This shady company has been calling for months from several different numbers leaving as well as another associated with them leaving a voice-mail for my husband. Today July 14th,2023 we received letters with two different middle initial (he has 3 middle names) requesting repayment of debts to two different companies. One over 12K to Citi Financial Services and one over 700 to TD Canada Trust. We have been married since 2005 and together since 2003 and NEVER has my husband dealt with either institution. There was no details in the letters of how the debt occurred, what it was for, why that amount etc.

To verify this debt as it’s not mine I have never had this and as of April 26 2023 it’s is still reporting collections and this is affecting my credit report

The initial company this debt was supposedly for has removed this as it isn’t mine and they couldn’t verify as well but pra group is still reporting on my credit and they refused to give me any proof that this debt is mine.

This makes no sense as initially company had to remove this due to not being able to verify .

Every time this company calls they never provide me with information regarding any debts. In 2015 I lost my job working at Target Canada after they suddenly closed all of their stores left hundreds of thousands of Canadians without employment. I haven't had a job since 2015 (I went back to school) and haven't had any debts go to collections since then. My student loans are all on OSAP repayment status. The statute of limitations on debt in Ontario is two years. It is well beyond the two years since that happened, and I have worked hard to repair my credit since then. When they call they don't even have my correct last name, which leads me to believe this debt came from before I was married, which again, was years ago and past the statute of limitations. I want them to stop contacting me.

PRA Group Canada continues to call me and has called my husband. I am not sure how they got my husband's phone number. They claim that I owe an outstanding debt to Zellers (Zeller has been closed and out of business for some time now), in addition I have never owned a Zeller's card. I'm not even the right person. My first name is correct but not my last name. When I ask for more information to get a sense of what and why they are calling they hang up. To be safe, I ran an *** report and as I thought I do not have any outstanding debts but I see that this company has done an inquiry. I would like the calls to stop. I believe that this is a scam, trying to convince people who may not know any better that they owe money and to pay them. I will also be reporting them to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center.

In the past three months I have been receiving multiple calls daily from a number that would not leave a message. I was finally able to answer and was informed that they were following up regarding a debt from 2010. I asked to have information sent to me, which they did email me but that required me to make an account to login to view it. I did not do that. I asked about how this would affect my credit rating in the response I received was not clear, but upon further investigation it appears that this company buys debt information that surpasses the statute of limitation on all debts that they try to collect. I have checked on my credit report in the account in question has long since been written off. We have worked hard to build up from past mistakes. This feels predatory that a company would conduct business this way.

PRA keeps calling and sending letters demanding money but refusing to indicate to whom that money is owed and what was purchased and when. PRA sends letters and calls constantly about an alleged debt #1379127.They say the original creditor was ***.. I have never had an account or a credit card with *** so have no idea where they got my name.. They cannot tell me what was purchased from where and when. This is definitely harassment toward a senior and it is very upsetting. My credit score has always been high and it is not fair that this company, which I doubt is even credible, is allowed to send this debt to the credit bureau..

I have been receiving unsolicited phone calls from the phone numbers in the attached document since 2019 on my home phone ***. The phone calls come in at various times a day and sometimes several times in the same day. They never leave any messages and on several occasions I have answered the calls only to hear silence then be disconnected after I say hello. On a few occasions I waited for a short time to see if anyone would say anything and as soon as I said hello whoever was on the other end would hang up. Based on my research, the phone numbers appear to be associated with PRA Group. I do not understand why they would be attempting to contact me. My credit is perfect and I subscribe to credit monitoring. I would like to understand why I am receiving these phone calls, why no one leaves a message and would like the phone calls to stop..

I got a phone call from PRA group along with a letter saying I owe $1,708.99 to the Bay and they will offer me huge savings to only pay $191.98 and settle my account. They said this is from an old The Bay account I had back in 2001. I have no recollection of owing any money to The Bay, 20 years ago, so I asked the person on the phone to send me any records they have around this account. He said the mail they sent me is all they have and they don't have any other records since this is a 20 year old account. They can't share any information around this alleged account because it's so old yet they expect me to pay the owing amount? how do I even know this is real? I told them I don't acknowledge this as a legitimate claim and will not pay without supporting documentation. Please either provide additional documentation around this or stop contacting me.

Pra continues to contact me for a family member when I have asked them to stop several times. Rude and hang up when I'm speaking to them. My mother has a debt owed to an agency called PRA group based out of Ontario. My mother was a victim of fraud by a family member and initially I was trying to sort out what had happened and she gave me permission to speak with pra group. It became clear immediately that my mother would not be able to pay these debts as she was unwilling to press charges, and I proceeded to tell pra group to remove me as a contact person. I receive calls from this company often and I have asked them several times to stop contacting me. They explain to me that they will remove my number but then proceed to call me again. I do not owe them any money and when I explain the situation to them, they hang up on me. I want this to stop immediately.

Original purchase was over 15yrs ago. ***. I made a settlement payment of 450 to a collection agency in 2010 and I was told this matter was now closed. After some time I began to receive letters. I have called regarding this issue multiple times and then i was told in aug 2011 that I would not receive anymore letters or calls and the matter was closed. Now for the past number of years I have been receiving 2 to 4 letters a year saying I still owe and demanding I pay and threatening to continue negatively impacting my credit score. It is now 2021 and I am so fed up with this company. *** I am going to seek legal advice regarding this matter. I believe this company has cost me a great deal financially. I need my name to be removed from this company and I need for them to stop threatening and harassing me.

Confrontational calls. Lying about information regarding my debt. Unclear methods of collection. Demanding significant amounts of personal info I received a call regarding a debt in Sept 2020. Was willing to settle. Agreed on settlement amount however there were so many lies told to me on the phone. Once the settlement amount was agreed upon no written correspondence was sent. I tried to call them back however with them calling from blocked numbers I could never identify them as a company or could call them back. I finally called them back from checking my credit bureau to find out about the debt holder. On the next call the person I spoke with was extremely confrontational and hard to deal with. They demanded an unusual amount of personal information. 3 years tax returns. 3 months pay studs. Etc. Not once have I received anything in writing verifying this is a legitimate company.

Payment agreement conditions were not met. In may , I agreed to pay an account that was due upon condition that a release letter be sent to *** for removal of item from credit bureau. This was agreed to in writing by an agent working on behalf of *** and PRA Group Canada. Payment was made for 2 accounts and the agreement was never adhered to from either parties perspectives. Months and months of back and forth regarding the same, despite acknowledgement from both company representatives and the matter remains outstanding. Their companies reneged on a deal that was made in exchange for payment. This could amount to extortion. Now, their representative *** has ignored repeated requests for resolution and is blaming *** and *** is blaming PRA Group. The fact remains, their representative representing both companies agreed to payment terms, collected funds and never upheld their end of the bargain.

PRA group has been contacting me for months. Most recently tonight at 9pm at night! I had spoken to them previously and they mentioned a debt owing from 15-18 years ago. Which seems pretty crazy since it's so old. I let them know I did not recognize the debt and it was odd they were only now coming to collect. I asked for more info and supporting documents since there is a lot of scams these days. They said the letter they sent me is all the info they have. There isn't any information on the letter just an amount owing. I checked my credit and found no sign of this debt. My credit has been going up not down. I let them know they must have the wrong person and to please stop contacting me. They still keep calling me at all hours of the day. They never leave a message. I want this company to stop harassing me for a debt that is not mine. If they are trying to add this debt to my credit report than I'd like to make sure it's removed as well since I do not recognize this debt.

I keep getting contacted by ***, who have been contracted by PRA to collect a debt on a *** Account that is not mine. I started getting calls about this about two years ago. They called and harassed me daily. I called *** as the number they told me that was associated with the account has never been my number. *** confirmed this number has never been in my name; I have no outstanding debts with them, they have never sent my account to collections - I am still an active *** Customer by the way. *** even went to so far as to change my phone number for free so this group would stop calling me over a debt that is not mine. Now they have begun issuing letters threatening legal action. *** but that shouldn't even have to be an issue as this is not my debt, as confirmed by ***, who I still regularly pay monthly for my current service. I am beyond frustrated and need this to be resolved. If it was my debt, I would pay it (it's under $300), but I'm not paying for a debt I did not incur. How many people get these letters and just pay it so they will "go away" as one of the phone operators stated - "just pay us the money and we can stop calling you".

I was contacted by PRA Group Canada Inc. via an *** Letter dated February 10, 2022 in regards to a *** Visa Green Credit Card Debt balance of $2,227.43 with a threat and warning to pay within 10 days of a discounted amounted of $1,336.46 or face the consequences of property ownership confirmation, employment verification, asset determination, examination of Government and private databases and may have a negative impact on my credit rating". Further details included in the letter are as follows:

PRA Group Canada Inc. continues to garnish my pension and has a judgement on my property even though debt has been paid. *** My husband and I owed an amount to ***. The debt was sent to PRA Group Canada Inc. (PRA) for collection. I am 64 and retired from the provincial government so I live on a pension. My husband was an artist and through his unfortunate death last October and a small life insurance I was able to settle with PRA, or so I thought. This was completed on Dec.9/20. PRA has continued to garnish my pension ($736.80 monthly) and they have not removed the judgement on my property. *** represent this organization and have sent me a letter saying that I am released from the debt. I have made many, many attempts to resolve this using *** for assistance. All I get for a response from PRA Legal representatives (TPH) is "it is being investigated". I have paid the debt and I do need my income and my property released. My husband was receiving OAS but I do not even have this income now. I thought by using the life insurance to pay the debt I would at least have my pension to live on. Like others I am just getting by so I need what is legally mine to survive. NOTE: All my contact with PRA is through OCCA Consumer Debt.

Back in 2015 I made a computer order from ***, worth approximately 2000 dollars, after receiving the boxes in the mail I decided to return the order as I didn't want to spend that much on a computer. I returned all boxes I received and that's what I was told when the sales person was assisting me, if I decide to return I can do that and not be charged any fee's and the finance agreement will be cancelled. To my surprise I have now received notifications from PRA Group Canada and on my credit report saying that I owe 350$ from a *** collection (which only one I made was 2015), and apparently the date of "last payment" which didn't happen cause I didn't make any payments on this apparent account, was 2018. So basically *** forgot to scan an item back, or something happened with shipping or an employee decided to pocket something, and then dell proceeds to add trumped up charges for 3 years before it was even considered delinquent with no contact to me. I have explained this situation to PRA, and have asked for copies of the original contract with my signature on it, and told them I made no such payments on this account, and 2015 is past the statue of limitations anyways for Manitoba. All they have sent me is a computer screen shot with my shipping information on it and a list of charges / payments that I never made or received notification for until last month, and will not send me any contract information or proof that I owe this amount. I have had other collections from when I was younger and made a few mistakes, but years ago I paid them without issue as I know that they were my mistakes, but this I cannot morally pay even though it is a small amount, as I know I returned all pieces of this order from 2015 in 2015, not to mention if I was to pay this money that they say I apparently owe, it will damage my report for another 6 years. Please rectify this and remove from my credit report, would be very much appreciated.

I was sent a letter from PRA stating that I had refused to talk to them and that they would be taking me to court. Their claim was over a 4 year old debt that I had made major effort to remedy with the company holding the debt, they refused to assist me at the time the debt was current. *** financial group refused my money and said "no, keep your money, we have sold your debt to someone else, wait for something in the mail!" I was blown away. 2 months following the loan of $7000 was secured in 2017, I had endured a viscous divorce ending in custody court battle, loss of employment, housing and extreme financial loss. *** wouldn't attempt to secure loan insurance to assist in my situation, they left me completely helpless.(they will be receiving a complaint after this one is completed) I had put so much effort into remedying the situation and they literally watched it happily get sold to PRA group. I had never received a call or anything from PRA group at all before receiving the threatening court letter this past October. Obviously being the first contact received from them, and the debt being 4 years old with multiple attempts to clear, I didnt think much about it and put it aside. Then less than a month later I was served court papers by a fellow at my home- for $16,000! I called PRA group to see how I could avoid court and the gentleman on the phone said it would be 400b/w to avoid court proceedings. 800 a month! I explained Im single father and he laughed at me and continued to threaten me. I asked how much can I pay to avoid court, he said 400 bw! I continued debating the payment as it is very high and $9000.00 higher than my original debt not including the requested 4000 in court charges as well. So $20,000 for a $7,000.00 loan, he said 300 bw then. I ended the call at that point. I am very disappointed and upset about this situation. I want thought for situation, thought towards my effort and removal of all debt to justify pain caused by pra
