On 2026-01-30, I purchased an American Standard Edgemere dual flush toilet from Rona. Upon installation, I encountered an issue with the low flush cylinder, which was not functioning as expected.
Attempted Return
The following day, on 2026-01-31, I returned to Rona to seek a refund due to the malfunctioning cylinder. However, my request was initially denied. The staff stated that a refund could not be processed because the toilet had been installed.
Concerns about Return Policy
This experience raised a concern: it is not possible to determine if a toilet will work properly without first installing it. The refusal to issue a refund under these circumstances seemed unreasonable, especially for a product that must be installed to confirm its functionality.
Conclusion
Having worked in bathroom renovation for forty years, I found this experience deeply unsatisfactory. As a result, I have decided that this will be the last time I purchase anything from Rona.
