one thing you have to be aware of is that there are some cases of things that dont work even though you just pulled it out of the box. i would contact walmart and let them know. they may swap it with another one. you are on the right line by calling tech support though. but, blaming cnet isnt correct. they based their review on a working model.

ive never had a problem. ive had tape measures that had gotten all froze up from getting dirt inside of it. ive gotten those replaced easy. ive also had a very old craftsman hammer that was obviously discontinued. although, they couldnt accept it for a one on one trade, they gave me a discounted rate on a new hammer. i didnt find anything wrong with that practice
it isnt thier place to have to reimburse you for other services. your netflix account is able to be used without internet in your home. the fact that you rely on phone service to work through your internet is something you take a risk on. personally, i can sit on hold for an hour and not care. but, im not the one using a prepaid phone. the use of your phone is your responsibility. not theirs.
