misleading claims by salespersons
We were 'promised, by a very pushy salesperson that our old settee would be collected by a charity organisation from the telephone number he gave us. Whe none of the numbers worked, or when none of them colledted from our area, we complained that we couldn't get a collection for the time they said they would deliver. Our sole reason for buying from SCS was because of this assurance from the salesperson. When we decided to cancel the sale, we were told in a bullish manner by the manager of SCS Gateshead, we were not going to get a refund, and that was that. In the end, we paid for the council to collect our old settee, and SCS delivered some two months later than originally arranged. All in all, we feel very frustrated, let down and will never go to SCS again, nor recommend this company to my enemies ! And, I do NOT like being called 'Mate' by these furniture barrow boys !

As a young, first time sofa buyer i think the service of SCS was absolutly disgusting! i went into the store with a plan of exactly what i needed. my partner bought a sofa from them a year before and i finally had enough money to buy a matching chair, when i described the fabic and gave them the name of the sofa, they insisted they dint do that range anymore and lead me to another chair which was leather and bright red! i told them i was only looknig for that exact chair and only as i was walking out the door they decided to tell me they could find me one from the factory.after a 10 minute conversation with the factory (which was held in a diffrenet room to myself!) they came back and advised they could get me one, which i was thrilled about, untill they told me the price...£700. i had seen the same style chair on the way in with different fabic for £300. in the end they convinced me to buy this chair and advised it would take 3months to make and deliver. after 6MONTHS, i went into the store everyday and the assistant actually said "trust me thats not long.." i couldnt belive my ears, finally 9months later my chair arrived and i made a huge complaint, but havnt heard anything...(suprise) i am happy with it and had no problems but the actual stress of buying it hasnt given me anytime to enojoy the thing! SCS ARE RUBBISH AT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I was with two friends at my local retail park (cortonwood) when we decided to go and look at some sofa's in SCS. We decided to do this because we will shortly moving out and starting our own lives when we go to university. We are only 16 but are very mature and sensible and were just wanting to browse the store. We walked into the store and started to look around at some sofa's, when we walked into the store there were two workers sat on display sofa's at the entrance to the store, enough for a complaint on it's own merrit. Soon after entering the store one of the employees walked over to us and asked us for our age, he then said that if you are under 18 (which we are) you have to be with an adult. We said that we were 18 to see whether that would be enough to allow us to look at sofa's. However we were then asked to produce ID otherwise we'd have to leave the store. I was outraged that we as young people who are old enough to be married, join a political party and have a home of our own were asked to bring a parent along. I am not currently living with any of my parents so this was upsetting for me. My friends left the store whilst i told the employee that had challenged us what he thought about the 'company policy' of young people not being allowed to look at sofa's. He said that it was company policy and had no choice in telling us to leave. I am outraged at what happened and i don't think that i will be able to trust the store again and shall use one of its competitive stores. I am very disheartened by this policy and feel bad that this country has got to the point where people under the age of 18 have to bring a parent to look at sofa's or if over 18 have to produce ID WHY!?

I bought a two 3 seater sofas from scs on january 2010 now at 6 months old i have problems i have complained and they sent out an upholsterer who says i need 5 chusions replaced annd the frame on one sofa fixed i told them i would like my sofas replaced not fixed as after 6 months this use should not be in this state it looks like 6 years old it is not the same qaulity as the one they had in their showroom they have refused and said only willing to fix them the sofas cost £1, 700 i feel i have been sold faulty goods and would like a refund do you think i have a case to get refund.
I bought a corner sofa from them in January 2011 and the cushion don't rise when you stand up as they do in the shop. I've complained and they sent out their questionable upholsterer. I have done all the letter things and now I have contacted watchdog. last resort is court
poorly made
hi, just hoping for a little advice please- I bought a corner unit from scs 6months a go costing £1000 it took me ages to save up and pay cash, but it was something that I really wanted for my first place. Only 6months on the sofa looks appauling the cushions are so flat that you can feel the underneath on your bum its horrible. My boyfriend and I both work full time and have no children so the sofa is hardly used..
do you think i stand a chance in getting a refund eventhough i have had it for 6 months?

I am being charged $79.62 because the mail was very slow in delivering the product and I was 2 days late (from the 17 days from their shipping date) in calling to cancel. This left me only about 7 days to try the product and determine that it wasn't working for me. I called and was told my account was canceled, but was not told that since I was 2 days late, that I would have to send the product back for a refund (within 30 days of their ship date). I was just told it was cancelled. So now I'm charged $79.62 and it's too late to send it back. How do these people sleep at night?

Bought a 3 seater and recliner chair from SCS, Livingston it got delivered just before xmas 2009. I noticed lately that there was trim stitching loose so phoned SCS they sent out an upholsterer to look at it who said it had been cut. Was he having a laugh there is only myself and my husband in the house but he was adamant that we caught it. I don't think so this has been a loose thread that over the couple of months we have had the suite has came loose. Now SCS are wiping their hands off it and I now have all the bother of writing to their head office and getting another upholsterer to look at it. I am also threatning to stop my payments to the suite as I have only paid 2 payments to this. Their after sales service is absolutely rubbish even though the suite has a 12 month guarantee they are doing nothing about it. It is time this company was stopped in their tracks. Why should I have all the bother of this when it is only 2/3 months old.

Just before christmas me and my partner decided we needed a new sofa as our current one was getting on abit and with out current wedding coming close wanted our house to look nice for when guests came to stay so after christmas we went to scs in shefield (crystal peaks park) and there we saw a nice tiffany suite. the price was £1795 plus £299 for the footstall and then a further £160 for a further 5yrs cover as we have two dogs and a child... well we said we wanted to think it over and look around before saying yes and he turned funny kept pushing us to buy it there and then and maybe he could do us a deal if we said yeas today etc... well firstly we wanted to measure our living room to make sure he sofa fitted as it was a corner sofa so said we would phone him back and let him know then he said if it fitted we could do the deal over the phone which i didnt want to do as i like reading the terms and conditions on paper as iove been stung before and the staff tend to read what they want u to hear... well after a day we phoned back and said we would have the soda but after looking around we had seen the same sofa for a few hundred pounds cheaper and he said he couldnt do us a deal after he told us he could in the end the deal he wanted to guve us was more than what we was origanily going to pay coz he wasnted us to have sofa over longer period then told us we had to pay delivary and other bits and bobs so in the end we said no... then he said if we took it over 12 months he would throw in free delivary but we said no coz we wanted it over 36months... so we said no... anyway last week while in rotherham at parkgate we saw another scs and the same sofa and as soon as we walked in the sales men gathered around and i hate it when they wont even leave u alone to look around so i was with my partner and son and we sat on the sofa and a sales man started pushing us to buy it saying what good quality the leather was ans we wont get anything like it in other shops so we said we had found that sofa in another shop for cheaper and thats when his attitude changed and we just said if he matched the price we would have it and he went on about all sorts of stuff that wasnt of intrest to us so we sat there and in the end he tried saying the insurance for 5yrs was £200 not £160 like the other guy plus delivary was alot more and then we said we would look else where and buy the other sofa if he wasnt prepared to drop by a few hundred and he said no but he would get his manager who i belive was called Dan... anyway he came prancing down like gods gift and sat on the chair and said what was our problem... we said we wanted the sofa but compared to others it was a little too much and he said why dont we buy a cheaper sofa then we said we wanted that one and if he didnt want to compare price we would go to the other shop (dfs) and buy theres and he slagged them off saying they didnt have a deal as good as theres which they did anyway in the end he was so rude we said we would go else where coz the other sofa was cheaper and he said do what u like and as we walked off behind our backs he muttered there problem is they cant f**king aford the sofa and there is no point dealing with ppl like that... i was fuming and i will be making and offical complaint to there head office, who was he to judge us, everyone wants a good deal right? and unknown to his knowledge if me and my partner wanted too we could have brought three of them sofa's with cash outright there and then so wasnt like we couldnt afford it but we chose to pay monthly at low payments rather than have a big lump come out the bank... and what did he mean ppl like us... cheeky rude arogant man... so my warning is dont even go near scs coz they are pushy and very rude and if u dont buy when thye want u too then they turn scarcastic and moody so best go elsewhere if u want good customer service...

credit card charge without authorization
Some time in Dec. 2009 I recieved a bottle of pills in the mail. I figured it was some unsolicited crap and threw it out. On 1/7/09 I found a $79.00 charge on my debit card. My bank gave me the above number which I called and discovered the name of the company. The operator determined that there was an account under my name and address and that I had "ordered" a some kind of weight loss product. I am not overweight, have no health issues and do not take ANY medicine or healh product WHATSOEVER (except Jack Daniels). Being in the computer industry I do not fill out "surveys" or open any unsolicited emails. I don't know how this company got my personal and debit card information. They closed my account but would not refund my money.

I went through an AARP link for the Acai Berry product. The link did not work so I went back to another one which worked. I ordered from the company in Arizona. I checked my bank account a few days later and found 7 different charges from all different names. I started to call them and found our 5 of them were the same company in Arizona. They apologized for the charges and refunded them. I received their product the next day. I called the other 2 charges and was connected a a Florida company with India speaking customer service. I told them I did not authorize the charges and had not received a product from them. I did not want their product. I wanted my money returned to my account. They told me they would do that but never did. I just checked my checking account and they withdrew 2 amounts of $79.62. I just spent an hour and 30 minutes on the phone with operator A-172, Leah Harris. Very India voice. She kept repeating the same sentence over. I did not follow the proper return policy so I would not get my $160.00 back. I asked for a supervisor and she said they would tell me the same thing. I finally got her to transfer me to a supervisor after a long repeating sentence by her. I spoke to Jack, operator #S-09. He told me I did not read their policy and I would not be refunded any money. I want to warn anyone that is ordering Acai Berry Detox or Colon Cleanse from Hollywood, Florida company SCS health products to not do it. They are a scam company and do not care about the customer. I am going to file more complaints to get my money back. I'm unemployed and cannot afford that kind of scam.

would not refund money, charged my checking accout 18 days after order not the 30 days, i was out of town when shipment arrived and noticed the charges on my checking account and it was too soon to do this. i called and cancelled as i have never used product and they refused, tried to get corporate number and was denied this information...refused to give me money back...
go to www.fraud.org. NCL (National Consumers League) has the power to shut the fraudulent company down. Please make a report against SCS Health Products. I have made my complaint. I'm sure they will need multiple complaints.
faulty sofa
I purchased corner sofa from ScS in Blackburn Lancs. The sample sofa I tested in the shop was ideal for my needs i.e. firm seating. The sofa was delivered in March 09 & to my dismay I found that the corner bit was really saggy and uncomfortable. I informed customer services the following day who sent out an upholsterer who agreed with me & said that this was dwon to the design i.e. half is sprung base & the other is a webbed base. I received letter from ScS saying that there was nothing wrong with it & that was all they would do. i then sent another letter on consumer directs advice as I had since been back to showroom & the sample sofa did not correspond in quality to mine. I received another letter from ScS stating that the problems"are not manufacturing faults & are down to the way the goods are being used" ! Consumer direct then contacted trading standards on my behalf & a representative from trading standards examined the sofa in my home & agreed with my judgement of the quality. She contacted head office who said that there was nothing wrong with it. The trading standards employee requested that ScS pay half towards the cost of an indepenadant upholsterer's report but they refused to even do this! I know have to pay the cost of the independant upholsterer's report myself or accept a sofa only half of which can be used.

This Company is well known for avoiding issues relating to its products.
I purchased a suite from them some time ago, but after a short space of time it soon became uncomfortable.. Writing to them did very little for months, but eventually they sent an inspector to establish the problem. A report was forwarded to me stating the issues were due to Myself and Wife being too large for the product. This was not stated at the time of inspection for obvious reasons.! By contrast both my wife and I are of moderate build and weigh below 15 stone. Needless to say, SCS stood by the inspectors report.
I did have the sense to buy an insurance plan but the Insurers were not too keen to withstand the cost of a full repair. They did pay for some remedial work but that was it.
As regards an independent inspection, which costs in excess of £100 the Company does not have to honour the findings, so in effect it is throwing good money after bad.
Eventually, i gave the suite away to a charity for needy people and bought replacement elsewhere.
lazee boy chair
Four months ago I visited the Walsall branch of the SCS furniture showroom. We were attended by an amiable representative called Sean. He sold us a Lazee Boy leather suite consisting of a two seater settee with power recliners, a single seat with power recliner and a luxury lift chair, again with a power recliner. We had bartered with Sean and his supervisor, an asian man, and agreed on a figure of £3, 000.00. On various occasions I asked Sean to confirm that the order was correct, as he had advised me that when he had placed the order there was no cooling off period to change our mind. He confirmed the above details. When the suite arrived I was shocked to see that one of the chairs was devoid of a recliner mechanism. I informed the delivery people of the error, their response was to phone the branch. I was spoken to by the manager Tony Squire, an abrasive and obnoxious individual who kept on insisting that we had received what we had signed for . I tried to explain that as far as I was concerned I had been sold a suite with all pieces with power recliners. Again and again he kept on reiterating that the agreement showed a standard chair. I said that it means nothing to me that it's jargon. I have had to pay a further £300 to get what I ordered and paid for in the first place. The service from SCS is absolutely appalling. I feel completely mislead by the salesmen who dealt with me.

wrong colour cushions
I bought a 2 seeter sofa from scs it arrived on the 14th july 09 with the wrong colour cushions ive been ringing them ever since 2 find out where my cushions are and they keep telling me that there coming at the end of the week i rang them again last week and they told me the company who makes them have nt got there fax so again they have been ordered and it will take 2 weeks this time i told them at the shop if there not here in 2 weeks iam goining 2 hire a van and dump it in the shop at the weekend when its busy and cause a scene i cant wait watch this space

In June, I ordered two products from them for $.99 free trial shipping fee per product, and before I even had a chance to try the products, they had charged my credit card over $200. I sent everything back, but because I only had 1 RMA # instead of 3, 1 per product,
(their company only gave me one when I called to ask how to return the products) they refuse to refund the additional $122. I have been on hold with them for 45 minutes at a time, then disconnected while waiting to speak with a supervisor. I think they are dishonest and should be shut down.

I had the same experience as the above posters. I ordered the "free" trial and paid 99 cents for resveratrol. Rcceived the product, was charged an international fee... small but curious why. Then a month later I'm being charged $79.62 despite the fact that I only wanted the "free" trial. This company is a scammer and they should definitely be avoided. Problem is... the website looks legitimate and by the time any of you who have ordered products from them are seeing these postings, this will be after the fact. It's already too late... but these postings are confirmation that you've been duped. I've received a RMA for this product and I'm supposed to send back whatever is left of it to get my $79.62 back but I'm not confident that I'll be seeing that credit to my account any time soon. Chalk it up to a learning experience but these guys should get what is coming to them, like a raid on their business by the FTC.
How do you shut down someone who operates out of Mailboxes ETC? They told me I would get a full refund upon return of my unused portion of resveratrol. I didn't dare try it after the sales pitch phone call I received the next day. God only knows what was in the product. I sent it back to them certified mail. It was just returned to me, minus some papers I had submitted as proof of their deceitful business practices, (so I know someone received it). This is the most slimy business I have ever run into. I hope someone can catch up with them before they steal anymore money from innocent people

This company uses trickery to sell their products, they have severaa products that are offered thru different ads, on line they offer them for free for completing a survey, I don't usually fall for this kind of thing, but I didn't pay attention, there isn't any small print to read, and it wasn't on their web site.
I made a mistake and listed the company name as SRS instead of SCS Health Products - Barry Folger, so this complaint is listed as well under SRS.
I was lured into this trap while watching the Rachel Ray show around Thanksgiving 2009. She invited her television viewing audience to visit her website for free products. I was greeted with the Acai Berry offer as well as another product which I don't recall. The offer which appeared in an approximate 120 point font offered a free sample with a .99 shipping cost. I placed the order. On December 16, 2009 I realized that my account had been charged $80. I contacted the number [protected]) associated with the electronic transfer, explained that I didn't knowingly place an order, was given a cancellation number and the rest is history.
I have spoken to no less than 10 representatives (A-395, A-225, A-122, etc., etc.) who all repeat the same annoying set of rules.
I contacted Florida Attorney General McCollum and did receive an automated reply acknowledging receipt of my complaint and concerns. This was on January 4, 2010. While I don't believe I will every receive reimbursement, something has to be able to be done to organizations whose total existence is based upon deception.
Now, when does the action begin? Because I am ready and more than willing to do my part to shut this operation down! What exactly does it take for any one of the following to do something to make that happen. Let's start with Banks & Securities. These are wire transactions. Who is on the receiving end of this money? Shouldn't be too hard to find that out. Or maybe the telephone company. There's an idea! How about the Post Master General? What is the legal name associated with these addresses? Or let's see, maybe even the local waste hauler might be of help. Are there lots and lots of small envelopes and packages filled with bottles of Acai Berry? Is 3007 Greene Street a huge warehouse filled with women and children tasked with ripping open the packages they receive (which would explain why they are unable to tell you if they've received your returned merchandise) for later reshipping to the next dummy (yes I'm including myself) whose antannae haven't been raised to register danger.
I don't have the answers. But I can PROMISE that I am going to do something every single day from now until I just don't feel like bothering anymore, to make them, whoever they are, pay for messing with me. Good Day!
This company will send you an advertisement for a free product where all you have to pay for is the shipping. What you don't see is that in very tiny print (mine was not even big enough to read), you are signing yourself up for a lifetime lease of paying $79.00 a month deducted from your credit card. However, the statement of that you only have to pay shipping is so huge, and the fact that you'll never pay anything else...ever. Wow..doesn't that sound great? I called the company for a refund stating that they were crooks. They laughed and told me there's not a thing I can do. Don't fall for the Acai berry scam through SCS Health products. The same product can be purchased from Rite Aid for a few bucks.
I saw an advertisement on msn.com about losing weight it was for the accai berry diet pills and colon cleanse pills, they had a trial offer to pay just shippment and handling which I did, upon receiving the product and using it . I was shock to see that I was being charge over 160.00 for 2 small bottle of pills. I contacted the company and cancel any furture order. I WAS informed that a second shippment was sent and my account charge again for 160.00 putting me into a negative balance with my bank account.The csr told me I WOULD NOT GET MY MONEY BACK UNTILL THE PRODUCT was delivered to my door and to contact them for instuction on sending back. I explaine to the csr that I want to talk to your supervisor about this situation the first time I was hungup on when I call back the next csr put me on hold for over 20 minutes no call back at all. the third time I spoke with the csr wanting to talk to her supervisor a she gave me the round around about the supervisor being to busy. I want my money back form these people and if they cant do business right in the state of florida or anywhere they need to be barred from doing any business.
The Florida Attorney General Economic Crimes Division has a case file concerning SES Health Products/FWM Laboratories. The Case No. is L09-3-1041. The case and what the company agreed to do to remedy their crimes is published on the Attorney General's website (there is an e-mail address of a contact within SES listed in the complaint. Please bombard that e-mail address). Nevertheless, the company has since violated the terms of the agreement and I have notfied the Florida Attorney General.
I have also registered my complaint against this fraudulent company with the Florida Attorney General, the Texas Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission, the Florida Better Business Bureau, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, and my credit card provider.
All of my attempts to return the Acai Berry product are well documented and were conducted long before the free trial period had run. I have the names, dates, phone numbers and times called of each employee at SES Health Products. I was notified repeatedly not to return the product and that my credit card would not be billed. I have sent certified mail to SES with all of this documentation and have spoken on the phone with them several times in an attempt to remedy this scenario. SES/FWM does not care, they claim that every employee I spoke with does not work there and they have no record that I ever contacted them.

SCS Health Products did the same thing to me. I placed the order on September 19, 2009. It took almost two weeks before I got the product and a week and a half later charged my card a total of $159.90 and I returned the product on October 2009. It is until this day and I keep getting different responses from people and have not received my credit. This is the reason I am involving everyone, BBB, Consumers Complaints Board and the Attorney Generals Office, this type of behavior should not go unnoticed...

I'm contacting my state Attorney General and state Representitive in this matter, they have more pull in a shorter amount of time than a lawyer, plus there free.
Contact first you State Attorney General and file a complaint, then start calling representatives who will listen to you, a good representative will call you back. The more the state government is involved with many states adding to the list, than it should reach the Federal Attorney General and get them involved, especially since this scam is being conducted across state lines. And if you don't know there based in Florida and the manager is Orlando Ramirez [protected].

2 different sofas
Ive have just finally finish a year and a half battle with SCS Sofas.
The short story is:
First material couch started to come apart at the seems on b0th sofas (even a 2 seater which is never used), had numerous repairs.
Finally managed to get a replacement sofa, decided this time to get a leather one - one delivery both sofas were damage. SCS were originally refusing to send me a new sofa and were insisting on me having a repair! My answer was i may aswell bought a second hand sofa.
Really cant believe the cheeck of this comapny - there next tack tick was compo! ha well that was a joke, i'd recieved a letter from there head office a few weeks earlier after i had send them 3 letters complaining about the amount of days i had taken off to allow repairs/inspectors etc (lost over £700 in earnings ive had that many days off) and there letter stated they do not offer compensation. So now they offered me comp of £80 wat a chuffing joke £80 i laughed at her and said not a chance, I then thought stuff the company i would rather sit on the floor, I have made them collect the sofa and I got a full refund and I would never recommend anyone getting a sofa from there.
So now looks like i'll have no sofa for xmas i'm hundreds of pounds down in earning, were a young couple this is our first home and we really saved for that sofa and to be treated like we have bee i think its discraceful!

Exact same happend to us, when it comes to after sales service there is none. We are in the same sitation but still waiting for a refund a month after they took the suite back. A complete waste of time and money, a very bad company to do buy from.
poor aftersales service
Bought a 3 seater and two seater from scs paid on 4 year interest free credit. "sofas took 4 weeks to arrive over the date giveni.e. 3 months arrived damaged took several complaints and phonecalls to get a "technician" to arrive on a date i wanted. Waited another two weks for them to come and fix it no joy phoned yet again assured that they would be in touch to fix the damage again no information or contact, have now told them i am rejecting the sofa and cancelling the credit agreement so we'll see if losing my business will concentrate their tiny lazy minds. Never have i done business with a more useless apathetic company who are quick to sell and then basically ignore you. Their customer services are particularly bad sending a reply to my letter of complaint with a bog standard letter a chimpanzee could have written they may as well have turned up at my house and stuck their middle finger up through my letter box and posted a dog turd as a final insult. I spent over a thousand pound with them and i now have to reclaim any money i paid and go and get another sofa. Oh by the way you are not buying your sofa from scs you are getting it from a company called sofaco who are equally apathetic and think that the customer should organise their lives around their technicians and will try to hide behind their diaries to get you to give up your working day to do their bidding. So shame on you both i hope you will go out of business as you do not deserve to be in business.

Had someone to put two sofas from s.c.s Wright forth time he only took photos of them took a statement about the problems they are so uncomfortable they put fibre in was not aware of this till the problems started they said we took ask for form we never had the choice now they say they can't put any more fibre in them so we are stuck with two sofas that are no good to sit on unless I pay them two hundred pounds to put the sofas Wright witch we can't afford my wife sits on the bed instead a six month old sofas they are that uncomfortable as she is disabled
i do agree ..bort a suite, thinking that it was ok.3 seater and a 4 seater..its not complicated.all i wanted was abit of comfort and posiible around 5 years of use..Had my old suite for 15yr and its still resting bottoms on it.
Scs are possible the worse company in the suite world of stupid people..What a farce, the setee i bort ripped at the seams, heaven forbid i mention the filling.More filling in a fry Bentos steam meat pudding..
phoned up made my complaint, so they sent a person round.OHHHH DEAR LORD HELP ME..thankfully my husband was home...what a complete ###ing idiot..he proceeded to puff my cushion up and tell TELL me how to do such a job..When i explained the creeking he ssaid that most suite have natural noises..what an utter load of [censored]e. he then got some arrows out of hos bag..YOU KNOW WHAT THE WHOLE ###ING PROCESS WAS JUST EMBASSING...this man was in my home making me feel stupid..im so angry...scs you are a shameful company...SHAMEFUL...You have sold a substarded suite which is of poor quality..my money is hard earnt and realiable...But no one gives a ### ...
bad workmanship
We brought two sofas from scs in may 2008 when it was delivered they were damaged we reported it within the hour, there customer service department promised to replace the damaged furniture.From may-Dec 2008 they kept promising to put things right, so in march2009 I took them to court it cost me £70.00 but it had the desired response within 2 weeks scs got in touch to settle out of court in full+costs.If you have a problem with scs write a letter, no response another letter giving them 14 days to fix your problem or you will go to the county court without further notice and do it, don't be afraid to go to court I did it online, it was easy for me so it would be simple for you DO IT

Ordered Sofa 4 months ago with deliver date of 14th August, got rid of old Sofa day before, since been informed that delivery will be delayed at least another 4 weeks taking it into September, checked online reviews and many others seem to have had similar experiences and now concerned with some customers stating that they have had issues with leather peeling on the same Sofa that I have ordered so now feeling very stressed been on Facebook SCS SOFA & FURNITURE COMPLAINTS Group and feeling quite gutted.

scs total disgrace not even registered with ADR so you cant complain to the ombudsmen. nigtymare.
bought a sofa from scs in july 2009, from delivary it had a creaking sound. contacted customer services and they sent someone to come out and repair it by screwing the frame. however this went on a further 4 times. until the frame eventually broke i then got conformation this was because of the amount of screws that had been put in. during this time i contacted consumer direct and they advised me on wht action i could take. i followed the advise and got offered replacement of a sofa of my chice. I am now waiting for my new sofa being deliverd. However i have had to wait 10 weeks and during this time the other side of the sofa as also broke. My mam is looking for a new sofa i have advised against buying from scs although didnt need to as she has witnessed the carry on iv had.
i too have had a problem with scs in luton and i do not even have my goods yet! myself and my partner popped in to have a look as we have recently bought a house. All our details our in our previous address but they said not to worry so we chose a sofa, paid the deposit and gave a copy of bank statement, drivers licence and our new address for delivery. Had a call a week later to say it will be delivered on monday 11th of july 2011. So i took the day off work and sat at the new house waiting. nNothing arrived so we i gave the store a call to find that the salesman was on holiday i was speaking to the acting manager of the stroe. he then called me back to tell me that our sofa's are not being delivered because we have not provided proof of id which we had and was wuite rude to me so i went to the store and spoke to the "manager". He was very rude from the off and after me explaining that we had given our id he said i was lieing and we hadnt. I said i wanted our money back and he said "no chance". He then continues to tell me he was "loosing his rag and didnt really care" after getting no where i went home and phoned the banks incase our personal information had been stolen. They took no responsibility for their actions at all. Our sales man arrived back from holiday and phoned us to apologise i went back to the store and what a suprise there was the id in our order pack! no apology from the very very rude manager and our sofa will be delivered on monday 18th of july now but after eading everyones reviews im not sure i want it! This company is hurrendous and their head offfice were no help either! Watch this space to see if a) we get our sofa's and b) if there any good!
I agree what a waste of time and Money this company is, looks like im going to war with them, Brand New Italian leather sofa Nearly £6000 2 months old and as baggy as my aunties bingo wings(They said its baggy because we sit on it and wach tv, HUHHH Wachdog anyone ?
omg does this company not value its customers, paid 500 deposit for a 5000 suite pre x-mas delivery still waiting for the correct undamaged suite on 31/05/11.sick of trying to make contact with this pathetic excuse of a company and waiting for promised phone calls that never arrive .only way to sort this out now is through the small claims court claiming my time and money and as a busy working mum something i could do without .they have no pride at all and need to be stopped !

I too have spent the last 2 years and 3...yes 3 faulty settees later still battling them regarding appallingly made products and complete lack of customer service. Not to mention the rude arrogant Branch Managers that have come and gone over 2 years They have now arranged to pick up the settee and have promised a cheque within 7 days.
Watch this space as I don't trust a word they say. They were on the verge of bankruptcy last year, it would actually be doing everyone a favour if this company simply folded and disappeared.

Totally agree with the appauling service ive just had a year and a half long battle with them (ive lost hundrend in earns with days off for inspectors etc).
Would never deal with this company again!

Finally ran out of patience and want our money back

I'm having issues. They sent the cheap nasty cushions although I've paid for the better ones , so the couch has czuse so much discomfort and pain. I've been trying to return it, they said. I am refusing a repair - a repair 🤣 sending me the correct seats is not a repair .
But they're saying they're waiting for a reply to the email to give the go ahead to order the correct ones , even though they know I've been trying to return it pretty much since having it . Weirdly , theyre still waiting for a reply to that email . I've replied 5 times !

BEWARE! 20 year warranty against manufacturing faults on sofa frames does not apply after 6 years as after then (their words) "it cannot be a manufacturing fault".
I was in my kitchen in my flat where your drivers were delivering to a flat upstairs in Waterstones area WV4 4PD, and one of your drivers actually stood by the van door and started having a wee in a bottle and then chucking it on the floor. I’ve caught this on camera and I think that is very disgusting.
Took delivery of a corner sofa and 2 chairs in Feb 2022 now August 2022 and had the most appalling journey with SCS.
Original furniture damaged. Assessed and replacement ordered but on delivery this was also damaged, 3rd replacement I refused delivery as on inspection on their van rips in fabric. Complaint logged on 20th and after not meeting their timescales to investigate and contact me I had to escalate to CEO email only then did someone call me and I accepted resolution on Mon 1st Aug since then I have had no one call me to arrange my refund - I have left several voicemails over the past 48hrs and nothing. Quick to take the cash at point of sale, failure to provide basic customer service and now avoiding my refund request.
Do not go near This company !
Waiting weeks for the section of the carpet they cut wrong to be fit. Stepping on nails, and three no shows so far for the fitter. Rude on the phone to my wife as well. Avoid this company at all costs. Once they have your money, you will be on this page too.
Top of the range leather corner sofa had bolts falling out within weeks, recliners snapped repeatedly, and leather on arms ripped within months. Despite accepting the findings of an independent report that the leather is unfit for purpose, SCS refuse to repair or refund. Highly unscrupulous retailer, you are strongly advised to avoid at all costs.

My wife and bought a carpet about a year ago from Waterlooville branch.
The carpet is still fraying I.e. Strands safe still becoming visible and away from the carpet when we hoover.
This should not be happening, what is your advise on the matter?

OMFG, I wish I had read this thread before buying a sofa, it arrived 2 months late wrong trim and the chair was totally different colour, so they sent a replacement which had wrong stitching and a hole in the back, did not even get off the truck. This was in April is now 24/10/18. Money back I think.

This does not fit in my home.
I have purchased a 3 and 4 seater and I have now had to remove the middle section of the 4 and reduced this to 2 x 3 seaters.

I got the same charity card when I bought my two corner sofas http://www.scs.co.uk/category/corner-sofas/ The numbers worked fine for me and the charity picked up our old sofa. I do agree that the sales people were a bit pushy
