I contacted Santander Consumer USA regarding a recent credit-reporting issue on an auto loan that is currently in good standing and nearly paid off. I first attempted to resolve the matter through normal customer service but was unable to reach anyone with meaningful authority to review the issue. I then escalated the matter through the CFPB in hopes of receiving an actual higher-level review. Santander denied the requested relief and provided no identifiable decision-maker or meaningful escalation channel. Instead, I was directed back to the same general customer-service number that had already been unable to resolve the matter. My frustration is not simply that I disagreed with the outcome; it is the lack of a meaningful escalation process or access to anyone empowered to exercise discretion. Based on this experience, I would not voluntarily finance another vehicle through Santander Consumer USA.
Desired outcome: Removal of the disputed recent late-payment notation and correction of my credit reporting with all consumer reporting agencies.
