I bought platinum plan $749/year (one time paid). The sale agent stated that if there is issue mentioned in the manual, and if technician cannot fix the part, they will replace the appliance The policy language is very vague (attached later). I claimed for plumbing fixture because of no cold water in the master bedroom and other room. We are on one property and even the company requested to split into two claims. The contractor sent out from the insurance company determined "Control valve and hot water system failed" (Necessary component parts failed for sure but the technician stated the major issue control valve). The day the technician diagnosed issue and on the phone with the manufacture of original gas water heater tank (I am there) and the manufacture recommends to replace the whole gas water heater tank since they stated that specific part expensive and no produce any more and parts upgrade also. The insurance did not cover me the tank (because brochure stated that exclusion tankless) but they should cover component parts failed that lead to replace the tank. The contractor and I and the Chie from SHW (Select Home warranty )on the phone three ways, the contractor stated that necessary components parts failed, he only listed major control valve lead to hot water system failed and repeated what the manufacture said. The SHW denied my claim. I requested to speak with supervisor/manager or owner or higher level but Chie did not allow me. Later I tried to call different extension and talked with Canice, she also denied. The policy language is vague and does not cover anything: 1. One property is one location, if the issue related, the SHW cannot ask the customer split into two claims (because each claim pays $75 call service); 2. If necessary component parts failed then lead to replace the tank, they should cover at least some of it

Claimed loss: 11/07/23

Desired outcome: Reimburse me $2515 as they estimated material and labor cost to replace the tank
