My son was a loyal PC customer for over 4 1/2 years, and they continually gave him loyal customer benefits every other month, as well as free PC points. But then, one day he wanted to close his account and swith to TD Canada Trust. I asked him why, and he said that he wanted to buy a MacBook Pro (his money=his choice), ( see at PC, minors are limited to a withdrawl of $100 per day, and at that rate, it would take forever to get enough money out) and then we went to the PC Pavillion and asked to close the account, and get a money order/bank draft/cheque and the customer service lady (though she was nice) there had no autority on the matter, so she had to use one of the eight phones on site and call PC headquarters.
This is how PC always functions, the people there can't even open an account without permission/instructions from PC headquarters.
Anyways, after an hour on the phone, the lady gives the phone to me and the guy on the phone tells me that for a bank draft, it will be $45.00, and it will take 4-5 WEEKS for it to be mailed to us. I explained that my son is only 11, and all his money is from christmas, and birthday presents, and that taking money from a child is immoral, unethical, and just plain rude.

ONE MORE HOUR LATER

I ask for a manager over the phone, and he puts me on hold for a couple minutes. When the manager comes on the phone, he says that we can just use an emoneyorder, and email it to my son (as long as he has an email account), I ask if there is a charge for this, and he tells me that it is $1.50 each and each email can only "hold" $1000.00. Hmm, well if he has $3000.00 and each one is $1.50, it will come to $4.50, and I volunteer to pay that portion.

PC, why didn't you just list that option at the START of the call?

They call down to my house up to 4 times in one day. They send those machines to call down to my house and I even had a representative swear at me. The customer service is so completely bad that I am more than willing to cancel my credit card and NEVER go back. I asked to speak to a manager and I told him that I wanted a decent person talking to me and not swearing and he said "well this isn't suppose to be a nice phone call". WTF is that suppose to mean? Did you never go to school and learn manners? These people working their are obviously not educated enough to even be dealing with financial areas. I will never trust pc financial again! When I see a representative in my shopping centre next trying to sell a credit card to someone I will run up to them and warn them about what they are actually like! Shut this stupid company down!

I have never had an issue with PC. But honestly there are no monthly fees and I don't have to pay each time I use my debit card like other banks, so I really could care less about the service. I'm not looking for amazing friendly reps when I call, I just get what I need done and forget about it LOL. They are a "virtual" bank so they aren't there to provide excellent customer service

Gravity, for once I do agree with you. I also have them, and they are much cheaper than having to pay for a money order for rent.

I have had a PC account for years and I have never had a problem. They are business and whether its a child or not they are in the business to make a buck. They are VIRTUAL bank with limited servies which is why head office has to approve everything. But thats also why you dont pay bank fees each month...id take the limited services over the bank fees any day. So really you have to pay 4.50 for 3 money transfers big deal what are you complaining about.

Why is this even posted under the "pets and animals" section?
