fraud charge against ***. I called the police a month ago, but *** won't give me my car or my deposit back. He's also threatened to get me fired from my job.
