PBP called me and asked me if I wanted to try their "Marketing Report" publication for free. I agreed to the terms to "try" it and to cancel within three months if I didn't think it was worth it. Three days later, our accounting department received an invoice for annual subscription for 20 people to "Selling Advantage" for $864.00 with MY name on it. It also stated that this was their "3rd Notice." Not only did I not sign up for that newsletter, I did not sign up for 20 people, I did not ever receive any report. Also, it was THREE days after the initial call -- no possible way for me to receive ANY other notices. I had dealt with these people before but that's THAT! PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ENTITY IN ANY WAY. They are obviously scam artists in their business model. Can't people figure out a better way to sell their product and make money? GET REAL!

Oh yeah, that's another fun thing this place does...aside from their "usual" subscriptions, they have ones where you can order a subscription for your whole department. These are the titles that the "expert" newsletter slingers sell while the novices sell the regular ones.
They know their product is crap, so the only way they can sell it is to swindle people by tricking them into thinking they need these stupid newsletters or making people think they're useful. I've read several of the newsletters (I used to work for them), and the information is honestly stuff you can find online for free. These newsletters aren't even worth a normal publication subscription price, let alone several hundred dollars.
Sorry to hear yet another person has fallen victim to this company's dishonest sales tactics. As far as what you received, it's possible they may have sold something to someone else at your place of work who had the things sent and billed in your name. Even if a sales rep doesn't get the right manager on the phone, they might try and sell to someone else by saying, "Oh, surely your boss values your opinion! If you looked at this and found it useful, you'd recommend it for the budget, right?"
Please send your complaints about fraudulent conduct regarding International Credit Recovery Inc. and Progressive Business Publications to the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, E consumer .gov, the Better Business Bureau, and/or your local General Attorney's office.
