Remitly Locked account. Cancel transfer

I signed up, sent in id and sent some money to a friend (gcash). I used online chat for some help. Later it gets rejected. I try to sign in to chat but it says my account is locked due to suspicious activity. (I just signed up earlier.) I follow the "get help" link and it goes to the help section. It says phone and email are disabled due to covid virus. Chat seems open but I have to login - but I cannot login. They have me stuck in a loop and no want to contact them. Did anyone there think of this situation or is this just a scam site?
I left voice mail on their seattle number but no return call.
I don't understand how covid impacts them. It is an online company... People can work home on the computer and phone.
I think based on what I read here... Its a scam.

Remitly Money transfer

Remitly, didn't transfer $1025.00 to a bank account in Brazil. The company has no reliable banking partner in Brazil and has no way of knowing when my funds will be deposited in the largest bank in the country, banco Brasil, their partner has lied about the funds being deposited in the account, saying it's been in the account since monday, abril. 6, 2020 and as of Wednesday, abril 2020 has not entered the account. Reference #r60781866084 to verify the transaction.
But worst of all is the lack of customer service at the site of remitly, which 4 times crashed on me while I was texting a rep. 4 hours I tried to explain my situation until a rep named isidro was able to give me some information, but didn't resolve my issue. Their marketing scam of giving the lowest cost and highest exchange rate is just a bait n switch to hold onto your funds for the longest time possible without any repercussions to the lack of a reliable banking partner in the country you are sending your funds, especially in Brazil. Now I have to have the person in Brazil send a copy of their bank statement from abril 1 to 8 to prove the funds didn't enter the account, what about their so-called bank proving they deposited the funds! Buyer beware, ceo a charlatan and pretty boy scammer who makes a snake oil pitch with nothing to back him up.

Remitly Money transfer

Remitly is truly the worst money transfer service I have ever used. But it's not okay that.. it's the worst service company I've ever interacted with. They are beyond the worst. This third rate joke of a company has no place in the financial services industry. I use TransferWise primarily and WesternUnion or MoneyGram once in a while in a pinch. I found out about Remitly and gave them a try and I cannot believe what I have just went through. The amount of time wasted. The incompetence.

I understand the need for outsourcing to India and the Philippines to pay people $100 a month to answer your calls. But do you have to hire the shoddiest most incompetent phone slaves in existence. Their call centers are a joke.

I sent a total of 5 transfers. The first two I spent over an hour on hold before being asked 20 questions and then the Filipina telling me she was approving my transaction like she was doing me a FAVOR!

Then after verifying my Identity and saying in an email that they "apologize for the time" it takes for the verification process and it's a "one time" process. And they won't need to do it again. FALSE!

I had to go through their verification questions and sending my bank statements every single time!

Then I sent $500 instead of $200 and they asked again for my bank account which I sent. Then without a word they cancelled my account and refunded the money and the Indian guy on the line laughed and said I can't use their service anymore?!?!?

Stay far away! They are a joke! Not even remotely worth the time and pain to save a couple bucks!

I send weekly money lasts longer than it should, I always have to call.but they get the money in a second.,They pay cheaper than others and do not comply.

The reference number is R94803297644. The money is not refunded in my account. Happened on 31 August 2023. What they were telling me i did that but the coustmer service also insulting the coustmer. I also want the investigation on coustmer service agent.

Remitly is fraud. They took money and never received to the right account. They kept telling that reversal is on the way but now they are saying the money is received to the account.

I transfer funds to my mother on Mar 24,2023 and i received notification that funds have been transferred on Mar 30, 2023. When i enquired my mother, she showed that she didn't receive any funds. I made several request to Remitly on phone, email and on their website but i am still waiting for refund..

pls i try to reset my password so i was ask to fill in my date of birth and my date of birth is 24-08-1964 but the system rejected it because it does notmatch with my old date of birth now now ? something is wrong.

pls solve this problem for me.

I wouldn't say Remitly was a bad service. In fact, I was quite happy with them for quite some time.
And suddenly, someone or somebody decided to get ugly wanting my banking statement for months in arrears. No way was I going to do that. Remitly just got snotty and cancelled an existing transfer. OK, no problem. I do not know if they cancelled my account or not as I just quit dealing with the insolent sob's. I found a much easier and more friendly service that didn't even charge as much. If you have a problem with some jerks at Remitly, try doing business with WorldRemit. I am extremely happy with them. But, if anyone does have problems with WR I would like to know. :)
