In December 2020 we purchased a new Samsung dishwasher to replace our old dishwasher that had a ruptured hose which caused water damage to our finished basement and also to the kitchen cabinet that housed the dishwasher. When we purchased the dishwasher we thought it could be installed immediately; unfortunately shortly after the purchase, the insurance adjuster informed us that it could not be installed until the kitchen cabinet was rebuilt. The dishwasher sat in it's packaging unopened in our home until March 2021 when the cabinet was rebuilt.
We installed the dishwasher on Sunday, March 14th 2021. The last part of the installation was adding a kick-plate; the kick-plate has 2 tiny machine screws about 1/4"long (guessed by looking at the picture in the Owner's Manual and the kick-plate holes). We carefully searched the packaging of the dishwasher to find these 2 screws, but after much effort they were not found, we assume they were not included. On Monday, March 15/21 we contacted Samsung Parts Canada to ask them to send us the missing screws. They responded Thursday, March 18 /21 saying that they had to charge us for the"parts", I didn't think this was fair and they said to contact Samsung customer service. I chatted with customer service today to explain the situation and they said that the 2 little screws needed to be paid for because we reported them missing beyond the 48 hour after purchase deadline. I think this is terrible, we paid over $900 for the dishwasher, we purchased in good faith thinking it could be installed immediately, (it couldn't) and the screws should have been included with the new dishwasher... But were not. Just for goodwill and for the fact that we will need to replace a fridge and stove in the future, they can't send us 2 little kick-plate screws? How much could they possibly cost?
Desired outcome: I would like Samsung Canada to send me the 2 little machine screws for the kick-plate on Dishwater Model DW80R5061 - for free.
