Complaint Against Rainking Purification Systems

I am filing this complaint against Rainking Purification Systems because of what I believe to be deceptive business practices, unauthorized access to my consumer credit information, repeated harassment, misrepresentations during the sales process, and the wrongful attempt to remove equipment from my home without notice.

My experience began when a Rainking sales representative named Jaylen came to my home and sold us a water purification system. During his initial visit, he requested permission to run my credit for financing purposes. I authorized one credit inquiry for that purpose. After my credit was reviewed, I was informed that I had not been approved for financing.

Despite the financing denial, Rainking Purification Systems made the decision to proceed with the installation of the system anyway. At no point did I instruct the company to install the system without approved financing. That decision was made solely by Rainking.

After the installation, the company's conduct became increasingly concerning. Representatives repeatedly contacted me requesting permission to run my credit again, despite already having obtained my credit report and a financing decision. There was no legitimate reason for repeated credit applications after the initial denial.

The company continually pressured me to authorize another credit inquiry and even attempted to have me sign another authorization form. I refused because I had already completed the financing process once and saw no reason for additional inquiries.

Despite my refusal, Rainking Purification Systems later conducted another credit inquiry without my knowledge or authorization. If accurate, this unauthorized inquiry raises serious concerns under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S. C. § 1681b), which generally requires a permissible purpose before a company may obtain a consumer's credit report.

During the sales presentation, Jaylen also made a specific promise that influenced our decision to proceed. He stated that we would receive six months of service free of charge, explaining, "I use my boss's card on my phone." Based on that representation, we understood that the first six months of service would be covered and that we would not receive monthly billing during that period.

After the system had already been installed, Rainking changed its position and stated that an invoice would be sent to us. This directly contradicted the representations that were made during the sales process and raises serious concerns about deceptive sales practices.

The situation escalated even further when, without any prior notice, Rainking sent employees to my home to remove the system. I received no phone call, no email, no text message, no certified letter, and no appointment request advising that anyone would be coming to my property.

At the time they arrived, I was inside my home working and was unable to answer the door immediately. When I later went outside, I discovered Rainking employees already in the process of uninstalling the water purification system from my home.

During my interaction with those employees, I was informed that they had been told I no longer wanted the system. That statement is completely false. At no time did I ever tell Jaylen, Rainking Purification Systems, or any representative of the company that I wanted the system removed or that I no longer wanted it. I was never contacted before they arrived, never asked whether I wished to keep the system, and never given an opportunity to discuss the matter. If company personnel were instructed that I no longer wanted the system, they were acting on false information that did not come from me.

This entire course of conduct demonstrates a pattern of misleading representations, poor communication, unnecessary pressure, and disregard for consumers' rights. Rainking installed equipment after financing had already been denied, repeatedly pressured me to authorize additional credit inquiries, allegedly obtained another credit report without my permission, made promises regarding six months of free service that were later abandoned, and then attempted to remove installed equipment from my home without any advance notice while falsely telling its employees that I had requested its removal.

Notice of Additional Regulatory Complaints

Due to the seriousness of Rainking Purification Systems' conduct, I will also be forwarding this complaint, along with all supporting documentation, to the appropriate federal and state agencies for investigation, including but not limited to:

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regarding the unauthorized credit inquiry and any violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Florida Attorney General's Office regarding deceptive and unfair business practices.
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Division of Consumer Services, regarding deceptive sales practices.
Better Business Bureau (BBB) to document this company's business practices and alert other consumers.
The applicable credit reporting agencies to dispute any unauthorized credit inquiry appearing on my credit reports.

If Rainking Purification Systems does not resolve this matter promptly, I will also evaluate all available civil remedies under both federal and Florida law.

I have preserved, and will continue to preserve, all documentation relating to this matter, including contracts, invoices, text messages, emails, credit reports, photographs, witness statements, and any other evidence relevant to this dispute.

Requested Resolution

I respectfully request that Rainking Purification Systems provide the following:

A complete written explanation identifying every occasion on which my credit was accessed, including the date of each inquiry and the legal basis relied upon for obtaining my consumer report.
Copies of every credit authorization, financing application, contract, work order, invoice, and any other document that the company claims authorized its actions.
Written confirmation that any unauthorized credit inquiry will be removed or corrected through the appropriate credit reporting channels.
Written confirmation that my account reflects a zero balance, if the company has elected to remove the system, and confirmation that no negative information relating to this matter will be reported to any consumer reporting agency.
Compensation for any damages resulting from any unauthorized credit inquiry and the company's deceptive business practices, to the extent supported by law.
A formal investigation into Rainking Purification Systems' sales, financing, and customer service practices to determine whether other consumers have experienced similar conduct.

Consumers should not be subjected to repeated pressure to authorize additional credit inquiries, misleading sales promises, unauthorized access to their credit information, or surprise attempts to remove installed equipment without prior notice. I respectfully request a thorough investigation into this matter and a prompt written response.

Thank you for your attention to this serious consumer complaint.

Sincerely,

Michael Edwin Ruiz

Recommendation: Do not do business with this company.
