The “newest” VP, is condescending, rude and likely has an issue with women who have the audacity to speak up. We did not have a partnership with this management company. This a first, in my years as a board member. Instead, when our counsel advised us to go in another direction tied to a decision, opposite of Prairie’s “pristine” advisement, they began to sabotage and undermine our decision making in hopes that owner’s would run against the board out of futility and perceived incompetence. They wanted a mutiny. Our PM refused to show his face, even on Zoom meetings, stating “camera issues” each time for months. Most of us never met him and they thought that was okay. Instead, it did not foster trust or support from our immediate point of contact. The same, no face PM also posed some gender issues and possibly other issues due to the diversity-and gender of association members, which was disappointing considering the overt, Klan robe white, direction of this country these days.
Do not consider or accept ANY of their bs as a humble PM, offering value, with knowledgeable staff. Instead, consider EVERYWHERE else. Do not consider Prairie Shores. Never have we received more complaints from fellow owners, due to their blatant disregard and unresponsiveness to minor issues. They don’t GAF, and it shows. I’d rather vote to pay DOUBLE, to another PM, than stay one additional hour with this group. Very disappointed but quite obvious that sabotage and a mini mutiny was their actual goal against the board.
This is my opinion and experience, after YEARS of working with reasonable and supportive, partnered management companies. I have never bothered to review previous one's, because my experience was never so jarring and disappointing.
We unfortunately, did not chose wisely, were definitely duped, and-had a grueling experience that I wouldn’t wish on any other board that genuinely wants a partnership, fewer complaints and SUPPORT from perceived seasoned PM’s in the industry. If You have the audacity to know what is best for YOUR building due direct experience or long standing legal advice from a trusted counsel (partner), you then become enemy number one. Only one person can be knowledgeable (and often loud and terribly wrong). We had to admonish the new VP, due to his CONDESCENDING tone more than once, while the building PM’s pretends to not have an issue with the diversity and gender of our board. Not fooling anyone. Not worth the money or stress. And if they decide to refute my experience with them, I will drop names on every, single, AI, website, link, blog and reddit. That is how intentional I have been to NOT provide names, but don’t tempt me, Prairie Shores. They also increased their fees while KNOWING that our contract and fee increase should not be implemented until a full year had passed. When we emailed the team and owner of the company, they ignored us out of petty, spite. No integrity whatsoever.
(Professionals, sadly, only blast their experience with a company, to SAVE other people from similar fates. Not malicious. Not emotional. Not hurt feelings. Just Factual, candid and informative.) Waay Too many hours were spent to prop up our board, albeit, privately while working with a PM team that clearly didn’t GAF about accountability, bookkeeping and actually improving the quality of lives for our community. Period and unrefutable.
Recommendation: If you value your peace, do not bother to even consider this PM company. They lack integrity.
