I don't know anything about accounting. I never got any notice and I need this taken off right away because they violated FDCPA and FCRA. They haven't checked or confirmed the debt. Please remove it right away. This is a serious violation of 15 USC ***g. Remove it now.

Our son, who recently passed away, had a school loan through Nelnet under my name. I sent in the Death Certificate and was told the loan balance would be discharged. It was approved in December and would take a few days. However, it took longer than expected and I had to file a complaint through a reference number. I called their phone number and Nelnet answered the complaint on March 1st, 2023. They said the delay was due to American Student Assistance not sending them the release papers required to discharge the loan balance. I have been paying Nelnet $300 a month since October 2022 and I am waiting for reimbursement. I tried calling American Student Assistance but their phone number was not working.

These accounts are totally bogus and it's causing me a ton of stress. I sent a letter on 07/23 and included some stuff, but still no response. They better delete all this crap and give me a new credit report that shows it's gone, or I'm taking them to small claims court and they'll have to show up themselves.
