If I could choose a negative rating I would. Thursday, July 24, I was in the waiting room with my friend and I witnessed extreme abuse by the PA or NP who came out to get a patient — she was talking so loud that everyone in the waiting area could hear her, at one point she shouted, "That would be illegal!" and she kept on shouting. The patient was speaking in a normal voice, so I could not hear what she was saying but she was trying to speak to the PA or NP calmly. I did hear the PA/NP say that because the patient had dense breast tissue she had to have a diagnostic mammogram and insurance wouldn't pay for that. And that if she couldn't pay, she'd just have to cancel her appointments (diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound) I should not know that. But as I said, the PA/NP was shouting in the middle of the waiting area. The patient was really distraught and she was there because she felt something (I should not know that either, but the PA/NP shouted that out to all of us too). I am definitely not going to make my mammogram appts at Jane Brattain, SLP! That poor patient, I hope she gets the exam and treatment she needs and at a clinic with kind, caring staff.
Desired outcome: Patients may wish to request that conversations with the clinicians be done in a private space before the shouting starts.
