Penn Foster tuition/enrollment

I enrolled for $1 completed the first assignment, they then cancelled me. They said I was behind in tuition because they sent a $75 fee to my bank and the money wasn't in there. My 1st payment was supposed to be February 7th, 2019. So no the money was not available because I didn't agree to this. The agreement was I enrolled for $1 with a monthly payment of $79.I don't know where they got $75. So they are telling me I have to pay $35 return check fee in order to resume the program. One lady told me $70 I don't know. I feel my program should be resumed and I shouldn't be liable for anything since that wasn't the agreement.

Penn Foster enrollment $1 and ended up with a $1564 debt in my credit.

Enrolling with penn foster won't be a good choice, once you enroll in the program and cancel fee will be charge, it will be added to your credit. Access limitation will be granted for a $1. For the first lessons, which are probably consider a 10% of completed kindergarten assignment. Is a joke
They will have a 3rd party collector. Call business bureau and file a complaint! If you are encounter with this issue.

Penn Foster unknown fees

Penn Foster pulled $178.50 from my account without my permission and I have no idea what they charged me for. I am beyond outraged and considering cancelling my membership. I have paid my finances in full, I don't owe them anything! I would like to know why they are pulling random funds from me without giving me a warning or letting me know what I supposedly owe them for.

Penn Foster canceling and debt

for the vet tech. Due to an medical illness, I had to cancel my account, I didn't even do one month. I made my first payment.
No one told me there was going to be an ugly cancelation fee. I requested a bill stating how you came up with the amount since I didn't even receive my contract. I received two different sets for payments for the same time but no contract. I couldn't even go into the account online.

website says $1597 if made in payments, it also says there is a 10% fee to cancel. Therefore, it should be only $159.70 but it's at $900.
I called and no one will help. now Ability recovering services is calling and they are rude... How can they charge amount without telling you details of the amount?

Penn Foster veterinary technician program

I enrolled into Penn Foster's vet tech program on 10/5/2017. After a series of welcome messages and links to additional courses and programs they want you to enroll into, and attending a webinar that was titled "The Great Veterinary Technician" webinar I was starting to believe that I wasn't enrolled into the right program. The sales reps that take your call for enrollment agree with everything you say and give you misleading and false information about the program and repeatedly ask for your credit card. They also tempt you more by saying they will match your payment with their own money to get the tuition more affordable. Total scam. After viewing an overblown marketing ploy of six former vet techs from the program all speaking about their life stories and praising Penn Foster, which was close to 2 1/2 hours of of technical sound issues and more sales pitches for Penn Foster, I failed to see the value of this "great" webinar and asked numerous questions about the program that was completely ignored during the session. I didn't actually learn about what the requirements were for the program until I heard the speakers discussing how they struggled through it but would still recommend Penn Foster. This was a big eye opener for me and they were also marketing a new veterinary hospital manager program that will be launching soon. I failed to see how this was a "Great Veterinary Technician" webinar for new students when they barely talk about the requirements for the program and try and sell other programs that are not even offered yet. I messaged the director personally and he read my message and then did not reply to me until the late afternoon the next day and completely contradicted himself with the question I asked about having a disability by stating I could receive a ADA form but would still need to complete the externship requirement even with the form and would still be charged. It was a huge mistake for me to enroll, and I had major issues with the team getting back to me about my transcript evaluation, program externship requirements and fees associated with such. It is a complete rip off and do not enroll. I am very disappointed that this college can get away with scamming students who really feel they have an option beyond traditional on campus college programs. Their communication is practically non existent, they are dishonest about fees, they try and up sell more programs and they do not disclose the actual fees associated with the program you are enrolling. Stay away! I wish there was more we can do than just complain online that would actually affect their business. I cancelled my enrollment and still have not heard back from the office to confirm my cancellation. They are also charging me $300 to cancel when I only completed one exam. This is not the way to do business.

Penn Foster refund

I was owed a refund 1 year and 6 months ago... I called In June of 2016 to ask about my refund the told me that my account was closed and that they had to reopen it and that I had to get a letter from my bank stating the credit card I used had a zero balance because the credit card I used to make payment was expired. I got the letter faxed it to them.. I get a call saying that the letter was no good I needed to a different letter. At this point am mad already I spoke to Jennifer I told her I wanted a disclaimer where it's said that I need a letter from my bank... I also told her it's against the law to keeps someone's refund at this point Penn Foster should be paying me interest with my refund for keeping it for so long... Jennifer said she would ask her accounting department about the disclaimers I also told what if I can't get the letter you want what are you going to do with my refund keep it? Jennifer said she would ask and call me back. Jennifer did call me back and said we will be mailing out your refund check today you should get it in mail... I spoke to to Jennifer on July 6 2017 and it's July 19th 2017 and I still don't have my refund... It's crazy that I had to call them for my refund when they should of done it on there own...The question is How many people have they done this to... How many people have Penn Foster closed there account and they where owed a refund and Penn Poster keeped it!

Penn Foster grading and follow up

I you are an independent learner than the program is for you. Problem is most brick and mortar colleges will not take your classes and transfer the credits. Another thing is there are loop holes you have to jump through in order to complete a single semester. To be specific I completed an essay over four months ago and it was "loss" and I had to resubmit it, no one called to inform me or anything, I completed my other classes and waited over three weeks expecting my finals to arrive and they never came. So I called and asked what happened and they told me I had to resubmit it. Okay no problem, I resubmitted the essay and they informed me it did not receive a passing grade, so I asked them to fail me because I work two jobs now and cannot take the time to waste of this game of tag. It also takes usually 15-30 minutes to get a hold of an instructor because the call volume is so backed up. Also the material needs to be updated badly.

Penn Foster stay away

I have nothing good to say about this Penn Foster, I was not satisfied with it and in my opinion the whole thing is just a waste of time and money. They hardly update their website and materials, they don't teach you anything. I don't know why someone even uses this site. I fell for the positive reviews which were actually fake and only wasted my money which they (of course) refused to give back. Stay away.

Penn Foster russell day

I agree with the other poster that Chairman Russell Day will send emails out threatening to lead to disciplinary action. In their student handbook they state: "Never misrepresent the school or its staff in any online social communities."

And if you do so that's grounds for "disciplinary actions." If they send you "thinly veiled threats" – make sure to tell them you'll take them to court for libel, harassment, and/or wrongful punishment including punitive damages.

Penn Foster has been sued in the past for misleading and trying to intimidate students and for which they lost $60, 000 in penalties.

They are not a regionally accredited school, nor is their "schools" recognized by any legitimate institutions.

The only reason why I took a few courses here was being a regionally accredited college would accept them for credit, but otherwise if you're going here to get a degree, then you are wasting your time and money.

Penn Foster lessons and grading

Below is an example of the "teaching" at Penn Foster Teachers are just graders who have no knowledge of the lessons they are grading. Some lessons have not been updated in years. Many of the programs have some of the same "filler" material that has nothing to do with what you're studying. This is what I said about my grade: RE: grading Karen Huber [protected]-028005 I believe I completed the assignment as asked. Your comment shows that you are unaware of what was asked in the assignment. This is what the "grader" said: Comment [WU3]: The assignment asks for the first paragraph to focus on the solution to the problem. The second paragraph should focus on the benefits of the solution. This is what the actual assignment said: Section 1 • Facts and figures that define the problem (the cause) • Details that show the impact of the problem (effects) on Jack, Ruth, and the company Section 2 • The steps needed to change the situation • Reason to implement each step, including the benefits to your employees, your supervisor, and the company • Information about your role in the change could not upload .pdf files for illustration This school really needs to get its act together. I didn't write a remarkable PhD thesis for the project, but I did follow instructions. Thank you for your help.

Penn Foster charged $ & put bad credit report after only 1 wk of enrollment

My daughter Angela Hinojosa joined and payed down payment on Penn Foster High School program. She decided she wanted to go to a College here in San Antonio, Tx. and receive her GED. Well she called after a week or two later wanting to cancel & they charged her $250.00 dollars which by the way was not told to us if she decided to cancel. It is now on her credit and she had no credit or problems until this. Angela is only 19 and is very good person and does not deserve this school to ruin her reputation and credit! Can you please help us? She has a car payment she makes on time and conn's credit which is in good standing. Thank you for your time & hopefully we can get this resolved & she can go on in life with good credit.

Penn Foster scam/fraud/abuse

Anonymous writer: To all the public be aware!

Do not enroll at Penn Foster school they will scam your money and if you complaint put a summons on you for no reason by a Judge by the name of Judge Paul J Ware whom thinks he is Gods gift to humanity that no one should be allowed to touch him. He is not a very good judge and is a cheater and a liar and should not ever be a judge because he abuses the students at Penn Foster and collects money and charges them for crimes they did not commit. So beware of Penn Foster School. Do your home and by their own State Police's administrative department where I filed a formal complaint against this school and the Judge Paul J Ware out of Dunmore PA who thinks he is God and can play God on any ones life is a big fraud and probably that Penn Foster has set up to do their dirty work to miss use his power to scam and threaten many innocent victims like myself for no reason to extort money from them. I suspect that is the set up with Penn Foster and this Judge Paul J Ware to extort from out of state students thinking because they don't no the PA state laws that they could attack many out of state students fraudulently. So if anyone has experienced this type of criminal activity while enrolled at Penn Foster do not hesitate to file a complaint. And for those of you thinking about going to Penn Foster these people are criminal do not ever bother to even go to their school a very bad choice!

Don't Need Advise

I already have a very good education from a very reputable school that understands the value of education and the value of good communications skills which obviously this school does not have and nor does it have any high scale qualities either only bad teachers and employees that only are there to serve themselves. As I see it, it seems to me that you could use a good education also as your English and grammar does need a bit of brushing up! Why don't you look at yourself in the mirror and ask everyday why I am here? Is it to blame others that you do not know anything about and or their situation or are you here on earth just to get off giving bad suggestions. Why don't you take my advise and don't give any! If I need your advise I will ask for it but in this case I didn't! Why don't you do some research and look at all the complaints they already have against them for scam and fraud and abuse. I believe these are innocent victims of Penn Fosters. Oh and go and get yourself a very good English teacher while you are at it! You really could also learn some manners!

Penn Foster forced to buy books

My son was enrolled in Job Corps program finishing High School credits, this program helps youth who want and are interested better their lives and is also paid by the government, after two years of my son being in the program he was kicked out of the program due to lack of not being able to finish his High School credits, he was not able to finish High School or get his High School Diploma . I felt that he lost his time for nothing, as a father I was frustrated and desperate for help, because I wanted my son to finish High School which is essential for his future. Someone from Job Corps gave him a phone number of Pennfoster to call and get more information of how to finish his High School credits so he can graduate and get his High School Diploma. I call the lady and she told me that in order for him to finish his High School credits he needed to pay 295 dollars worth of books and without it he couldn't take the classes to finish his High School credits, but that we must first pay 295 dollars to get started. Desperate to help my son get his High School Diploma I was forced to pay that amount at that time, eventhough I am on a tight budget. Later, while my son was taking the classes online I found out that I didn't need to buy those books yet until he finish his classes online, and now my son doesn't feel like studying or finishing any credits and I find myself stuck with these books that I don't need.

Penn Foster wrongly accused of account

I have never had an account with Penn Foster. My son and I have the same names but his includes II. For some reason NOBODY includes the II on his name. He enrolled in this school but because THEY DO NOT have a Social Security Number on File THEY WILL NOT take HIS bill off of MY credit report. Apparently they want their money and will do whatever it takes to get it even if an INNOCENT person has to pay. I WILL NEVER USE THIS SCHOOL NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYBODY ELSE. Please fix this problem ASAP~!~

I've had the same problem. I've been enrolled since May, have gotten through 2 courses and I'm just now getting my books. The thing is they sent me books for the courses I already finished, so now the books are pretty much useless. And honestly, your daughter isn't missing anything. The books are EXACTLY like the study units online. Word for word. The only thing I like is it's easier to do the Self Check with the book. I had to call Penn Foster to get my books.

Penn Foster abuse!!!

Penn foster school a big scam! Do not attend! Russell day education chairman is a bad director and also their student serive is bad and gives bad and abusive service revokes students in the middle of the course for no reason even when the student are making a grade of 3.0 average and accuses students for violations that they never did! Then they try to extort the rest of the money $640.00 and make you pay without finishing your classes! They have bad review from many other students! They will tell you also not to file a complaint against them even if you were wronged by them! That is against the law to intimidate some because they filed a ligitamate complaint against penn foster and the alleged people that did the wrong! Human relation commission of harrisbur, pa informed me that you most certainly have every right to file a complaintst against a business especially if you know you were definetely wronged in my case I know I was wrong by penn foster and their staff and their education department! But I will let the human commission and the better business bureau handle my claim! Anyone thinking of going to this school don"t! A very big mistake! And those that are their taking classes beware of russell day the bad education director chairman whom is a big jerk and big con man! And no respect for the students! But he and penn foster I can make sure will not get away with what they did! I want all of my personal information removed immediately! And the revoked status or I will give this school such a bad name that penn foster will loose their business and shut down in no time! Go to ashworth much better school and service is excellent! Penn foster is nothing but a big scam!

A lousy newspaper company, that has encouraged & supported racist business policies in the Augusta area; discriminating against minorities based on race & sex! The worst part, is their committment to allowing scam artists, illegal, unethical, and illegitimate/unlicensed businesses to advertise & post articles in their paper, scamming and conning unsuspecting customers, ripping them off or hiring them without pay! I don't trust anything written in The Augusta Chronicle, their news staff are incompetent, lousy reporters; constantly reporting news that DON'T effect or matter in the community, and always focusing on news that concerns white people & women.. For instance they avoid addressing topics of Corruption & Racism IN AUGUSTA or AIKEN COUNTY! They dropped the ball of the Augusta Fire Department Scandel: (News Article that took the N.A.A.C.P to get published): Committee to check fire department hiring practices & investigate RACISM:
