perhaps you should blame the quality on the manufacturer of the item. your blaming a company that gives equal opportunity to all manufacturers by giving them the ability to sell that product in their store.

they are advertising that they are on sale. not that they are in stock. you will probably find that there is a disclaimer that says "while supplies last". have them raincheck the item so you can get it once they get one in stock

but, you can still use computer tech and glass contractor as comparable. by the sounds of his original statement, he orders the stuff on a need basis. at that point, you wouldnt need to stock anything. therefore, dont need an actual office. there are other contractors such as plumbers, carpenters, etc that dont need offices either. they order the stuff they need load it into their trucks, trailers, vans, garage. etc. or they will even just have it sent to the jobsite or pick it up on a need basis at a lowes/home depot.
filing bankruptcy can also be caused by deadbeats such as yourself that order a service, once parts come in, they cancel. all of a sudden, the cost of equipment that you cant use has been loaded onto your shoulders.
p.s. you would be surprised at the cost of computers. your piddly computer that your typing on right now, i could build for 500$. i could also build a high end computer, such as the one im using right now, for 1k. but, i have also worked on computers and equipment that range from 10-15k. these are called servers and you would be surprised at the cost of some of these items.
