Plato's Closet review: gift card

I have purchased or attempted to purchase gift cards at this Platos Closet location in Dulles Virginia on multiple occasions (probably 10 - 15 times). I buy them for my daughters (age 25 - 30) as birthday or holiday presents. Every time is a HUGE debacle. At least half the time, I leave without a gift card because either the equipment isn't working or the employees don't know how to do it. On most occasions it takes upwards of an hour of them attempting multiple cards before either I leave disappointed without a card, or someone gets lucky and is able to activate the card. On one occasion I left with what I thought was an activated $50 card and gave it to my daughter as a gift. She went to use it at a store in Florida and was told there was no money on it. After many phone calls and arguments, the store finally made good on the card and my daughter got her $50. One of the times they weren't able to get it activated, I had to drive an hour and 15 minutes to the next closest Platos in Fairfax to get a gift card. They had no trouble with the process. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a gift card. This store (general manager name - Jerusa) really needs to either fix their equipment and / or train their employees on how to activate gift cards. Just a totally frustrating experience EVERY single time I try. Will not be going back.
