Employees as well as the consumers are yelled at, called names and threaten, this is not only done in private but right there on the collection floor. Managers as well as supervisors are encouraged to make sexual advances to other employees. . . These employees more likely than not aren't part of the management team. They do not have a ethic code of conduct. Most all companies have rules regarding dating and / or having sexual relationship with someone that is not at the same level in the company. Sentry though is quite different they promote the act of sleeping with and / or date someone that you are the superior to. Their justification or shall we say excuse is this is where you spend the most of your time. Long time manager ryan hydorn has quite a history of having sex with these pretty young ladies and i do mean young tht he is the manager of. One would think that he would as well as the company have the common sense to not promote this or at least require the two not to be within the same department or under a different manager. Mangers as well as supervisors have quite a history of sleeping with married persons and some of these people actually have their spouses working there also. Jason hover big man on campus can be quite intimidating, (The little man syndrome) , he holds a level of management of one of the highest, right below the owners and he too partakes in this acts of strong - arm and harrassment. His current wife was once an employee at sentry credit, she was not only an employee but an engaged one at that, mr hover acts as if he is above moral and ethic standards. All of the male owners and managent have obtain their significant others (Wives, girlfriend, or bedbuddies) at sentry and at the time the female was beneath them in position with the company. The only manager that hasnt is andre duran, but then he has crossed over to human resources, megan gray who everyone in the company knows the hidden joke, thats not so hidden. . . Andre has many girlfriends and megan with her major insecurities (Being quite over - weight, more on the homely side and unfortunately not a great personality either) but andre uses this as his control over her too. They have became the talk of the company people feeling sorry for megan because of andre's using her for quote "the things that she pays for and buys for him. If she didnt do these things he has made it clear that he wouldnt be dating, sleeping and in other words "using her. Its hard for a woman these days who is smart, pretty and a hardworker who wants to achieve and be sucessful when there are companies, owners, management and men of this substandard moral and ethic behavior. All of these statements can be verified. It is a very well known not hidden fact. Its is almost shown like something they are proud of. There have been so many woman messed with there only a few become a wife and that is probably even more sad. Ryan, for whatever caveman reason has made it his personal goal to see how many he can "bed" in his career at sentry. Why do and how can the management approve, accept and promote this totally illegal activity. It is not only uncomfortable for the women directly involved but for the other employess both male and female that have to be subjected to this. Isnt this behavior immoral not to mention illegal.

I have never had a problem with Sentry. They HAVE called me, but only because I forgot to pay them on the date i said i would. That's MY fault, not theirs. I pay them, and I don't get bothered until next month, unless I pay them per our payment arrangement. On a side note - IF you get a call about a bill you say you paid, then take it up with the place you got the bill FROM. It's not the bill collectors fault, UNLESS you paid the bill collector and they didn't credit you. . I ALWAYS get a notification that a bill is going into collections.

This company keeps calling me at odd hours of the day and continues to call until I answer the phone. They claim that I own for a PUD bill which I paid in full months ago. I requested that they send me something in writing that shows the name of their company and a breakdown of what I owe. They refused so I refused to give them my credit card over the phone. Every time they call they really push for me to give them my credit card number which makes me feel like they are a scam. When I requested to talk to the manager, John Anderson, he threatened to sue me over $36.43 if I did not pay the bill now. I then asked him if he was going to really sue me and he told me to "shut my mouth"! I hung up.

This is the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. They call my home and cell phone questioning me about my personal information. I have received calls from [protected] and [protected] and [protected] and [protected] and [protected] and [protected]. Give me a break! I have no clue what debt they are talking about and when I tell them not to call again they break the law and call with a different number. When I question them they say that it is a matter which they are unable to give information. The lady that called yesterday was a real tool who said that she would take me out of their system then hung up and immediately called my cell phone. Talk about harassment this company needs to learn how to work and deal with honest people if they wish to collect any debt that is owed. I don't think that threatening or accusing is going to win my heart. As far as I'm concerned any creditor that I have dealt with has been paid in full and if I owed anyone any amount I should have been billed by now. My advice is to report this company to all authorities you can because they have every one's personal information and who knows what they are doing with it. I know I'm going to. If a company is legitimate they send a bill to your home and not collect actual money over the phone. Don't give this company any bank or credit card information because they have shown me how professional they are not.

I worked their when they 1st opened above an RV sales place. Never had any problems and always got paid. I left to greener pastures and am Now in PDX Oregon doing the same work. Reading all of the above really makes me wonder why Debtors are shifting blame and focus? The negative ripple effect of your choices/behaviors allowed you to be placed in collections. If you did what you PROMISED to do in the 1st place (ie pay your bill) you would not be the perceived victim. You are the victimizer not the victim. you failed to fulfill your PROMISE and commitment, Now you are in collections. Regarding the blind individual that was not hired...Well that was wrong... Sex drugs and rock and roll in the office? DRAMA! WTF ? Men are men regardless of where they work. Remember Pres Clinton? Build a bridge get over it... Again I have not worked her in 15+ years If they where as bad as everyone says the state would have closed them down as well. XOXOXO Ron London

I don't know how anyone can be "proud" to be a collection agent harassing people day in and day out. This thread is hilarious though and only confirms what most consumers already know and believe about collection agents. TOTAL ###! Here's hoping that you find yourself on the other end of collections, and get a dose of your own medicine one day. Anything can happen to anyone at anytime to send them in a financial tailspin. For you folks, it's all about the money and only the money - compassion my A@@! Freaking losers that can't get a job doing anything else. Again, thank you for validating what every consumer already thinks about legalized thuggery known as collections and their ### agents.

Sentry Credit [protected] as of today 1/16/2013 keeps calling my number requesting to speak to a person who is not at my home. I have requested that they not call anymore and update their information. My phone number is only 2 weeks new and I have received over 20 calls from them. I get calls from 7am to 8pm at night. When I am not home they never leave any messages. According to CA LAW this collection agency is violating some laws. First of, the 7am hour of calling should not be happening as that hour is prohibited by the law. Second, they provided information on someone to me such as full name, date of birth, and social security number which is violation of federal laws. They can not give out that information to anyone unless the person they are speaking to says they are that person and they verify the info. Seems like this Sentry Credit thinks they can do anything they want. Right now I will be doing a dispute with State of Ca Attorney General's office and contact the Federal Commision Office as well. These people messed with the wrong person...FYI...I'm a Prosecutor for Orange County.

After reading this back and forth bantering as well as what appears to be reported and witnessed flagrant drug abuse as well as selling and purchasing in or on the property I can only respond that I am disgusted and that these people should in no way have access to public personal in formation and addresses. I hope the Feds place an agent in the business under cover to monitor and record the ongoing problems outlined above.. I am really shocked and disgusted.. With a BBB rating of A + too.. Oh brother!

I worked for yhem back in 1999 I was 3 weeks away from my 90 days and I had never had my own insurance and stuff before because I was young and I was so excited. I had been seeing this guys for about a year and I got pregnant, so I told the owners because at that time they were always around. The next day after I told them I had a doctors appointment when I got home I noticed my mom on the phone. she said "you need to tell her this" So I got on the phone and they fired me. There was nothing that I could do because I was still in my 90 day probation. I got in contact with a lawyer and that it what he said. Well the first 2 months that I worked there I was #5 in the office the first month and the second month I was #2. So I know it was not about performance it was the fact that I was pregnant. I f'ing surprised that they have made it this far they are losers. If anyone checks this that used to work there I'm trying to find a guy that worked there and he was best friends with the owners I think his name was trey or something like that.

I freaking loved working for Sentry Credit! There are tons of chicks, office games, and employees get together on a regular occasion to drink. If you show up to work and follow the training it shouldn't take longer than six months to figure out how to be a decent collector. However I will admit that a lot of the chicks there have too many kids. Also all of the white chicks date black guys and all of the black guys date white chicks...which is weird.

DaBillCollecta - Sentry Credit, Inc. - Jesse Roy Hinds - lol! They do give you a good paying job and a stable work environment. But you my friend have failed both to grow as a person, and, well... grow as a person. lol. Both literally and figuratively.

You sleep with and live with your second cousin, Jennifer - and yes, everyone knows she's your second cousin.
You my friend take the term "keep it in the family" way to literally.

Your mom is a crack [censored] (that is literal) and you are the male equivalent.

I just realized that I am breaking the golden rule. I'm done now. I apologize. I am however going to push "submit" just below.. right about.. now

These people suck and the woman that I talked to was such a [censored]! I am not sure what to do. I paid my account in FULL in 2009 through the original creditor. Turns out I had accumilated $28 in interest from Sentry Credit. I did not know this until 2011 when I pulled my credit report. I WOULD NOT knowingly leave $28 on my credit report. That is stupid! So I paid it immediately. Now 4 months later they are still reporting "Key Derogetory" on my credit report. The [censored] lady that I talked to told me that "that's the way it is. I just paid it in 2011 and since I waited so long to pay them that now I have to wait just as long for them to stop reporting it as bad!" I said "um ok..." and didn't get passed that before she hung up on me. I really wish there was a legit Manager that I could pass a complaint too! I already paid them off so they no longer should need to be RUDE!

This number has called me repeatedly for the last couple of weeks telling me i owe them money for a pud bill from a year ago that i already paid. my roommate at the time has a record of all the checks written and cashed for the specific bill. the woman that i talked to was extremely short and demanding and told me that i had to have everything paid by 8 pm that night. i told her i would talk to my roommate and call her back. any time i have called back the number she gave, it goes straight to voicemail and it is hours before she returns my call. i told her i would have my roommate call with verification of all payments but my roommates calls all go ignored and unanswered and the woman is becoming more and more demanding that i pay the bill by a specific time and date.

What is so funny to me, it's all good when you people are working there, but the minute you get fired, it's all bad...Get a life, better yet get a job, or find something better to do with your time then thinking of negative things to say. Sentry paid your bills right, probably even provided you with enough money for, let's say your "extra" curricular activities as well? Get over it people, if you were to put all your energy into lets say a "resume", you would have a great job by now...I sit and laugh at you all, pathetic, not to mention can't spell either. For the one talking about a "learning disability", please learn how to spell, IT'S spelled D-I-S-H-O-N-E-S-T int "deshonest'...wow you really are slow, and we didn't have to see you ti figure that one out, we just read what you wrote. Now please go do something better with your time, here's a clue...go back to school...

What is annoying about this complaint board is that there is no validity to what is posted, and explains clearly why the people that are posting all these negative things are now standing in the unemployment line. If people went to work to do their jobs, and not try to make friends or "fit in" I guess there would not be any hurt feelings when you fail to. Advice to those that read this, please realize that people have to post on this ridiculous website because there is no truth to what these people are posting. Those that have been or ever will be successful understand that with success comes haters and with haters comes bitterness with bitterness you will become unemployed and with that comes boredom and nothing better to do than whine to whoever will listen and those that feed into that are enablers.

Wow. I don't even know where to start. I saw a craigslist ad for Sentry, and had considered applying. I currently work for a small family owned business in Administration (a supervisory role) and am considering a change of careers- mostly due to the fact that I'm currently on-call 24 hours a day 6-7 days a week, and I'd like to have some small part of my life back. However, whether there's a handful of good people at your company or not- judging from everything here, there's far more drama than work going on.
I see people defending this company while at the same time throwing out personal information about previous employees as "examples", and I'm wondering how in the world everyone is privy to everyone else's personal life in this company? I would never work for a company that is completely void of any policies and fails to enforce Confidentiality. Your company looks like the Jerry Springer of Employers- everyone's sleeping with everyone, bosses can "drink you under the table" (this is professional HOW?), there's drug use on and off the job, and all of your past AND current employees are on here posting about it. Scary!

Wow, I don't know anything about the company, but one thing is painfully obvious. Everyone that hates the company has no grammar or spellings skills whatsoever!
If you don't want to embarrass yourself folks, perhaps you should use MS Word to check your spelling and grammar first, before posting.

i seriously can not believe i am reading people defend this company... maybe if they did everything legal and not [censor] then maybe people would be more defending them than telling the truth of all the [censor]ed up [censor] they do...

CANDICE DOWELLS... sat right in front of everyone and we had a training group of 6... one guy quit after the 2 or 3rd day on the telephones... this [censor] went on accuient and [censor]ing looked him up and found him... just because he was not calling her back and just ignored her calls... [censor] get a clue that is [censor]ing illegal... and she was bouncing up and down saying " i got him i got him" im so afraid what the [censor] is going to do sense she has my SSN... and yes if you don't kiss her saggy [censor] she will love you... and they are mostly all COKE HEADS ... AND SELL AND SMOKE WEED IN AND OUT OF THAT [censor]ING PLACE... IT'S SAD

this company is a joke.. Candice Dowells... first, [censor]ed her way to the top to a CM. then got demoted cause she could not cut it... [censor] has worked there for 8 years and can't even make it... she got demoted to a training manager with a HUGE EGO... and then goes out on breaks with JENN her [censor]... and smokes weed comes back into the training floor smelling harshly of [censor]ing weed... eyes red... and the [censor] is pregnant... wow and then sits there and sexually harrasses people... she is about to get married and she sits there and flirts with a new collector... dumb [censor]... then BRETT SHOUP however you spell his name... he got a [censor] inside there pregnant she is having his kid... when was it okay with a company to let managers and bottom feeders (collectors) be okay with relationships and kids having them together. then on top of that... everyone [censor]s everyone. this place is worse than [censor]ing highschool... it's some catholic high school clicky sluty [censored]s... then the [censor] tells me i have a learning disability and fired me for it... discrimination... she is the one with a learning problem [censor] spelled deceased... (desiesed) and when we all laughed at her [censor] she got all bent out of shape... [censor] you can't [censor]ing spell but you tell me that i have a learning disability... she can't talk right but she says im slow... it amazes me that the people that started this company actually is okay with deshonest people that sit there and (DO COKE AND SMOKE WEED AT WORK, WORK FOR THEM) this company is a joke... i can't wait for it to fail!

I was called by this number and the person only reveled her self as Chelsea from Sentry asking for a name that was close to mine but not correct. I've received a similar debt collection call for the same name before but what is concerning is that when directly asked, "Chelsea" flat out lied to me about being a debt collector. I will report the phone call and I suggest that nobody trust what this person says.

This is the same company that called me at work, after receiving proper notice not to, and told me that I should go into the cash drawer at work and just take the money to pay them. After all, she said, my credit is important and no one would ever find out I took the money to protect my future.

LOL! I had it on speakerphone and 3 other people heard it, after I asked her to explain to me again what she wanted me to do.

Each of them will testify too, if it goes that far.

Now, I just have to figure out which agency can do the most damage to these bottom feeders.

Sentry Credit is one of the WORST companies to work for...PERIOD
First off, you have your insecure manly looking training manager candice, who has jay leno's chin beat for sure, with her tired wig and horrible management skills. If you do not kiss her [censor] or buy her fat [censor] some food, be prepared to butt heads. But, if you're a male...she will have no problems with you. She is the QUEEN of "constructive criticism" but do something right and you'll never hear about it.

All the women their are loose [censored]s, who do ANYTHING for attention and the men are [censored]s too...dirty [censored]s.

They give you this [censor] spill about, "if you're trying, we will work with you..it's not about your numbers" which, is TRUE! Its about who you are sleeping with and who you smoke/sell weed too. Everyone from CM's and AM's smoke weed, no one in that building could pass a drug test to save their life!

Its lots more shady activities going on and anyone who has ever worked there would know, So unless you are willing to kiss [censor], [censor] a few people in management and have no life outside of Sentry, this is NOT the job for you.

As a former employee of Sentry Credit I can add this. I was one of the top collectors, earning Collector of the Month more than once. As is the case with most employees there, people did look up my "criminal record", or at least they tried. I do not have a record. I have never had an infraction worse than a speeding ticket, and that was over 20 years ago. I don't use drugs and I pay all of my bills on time. Is the company perfect. NO WAY, but what company is? Are some of the employees and management "questionable"? YES. But again, in what company is every employee perfect? I made really good money at Sentry Credit. I finally chose to leave because dealing with all the negativity (from the debtors) was getting to me and making me a bitter, complaining person. Don't blame Sentry because you can't handle the pressure of the business of collections. If you want to avoid the politics of the work place you can. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, and the business will leave you alone. If all of you past employee complainers put as much energy into simply doing your job as you have into these messages, you might have made some money.

I had such a horrible experience today with this company. I am still in shock as to how I was spoken to. I wound up having to hang up on the representative due to how rude and ugly she spoke to me. I was still so upset that I wound up calling the credit card company that I am in collections with just to get the number to sentry to call back and complain about the representative I spoke to. Lucky me she was the one to answer. So I started out just calmly asking if this was the way all employees were trained or if she was having a bad day. She would get loud and abrupt and over power the conversation. I reluctantly asked to speak to a supervisor and just as I had expected she treated me the same. She stated that it was their job to resolve the issue therefore suggest options to help. I was never once during any of the three conversations kindly offered options. I was attacked and talked down to. There was zero I mean ZERO profesionalism. I just could not believe my ears, I mean I had heard of this but never I mean never has anyone ever spoken to me this way. I am currently unemployed with two children and a sick husband who can not work. After they disected every bit of my income I was asked what I was spending my last one hundred dollars a month remaining on. Let me just say this...I have fallen on hard times and am just trying to keep my head above the water and not lose my home. I had every intention on paying off my debt once things settled. Now after the way I was spoken to and treated as if I was no more that doggy doo under their shoes I have to say I may just be content with destroyed credit than to ever give them a penny!

Ha John, you are funny! Talk about a ploy to get poor little Rachel to call you! Well, I do know for a fact that it is ILLEGAL for your company to call a place of employment and your company has done that and was really rude and harrassing to me on the phone. So, if you continue to call places of employment, I know we will be turning your company in. We have nothing to do with your problem and have more important things to do than answer phone calls from the likes of your company.

Getting frustrated, have you gone higher? Made a complaint? Don't let things go, like you did with this debt. I understand you are a good huy and you want to pay, but don't cry about bad service, do something about it. If you don't get satisfaction from the level you are at, do some digging and find the contact info for the next higher level or even the highest level and write an email, make a phone call, go to the office and meet with someone, complain to some official agency, etc. Don't just throw up your hands. How do you think they are going to get rid of the bad apples if you don't tell them about it? Of course some companies do a better job of developing and enforcing effective policy controls, but just because you run into a bit of a ### or two does not give you excuse to just ignore the issue. Don't wait for next month to come and that annoying dipwad to call. Follow me? Good luck, amigo. Happy trails.

Interesting discussion here. I am 50 and never been in the biz, but I have my share of bad debts. I don't consider myself a cockroach, but I sure have made some bad judgment errors.

That said, I have been on the Earth 50 years and I bet the truth is somewhere in the middle.

However, I have seen many times the type who are complaining and making excuses and blaming the company for the bad results of their employment. Yes, I believe the company can do a bettter job monitoring and disciplining their staff.

But, it is a big company that has a difficult job to do in an industry rife with a relatively higher level of unsavory characters, but, I do believe that the philosophy of giving folks a hand who would otherwise be on the streets, coupled with seeing the opportunity to stand out in the industry, especially in a down economy is fundamentally sound.

Many of the folks writting here with these Jerry Springer type complaints seem to have a very personal stake in these matters, so I put very little weight in their comments. Overall, I think they incorrectly assign blame for a period of time in which bad manegement is allowed to thrive before it is changed on the company itself. Yes, the captain of the ship is ultimately responsible, but most of the complainers only see their small part in the whole and can't understand all of the factors that go into running such a large organization.

OK, there are corrupt large organizations. But, I just have a feeling that the ones who are really successful are the ones who don't break the rules, or even bend them for quick gain. I think the ones who rise the highest are the ones who treat the customers differently than all the wolves. People are not stupid. If they are legit at all (and those are the ones who will be able to pay anyyway) then they will more likely respond in your favor if you treat them with respect. Let them tell you a story. Be patient. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

So, I think if I were considering a carreer as a collector, I would at least give them a try. They say they are trying to do the right thing. Give them a chance. You can walk away any time and not be any worse of than you are now. I really don't know where anyone got this idea that we are slaves to any company. Just because it is a pain in the ### to change jobs does not a slave make you, lazy-###!

In any case, thanks to all of those who gave me an insight into this business.

Notimportant ok... Then explain to me why I get a monthly phone call from Sentry regarding a debt we are disputing. I've been asking for proof of debt since July. I have spoken to managers and the story is always the same...and I am quoting here... "we can send you proof of debt, we have it here, but please understand that if we do we will demand payment in full immediately so don't you want to settle this for a fraction of the debt beforehand?"

When I tell them no I will not settle, they get indignant and promise to "mail it out today". The latest episode was this morning. We have been patient, I always answer and/or return phone calls. We are not trying to hide, we have given them all of our phone numbers, our address, and even email addresses. I guarantee you we will receive another call in a few weeks with the same song and dance. We are trying to get this matter cleared up for both our sake and theirs, but I am getting to the point where I am going to start filing complaints.

All debt collectors are gutter trash. In this post-Blowbama economy there is no reason for debt collectors to attempt to extort any monies from hard working Americans, so go piss up a rope you bottom feeder.

About five years ago, we had a debt collector relentlessly hound my mother for a debt from 1987. The business that she unknowingly owed the money to has since became defunct. That insolent snotty-nosed little creepy boy that called at all hours of the day and night had the nerve to tell my mom "If you don't pay this bill, we're going to sue you and take your house, your car, and seize your bank account." Since then, I won't even stop to give a debt collector the time of day because you gutter crawling maggots aren't even worthy enough to look up and lick the sole of my high heeled shoes.

Received a call from Sentry Credit concerning a open account with a local bank. I informed the collection specialist that I wanted to pay this debt and requested a payment plan and that this debt not be reported to the credit Bureau.

She informed me that she couldn't authorize this and I would have to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold then transferred, I reviewed my request again for a payment plan (that what start with a payment today.) and I was told they needed payment in full during a 30 day window to avoid this being reported.

I told her I couldn't afford to clear this matter in that time frame and asked her if they could work anything out for me. Her reply was I am looking at your 401K statement and that you own a house worth XXX. She was suggesting I cash in my 401K (that was been hammered with losses) and they I could take out a second mortgage on my house(which has lost over 120K in value).

I told her that she couldn't have access to my 401K because that wasn't a matter of public record. I told her she was lying to me about having this information and she started making excuses.

Lastly I asked for your name and title, I then found out she wasn't a manager and that she was another collection specialist who couldn't even authorize or deny my requests.

I find it funny in this time of financial hardship that they would treat me this way when all I wanted to do was pay this balance and move forward.

Federal Agency Obtains $55, 000 for Blind Applicant Denied Hire

SEATTLE – Everett, Wash., debt collection agency Sentry Credit, Inc. has agreed to provide $55, 000 and other relief to settle a federal lawsuit charging that the company refused to hire a qualified applicant because she was blind, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced today.

According to the EEOC’s suit, although Cheryl Reith’s online application for a recovery specialist position qualified her for an interview with Sentry, once the company's manager met Reith in person and realized she was blind, the manager immediately stated, “This isn't going to work out.” Although Reith attempted to explain that she had done similar work for over eight years with the aid of assistive technology for the blind, the manager merely repeated, “This just won't work, ” and sent Reith away.

Reith, age 39, who has been blind from birth, said, “I almost broke into tears that day, I couldn’t believe how quickly I was dismissed. The interviewer’s rejection of me was so instant and blatant, and happened in front of several people… I never had a chance to bring up my success doing similar work for over eight years. All I really wanted was the opportunity to be considered for my actual qualifications and experience, not someone’s preconceptions of what it means to be blind.”

Such alleged conduct violates the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires employers to make reasonable accommodations to employees or applicants with disabilities unless it would pose an undue hardship. After an investigation conducted by EEOC investigator Bill Benedict and after first attempting to reach a pre-litigation settlement through conciliation, the EEOC filed the lawsuit EEOC v. Sentry Credit, Inc. (Case No. CV-09-0147 MJP).

Under the terms of the consent decree settling the suit, Sentry Credit will pay Reith $55, 000, post a notice in the workplace concerning the company’s commitment to complying with the ADA, institute training on preventing disability di scrimination and report to the EEOC any disability discrimination complaints that arise for the next three years.

EEOC San Francisco Regional Attorney William R. Tamayo said, “Sentry’s refusal to consider accommodating Cheryl Reith turned out to be a huge loss to the company. Ms. Reith had excelled at very similar and even more demanding work with her previous employer with a modest accommodation. Had management at Sentry given Reith the opportunity to prove herself, they would have been rewarded with a very skilled and loyal employee.”

Seattle Field Director Luis Lucero added, “According to a 2009 study by the Job Accommodation Network, 56 percent of accommodations cost absolutely nothing to make, while the rest typically cost only about $600. The study also shows that most employers report financial benefits from providing accommodations due to a reduction in the cost of training new employees, a reduction in the cost of insurance, and an increase in worker productivity. With so much to gain, it is well worth it for an employer to comply with the ADA and consider if there is an accommodation that will allow an applicant or employee with a disability to get the job done.”

The EEOC enforces federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. Further information about the EEOC is available on its web site at www.eeoc.gov.
