I want to talk about my puppy that I got from Pet Land Pet store in Pensacola, Florida. I noticed that as my puppy grew up, she didn't act like the breed she was supposed to be. So, I decided to get a DNA test done on her from a really good company that does dog DNA tests. I paid extra for a health check too. When I got the results, I was really surprised. It turns out that my puppy is only 18.8% Coton De Tulear, not the full breed like they said. Her parents are also mixed breeds, with one being a Bichon Frise mix. The only Coton De Tulear in her family is one grandparent. Pet Land doesn't breed the dogs themselves, but they sell them and give you papers saying what breed they are. If you buy a puppy from a pet store and they say it's a purebred, but it turns out to be a mix, that's not right. The store and the breeder should take responsibility for that. The store should give me some money back and if they want to, they can ask the breeder for compensation too. I really think I got tricked into buying a mutt instead of a purebred dog. It's not fair and it's not right. My dog is only 18.8% of the breed they said she was.

I got a Silky Terrier puppy from Petland Pensacola on September 21. The puppy had some issues. One of the main problems is that all four paws have a rare birth effect where the finger digits are fused together. We had three different vets look at the puppy and they told us that the birth defect could be fixed with surgery. This defect affects the puppy's ability to live a healthy life because he loses balance when he runs and sometimes hops instead. We followed the warranty guidelines and filed a claim through Pet Solution. After many months of back and forth, Petland first offered to give us a full refund if we returned the puppy. I said no to that offer. Then they told us that they think the surgery would be cosmetic and they won't cover it. Pet Solution said they will close the case. I have a letter from a vet saying that the surgery is necessary and another vet agreed. The vet that Petland hired said it's a rare defect. The warranty that Petland and I signed says that if a vet diagnoses a hereditary or congenital disorder before the puppy's first birthday that interferes with the puppy's ability to live a normal life, Petland will let us return the puppy for a full refund or reimburse us for medical treatment up to the original purchase price. We want to keep the puppy and get the problem fixed.
