Sorry for your loss. Society does have compassion but Best Buy is a business and follows rules for exchange or return of your item anytime from the original purchase date within the timeframe below:
* 14 days for computers, monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, iPads, tablets and radar detectors
* 30 days for all other products
* 45 days for all products for Reward Zone Program Premier Silver members*
You could try writing to corporate explaining the situation. With what you’ve been through, I am sure returning the extra I-pod touch was the furthest thing from your mind.
The fact they know it is a lemon and won’t allow you to return it is insane. They just want to push more extended warranties that make a hefty profit for them.
Morally I feel it’s wrong but the new Sears just cares about money and not customer satisfaction. Call you local BBB and see if in fact the Lemon Laws in your state may help you.
Sears Outlet stores and scratch and dent appliances can be a good value. Always research the item first to be sure it is not a problematic lemon.
U-haul stores just rent and sell U-haul products, have experts working there and are not bad. Most gas stations that rent U-hauls have gas station attendants with just enough training to get your trailer or truck paperwork filled out and quick hook you up. But you can't show up three minutes before they close on a Sunday and expect them to serve you. Next time you rent a trailer, say you're using it local but make sure you return it to the same place you rented it from and before they close. Otherwise you'll get charged for another days rent.
Every rental contract has the Hotline number that you are supposed to call if you have trouble DURING your move. If you called it DURING your move they would have come out and fixed your tire.
Did you just ask them to hold it for you or did you have a firm reservation that was put on a credit card? If money was not put down, first paying customer always wins.
You came to the UPS Store to ship a package. You did not have the package properly sealed. You needed one strip of tape to finish the packaging. They sold you the tape for $2.00. You became upset. I don't see a complaint with the UPS Store.
Your motorcycle insurance company should be handling this claim against Hertz. That's if you have insurance.
From HERTZ customer support:
Q: Can I use another person's credit or debit card for payment of my rental?
A: Charge cards and debit cards must be in the renter's name. The renter's name must be embossed on the front of the card.
You ignored the rules and tried to rent a car using someone else’s card. Their staff found the fraudulent attempt and they cancelled your rental.
Q: What can I do if I do not have a credit or debit card in my name?
A: Cash Rentals are accepted with a Cash Deposit ID Card. Applications for a Cash Deposit ID Card are available from your local Hertz Office. Applicant must be 18 years or older and the application process takes approximately 30 days. There is a $15USD nonrefundable processing fee. A Hertz Cash deposit ID Card may be used at a Hertz Location.
Rules are rules.
Buy your TV from Amason.com next time. We bought a flat screen TV from Amazon. Included free delivery by UPS. The box looked fine when delivered but when we opened it up, the element behind the glass had a huge crack in it. We called Amazon about the damage and they shipped another TV the next day with a private carrier. When they delivered the new TV, they took back the broken one. Amazon is great!
A better word of warning:
If you have a storage unit with any self-storage facility, pay your rental fees on time.
If they don't fix your fence, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau near you and go to you local small claims court and file a claim. If other seniors in your group were also taken for a ride by these thieves, contact the police. Police don’t like ### that prey on senior citizens. Good luck.
Amazon has it for less. $6.99 + $4.99 shipping each.

If they told you they were busy, you wouldn't have come in. They lied to you. That's reason enough to not trust them.
If it required a signature, why could UPS not get in the building? They did try first to deliver it to the correct address and no one was there to sign for the package. You paid for "next day" delivery, no one was there to let them in and they did what was required to complete the delivery "next day". If you live in an apartment with enclosed multiple mailboxes, the Postal service has access keys to get into the lobby to deliver mail. UPS does not have access keys. Is that the reason UPS could not get in?
Why don't you show us the picture you have on your phone of the tag ?
Go "Carrie" on them. They deserve it.
Return the refrigerator to Sears. It is defective and they haven't fixed it.
Always carry-on valuables unless your stowed below luggage has locks. If your luggage does not lock, don't use it. You can buy miniature pad locks for luggage with sippers. As it takes tools and time to remove locks, thieves will bypass your bags for easier targets. If the TSA wants to see what's inside your locked luggage, they will get you to open it up.
Make sure your doorbell works. If the driver actually took the time to deliver it to your home and no one answered the door, he probably thought it was a scam order and left to deliver the other pizza in his car.
"On Friday, July 29 2007 i purchased a Weber grill."
" Today i received a reply stating that that the rebate was invalid."
Over three years later? Who pays you people to make this stuff up?
I am tired of the commercial spammers on this site too but found a solution.
If you find SPAM in any of the complaints or comments, click on that spammer senders name and it opens up their entire profile page showing how many times they spammed a comment.
Copy that spammers entire browser web address(s) and send it to "ComplaintsBoard.com"
In subject line put: COMMERCIAL SPAMMERS
Example browser web address:
http://www.complaintsboard.com/panel.php?action=profile&id=706212
http://www.complaintsboard.com/panel.php?action=profile&id=706226
http://www.complaintsboard.com/panel.php?action=profile&id=706167
Put as many spammers profiles addresses in the email as you find before sending it off.
Complaintsboard actually looks at the this activity, removes the spammers and sends a thank you email for helping them. We outnumber the spammers and respect free speech but we want this to remain a good site for complaints information and helping others.
Yes the spammers will just open another account and user name but we outnumber them.
Together we can stop or at least help keep this site clean. It only takes as much time to do that as it takes to post a comment. I have suggested to Complaintsboard that we need a SPAM button but till they give us one, lets help delete the spam.
You arrived underfed because you refused to eat dinner when it was offered. Your decision to not eat was yours, not British Airways. They tried to feed you, you refused. Every passenger was offered food. Open wide next time the airplane tries to land in the hanger.
Your neighborhood suffers?
I don't think so.
Try picking up your pizza.
Return it back to Sears if it is defective. If you paid for delivery, return delivery (if item is defective) is included. That's what they have printed on the receipts from my store.
