Crime Reference Number: 26000442341
I spoke to a member of your team today. I explained that I tried to report the theft as soon as it happened, but I was on holiday abroad and was unable to get through immediately. The police advised me not to worry and to report it as soon as I returned to the UK, which I did.
Unfortunately, I found it difficult to understand everything that was explained to me over the phone. I would therefore be grateful if you could confirm by email what the next steps in the claims process will be.
This has been an extremely distressing experience for me and my family. My wife and I worked hard all year to be able to go on holiday, only to discover that while we were away our home was broken into. A number of items were stolen, including my motorcycle, which I had owned and looked after for many years.
The motorcycle was kept securely in my locked garage, covered, with my wife's car parked in front of the garage door. The offenders broke into our home, found the keys to both the car and the motorcycle, moved the car out of the way, and stole the bike.
The motorcycle was fully insured and taxed. Although the MOT had expired, I had not renewed it yet because I had been busy with work and was about to go on holiday. I intended to arrange the MOT as soon as I returned. The motorcycle was in excellent condition, well maintained, and fully roadworthy. As it was stored securely in my garage and not being ridden, I understood that this would not be an issue.
I would appreciate it if you could let me know what information or documents you require from me and explain the next steps in dealing with my claim.
regards,
