I am writing to formally report two disputed or potentially fraudulent money transfer transactions made through Remitly I am residing in New Jersey.
The transactions in question are as follows:
1. Transaction Reference: **33715946566**
2. Transaction Reference: **13912523739**
Both transfers were initiated using Remitly’s platform. However, the funds have not been delivered as intended, and I have not received any resolution or satisfactory response from Remitly’s customer support, despite multiple attempts to contact them. I had to point out to them that they had made the transfer to a UBOI UPI instead of a number starting with UPI which was the original recipient identification I had inputted and have no ability to change, The change had been made on their end, suggesting a misappropriation
I believe these transactions were mishandled or constitute fraudulent activity. I request:
- An immediate investigation into these transactions,
- A full refund of the amounts transferred,
- And, if fraud is confirmed, appropriate regulatory or legal action against the responsible party or platform.
i called Remitly and explained the situation. Since then they have been dodging the problem by saying the money has been delivered. The customer support service is so irresponsible, they keep telling you that they will call back in 24 hrs but doesn’t do that. When you call them it goes to altogether a new rep and again a wait for 24-48 hrs. I even uploaded Indian bank statement to prove that the money has not been received but after 6 days of doing nothing now they are saying the statement is invalid that too when i called them to ask for an update. I am left with no option but stop using their service. They are neither resolving problem nor giving my money back in 1-2 business days so that i can send it using some other service. I am extremely disappointed and just recommend not using remitly if you need the money to be received on timely manner and need honest answers if something goes wrong. Remitly.. what bad service.. disappointing to the core!
You guys are seriously losing customers because of this.

Thank you for your patience and for allowing us the opportunity to address your concerns. We have completed our investigation into the complaint you raised with Remitly. This is our final response.
We’ve received your complaint regarding your transfer with reference number R33715946566 for $593.05, which you reported as not received. We understand how important it is to resolve this matter, and I want to assure you that your concern has been carefully reviewed.
Upon investigation, I found that the transfer in question, processed on May 15th, was unfortunately sent to an incorrect account by you. While we understand it may not have been your intention to enter incorrect recipient information, please note that as outlined in our User Agreement, it is the sender’s responsibility to ensure the recipient details are correct before confirming the transaction.
Subject to applicable law, you, not Remitly, are responsible for any amounts that are transferred to the incorrect person because you entered incorrect information related to the Recipient for a Transaction.
As of today, we have not received confirmation of a reversal for this transfer. We also understand that you have submitted a dispute through your bank, and we’d like to confirm that this is a valid course of action. Please be advised that your bank will be handling that process directly, and it may take up to 90 days to receive a final resolution.
At the time this issue was first identified, our Customer Support Team promptly submitted a reversal request to our partner bank. However, as mentioned in our agreement, such reversals are not guaranteed.
As of today, we have not received confirmation of a reversal for this transfer. We also understand that you have submitted a dispute through your bank, and we’d like to confirm that this is a valid course of action. Please be advised that your bank will be handling that process directly, and it may take up to 90 days to receive a final resolution.
