just bought a nice, expensive 55” tv and the manual is a bad joke. it’s as if someone gave an underling a poorly written competitor’s product, and said: “we something like this, so we can say we shipped a manual”. none of the basics are there, such as a simple diagram of the ports, or what they are for. or any explanation of why the tv starts up trying to connect to the internet via wifi, but still has a wired ethernet port. or actually how to hook up a soundbar (it looks like it was supposed to be a hypertext link, but surprise, it isn’t!) if artificial intelligence can be bad, it’s no match for natural stupidity. somebody needs to take a step back and think through what a manual should be, and how users use it.

Recommendation: “abandon all hope, you who enter here.” the tv’s okay, so long as you never need any technical info.
