Arrived at east cowes ferry terminal and checked in, after loading onto the boat and departing East Cowes we were told that the ferry had no WiFi, no food and no drinks at all.. had we been told at check-in we would have spent the time going to the shops instead of waiting in the car park.
Later we arrived at the check in at southampton to watch the cars being loaded onto the top and bottom deck, the man in the booth took over 5 minutes to check in a lorry at the gates, they then allowed the lorry straight onto the ferry and told us we'd have to wait over an hour for the next ferry, despite the fact the ferry was still being loaded for the 5:00 sailing.
After parking we noticed the gates were still open on the ferry and carpark so we went to ask why we werent being allowed on despite them still loading, we were told the captain wanted the lorry to be the last vehicle and didn't care that we were behind it waiting and "thats the captains orders"
The ferry then remained open until 5:05pm while multiple cars had to wait along side us. Not overly sure why the lorry was allowed on and the cars were not despite checking in at the exact same time.
My only advice to people would be to use Wightlink as Red funnel clearly don't care about their passengers.
