Park Nicollet Health Services The scheduling dept

I have had multiple issues with the scheduling dept over the years of being a pt of this health system. The culture of this dept is seemingly unprofessional. I think that in itself is enough without details to warrant an investigation into the culture of this dept. I have had experienced laughter, rudeness, and being transfered back to the scheduling line multiple time on one phone call. I have experienced nurses calling me back, me missing the call, and then being unable to speak to a nurse without scheduling reading through my medical records for 10 minutes plus.

Desired outcome: Professionalism, & adherence to hippa laws.

Park Nicollet Health Services Heart clinic scheduling

This is Mike Voss, Power of Attorney for Ronald Voss. (D.O.B. 3/16/1945) On 3/16 I received a voicemail from Kaylee at the Park Nicollet Heart Clinic, stating that my father, Ronald Voss' appointment @2:35 was cancelled with Teresa Mallow because something had come up. Kaylee left her phone number, [protected], asking me to call back to reschedule. I called Kaylee back to reschedule at 9:45 on Thursday 3/16 and received no call back that day. I also called Kaylee at 9:55 on Friday 3/17 to reschedule and received no call back. I called Kaylee again today at 10:30 to reschedule and left another message asking her to call me back if she was not the person to handle the rescheduling. Finally, I called the Heart Clinic desk, at 10:47 explained what happened, received an apathetic response that didn't include an apology for the non-call backs, and was finally able to reschedule my father's appointment for Thursday 3:23 at 1:30. I understand that things come up and appointments need to be rescheduled. I hope your rescheduling protocol can be adjusted.

Desired outcome: Call backs when I need to reschedule and a more empathetic response from the scheduling staff when errors occur.

Park Nicollet Health Services Contact lens prescription form

On December 30,2022, I used the contact lens prescription given to my daughter to order contacts on-line. When I checked as to why my order had not been received, I was told that my order was cancelled as the prescription form did not include the address and phone number of the clinic location. I was told that this information is required by law. I assumed that a prescription form would contain all the valid information required law to be filled. As a result, I have lost my vision insurance dollars for 2022 ($150).

I would like to be compensated in some way, either a dollar amount, or with an equivalent value of contact lenses.

I would also hope that contact lens prescription forms be updated to include all the information required by law in order to be filled.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response.

Park Nicollet Health Services Rude phone "assistance"

I called to ask a question about my son's upcoming appointment. The scheduler could not answer my question, so she transferred me to "intake". The person there also could not answer my question and was giving me guesses. They were not understanding my dilemma and was getting snippety. I asked to speak to a nurse in the department where my son's appointment would be and they said they would transfer me somewhere to make a complaint. They refused to address my question and told me they don't know and they had worked there for FIVE years. (as if that helps me.) That was not going to get my questions answered so I tried to explain the problem again. The person on the phone was irritable and emotionally unstable. They began to speak to me in a condescending sing song voice. I was very annoyed so I did it back to this person. They apparently felt they could speak to ME like that but I was not allowed to speak to THEM in the exact same manner they spoke to me and they hung up on me. I find this appalling and if this person truly is representative of Park Nicollet based on their long term standing with the organization I am rethinking utilizing your health services. Really disgusting.

Desired outcome: The person needs to be reprimanded at best and if this is recurring needs to be removed from customer service. No one deserves to be treated like they treated me.

Park Nicollet Health Services PN hcp slp

The park nicollet healthcare products department based in st. Louis park is in a word inept. Admittedly, their billing system is not accurate. I repeatedly get statements with balance dues and no reflected payments. The staff is aware of the accounting issues and still asked for unnecessary payments. Staff is extremely rude and exclusively self serving. To make matters worse no request for return communication via the billing group, the cpap, sleep store, or patient relations has ever been made. It couldn't get much worse.

Park Nicollet Health Services Park Nicolette Health Service

Unethical organization that won't allow their doctors to refer patients to an out of network specialist, in any circumstance. For me the wait time to see one of their doctors was 6 months (!) and wasn't even a specialist in the disease I have, but they still refused to refer me to a provider outsider their network.

This policy is intolerable and unconscionable for a health organization, let alone a non-profit one. I believe it potentially violates the physician's duty of care and I sincerely hope someone sues them for this. I can't imagine a greedier and more despicable behavior.

Desired outcome: Get rid of this policy and treat patients like human beings rather than cash cows.

Park Nicollet Health Services Excessive wait, lied to, treated poorly

At 9:30 AM on August 11, 2022, I called Creekside Medical regarding a UTI. I was told a message will be sent with great urgency to my doctor. At 4:30 PM I called back and a nurse told me I was told to go to Urgent Care. I was not told to go to Urgent Care, rather, I was told to wait for a call back. Again, nurse said she would send message again to dr. Shortly after, I received a call back telling me there are no appointments and I should go to urgent care. Then, I said ”I will find a new Dr because this clinic sucks.” Then, the clinic documented in My Chart that they initially told me to go to Urgent Care; this was a lie. The staff was rude to me. Desired outcome: I want their misleading statements in My Chart removed. They did not tell me at 9:30 AM to go to Urgent Care.

Dear Dr. David Abelson, MD, CEO

I have my appointment today for a heart testing at Park Nicollet Cardiologist Clinic in Burnsville, Minnesota at 11 am. I was not informed that I need to wear a mask to see the doctor today. If they told me beforehand, I will not show up in the clinic as I have known myself that wearing a mask will stop me from breathing (obstruction of air passage, I have a heart problem and I have difficulty breathing even before the Covid pandemic hit China and the world. I have my heart operation and it is documented with Fairview Hospital as they did the surgery.

Last time an employee at the Office Max force me to wear a mask and I did it and I have to exit myself outside as it is suffocating. I end up laying on the grass outside and a customer called 911 and I was taken in by ambulance. I still have the ambulance fee. And the second one I was grasping for breathe when I was at the Park Nicollet in Burnsville and the doctor called the ambulance to send me to the hospital. I have friends and family working in the hospital and was advised not to stay for one night as they will inflict me disease and will never recover so I always stay awake all night long and want to go home but was not allowed to go home alone- so I have to ask my son and his friends to come and pick me up. It is too much trouble for them and for myself to be paying this paramedic when I can take good care of myself by meeting the doctor and the nurses and getting my medicine and having a regular exercise.

Today I was told that I cannot see my heart doctor without wearing a mask.

Why did they not told me that beforehand so I do not waste my time and their time?

8. The patient has the right to have an advance directive (such as a living will, health care proxy, or durable power of attorney for health care) concerning treatment or designating a surrogate decision-maker with the expectation that the hospital will honor the intent of that directive to the extent permitted by law and hospital policy. Health care institutions must advise patients of their rights under state law and hospital policy to make informed medical choices, ask if the patient has an advance directive, and include that information in patient records. 9. The patient has the right to timely information about hospital policy that may limit its ability to implement fully a legally valid advance directive.

10. The patient has the right to every consideration of privacy. Case discussion, consultation, examination, and treatment should be conducted so as to protect each patient’s privacy.

The patient has the right to expect that all communications and records pertaining to his/her care will be treated as confidential by the hospital, except in cases such as suspected abuse and public health hazards when reporting is permitted or required by law. 12. The patient has the right to review the records pertaining to his/her medical care and to have the information explained or interpreted as necessary, except when restricted by law.

13. The patient has the right to expect that, within its capacity and policies, a hospital will make reasonable response to the request of a patient for appropriate and medically indicated care and services. The hospital must provide evaluation, service, and/or referral as indicated by the urgency of the case. When medically appropriate and legally permissible, or when a patient has so requested, a patient may be transferred to another facility. The institution to which the patient is to be transferred must first have accepted the patient for transfer. The patient must also have the benefit of complete information and explanation concerning the need for, risks, benefits, and alternatives to such a transfer.

14. The patient has the right to ask and be informed of the existence of business relationships among the hospital, educational institutions, other health care providers, or payers that may influence the patient’s treatment and care.

15. The patient has the right to consent to or decline to participate in proposed research studies or human experimentation affecting care and treatment or requiring direct patient involvement and to have those studies fully explained prior to consent. A patient who declines to participate in research or experimentation is entitled to the most effective care that the hospital can otherwise provide.

16. The patient has the right to expect reasonable continuity of care when appropriate and to be informed by physicians and other caregivers of available and realistic patient care options when hospital care is no longer appropriate.

17. The patient has the right to be informed of hospital policies and practices that relate to patient care, treatment, and responsibilities. The patient has the right to be informed of available resources for resolving disputes, grievances, and conflicts, such as ethics committees, patient representatives, or other mechanisms available in the institution.

18. The patient has the right to be informed of the hospital’s charges for services and available payment methods.

I DO NOT CONSENT TO COVID-19 TESTING

QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS TO RAISE ABOUT TESTING:

(1) Where is the legal authority that compels me to get tested?

(2) Why get tested if the results are inaccurate?

(3) The FDA states the tests are not accurate. Why take one?

(4) Taking an un-approved test with unknown side effects constitutes a “medical experiment”. I do not consent to participating in a medical experiment. Further, if I am compelled to undergo a test without my consent and without financial compensation, that amounts to HUMAN TRAFFICKING, which is a felony that carries a prison sentence and a fine of $500,000

(5) What action will you take because of the results?

(6) Who is paying for the tests?

(7) Who is getting paid FOR the tests?

(8) Forcing me to take a test is a violation of my privacy rights, protected by the 4th Amendment of the Constitution.

(9) I have a "Patient's Bill of Rights" that allows me to deny any medical intervention.If you are fired, you can collect unemployment, and also find an employment attorney in your area to take on your case if you want to go that route.

(10) Any attempt to coerce me to undergo testing against my will and without my consent constitutes violation of these laws: FALSE IMPRISONMENT and HUMAN TRAFFICKING (California Penal Code, Section 236.1 for example states: “Any person who deprives or violates the personal liberty of another with the intent to obtain forced labor or services, is guilty of human trafficking and shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for 5, 8, or 12 years and a fine of not more than five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000).

Park Nicollet Health Services Phone call hold and no access to file complaint

I live in the UK, but am a US citizen. I have been trying to make an appointment with Park Nicollet/Health Partners for days now with no luck. On Thursday, July 21, 2022, I wanted for over a half hour to get through with no luck. Tried again on Friday, July 22, 2022, waited for 26 minutes on hold, a representative answered and immediately said, "I can't hurt you, please unmute." I said, "Hello, I am not muted (and verified that)." She then hung up on me. I can guarantee she heard me and didn't want to help. Then, if you try to email the clinic or find an area to lodge a complaint, there is nothing. Such horrible customer service. They need to hire more staff to assist with making appointments and be more transparent with the complaint/need assistance department. Let me guess, they don't even have a complaints department. Will be looking elsewhere.

Park Nicollet Health Services Park Nicollet Family Medicine Dr. Adow

I consulted the Park Nicollet nurse advice line about worsening sinus headaches for more than 10 days. She made an appointment for me to see Dr. Adow at the Creekside Clinic in St. Louis Park MN two days later. Dr. Adow would not take his eyes off his computer screen long enough for me to show him what part of my head was in pain. He did not listen to anything I said and would not look me in the face. He did not do an examination of the sinus area or nose. I was subjected to a long interrogation of irrelevant questions about my diet, exercise and drinking habits. Later I found out that he had arbitrarily decided to do an annual wellness exam, which I did not want and had not asked for. Eventually he mis- diagnosed it as a migraine headache, but after leaving and consulting some other doctor (not named) he decided it was "sinus congestion." He prescribed pseudoephedrine and I told him "I can not take Sudafed (brand name) because it gives me stomach pain." He replied, "This isn't Sudafed, it's pseudoephedrine." He is so ignorant that he doesn't even know pseudoephedrine is the active ingredient in Sudafed. By then, after sitting there in great pain and stress for two hours,

I was in so much pain and so exhausted that all I could manage to do was to get out of there, and I left without treatment. The headache was much worse the next day and eventually I managed to get into Urgent Care where I saw a respectful and kind doctor who - in 15 minutes - came up with an excellent treatment plan which has helped.

Desired outcome: Dr. Adow needs to be educated on appropriate, respectful treatment of patients and learn some listening skills. His faulty knowledge of even non-prescription, over the counter drugs, needs to be looked at.

Park Nicollet Health Services Doctor conduct

Had to schedule with Dr. Kingsley because our primary physician was out sick. He was rude and condescending during the visit. Made comments like "Well, I'm not your 'REAL' doctor" and "doesn't seem like you have this under control, I might have to send someone from the county over" because our son has eczema that we are working on treating. Will not be going to see this doctor again. Sounds like others have had this experience and now makes sense why he has same day appointments available.

Desired outcome: An apology, but based on his abrasive behavior, I anticipate Dr. Kingsley will say "I did nothing wrong. I stated the facts." The fact is that this Dr. is rude and someone should coach him how to be polite and show some empathy for parents.

Park Nicollet Health Services Plymouth Urgent Care & Methodist Emergency Room Services 5/17/22

On May 17, 2022 I experienced Covid-related health issues: Coughing blood and bloody nose. I called the Park Nicollet triage nurse who suggested Urgent Care. Plymouth Urgent Care evaluated, did ECG and referred to Methodist Emergency Room. Was not told at ER the wait was over 4 hours. I did not eat, drink or use the restroom for fear I would miss my name being called. Once seen by the Dr. 4.5 hours after check-in, another ECG was run, 2 blood draws and CT scan performed. I waited almost an hour after the CT scan results were in before the Dr. reviewed the results. I spent over 11 hours at Park Nicollet providers to be told I should take cough medicine. The Dr. asked if I wanted a prescription for cough medicine; I declined. In my release paperwork, she submitted the prescription (which I did not pick up). Had the Triage nurse suggested ER, I wouldn't have to pay for Urgent Care services AND ER services. The ER Dr. claimed she didn't see any blood in my throat or nose, but I had dried blood in my mask and in my nose, and proceeded to have a bloody nose prior to leaving the room. She made me feel like she didn't believe my symptoms and issues. The Dr. told me I was free to decline services at any time -- as a patient who believed my health was compromised, I did not question the Dr. I will now be charged for 2 provider visits, duplicate tests, and don't feel the correct testing was done prior to the CT scan. I should have had a D-Dimer test to test for blood clots before the more invasive and expensive CT scan. I had not had anything to eat or drink in more than 12 hours and was told, as I was leaving (for the first time) that they didn't want to give me food or drink because the CT scan was possible. No offer of food or drink after the CT scan (at 5:45pm) and I didn't leave until 8:45pm. I now will be on the hook for likely thousands of dollars when less invasive tests could have been run, repeat testing wasn't necessary (ECG in both locations, 2 blood draws checking for different things), even a pregnancy test when I could have verified with them I am not pregnant. The ER didn't read my chart (I gave that info to the Urgent Care) and did not ask me. I am not satisfied with my care and am highly disappointed in the wait time and interaction with Dr.

Desired outcome: Urgent Care refund for visit/tests as they were unable to help me. ER refund for duplicate tests, CT scan when a D-Dimer could have been run on one of the two blood draws they did, and refund on the pregnancy test.

Park Nicollet Health Services No human beings answer phones and all web help in three day meetings

Park Nicollet does not like to talk to people, there are no actual human beings that answer the phones. This healthcare is truly a sad state of affairs. Go anywhere else if you'd like any actual help. Website is down and all employees in a dept meeting for the entire day and this is the third day they are in these meetings. Really? Wow.

Desired outcome: Hire some actual human beings to help patients.

Park Nicollet Health Services Dr. Ju

In 2020 I telephoned Ju about his patient Jared Harvey I explained Jared

was a close friend had begun a meth habit and was being held as a house

boy sex slave at 3400 20th Avenue South. This went on for over 4 years. Jared was out of sorts most of the time. A man named Reynaldo Cruz beat, raped and forced him into terrible conditions. On Feb 18 2022 with a temp of -28 degrees Jared was forced to sleep on the garage floor with just his clothes to keep warm. Cruz then brought him two bottles of hot water to keep him from

freezing to death. At 4am the bottles had frozen and Jared wondered out to find help as he was falling asleep at 4:30am I received and raced to find him. We found him in a snow bank in Powderhorn Park.

Cruz has been reported to DHS, M.P. D. and to Dr. Ju. The address of Cruz has logged more than 63 9.1.1. calls in the last 24 months. Last month Cruz freed Jared and he has sleeping on the street and having sex for meth

At the height of all his Ju pulled the rug from under Jared's feet and

dropped him. Where do the Ju's of the world come from and how dare this hospital have him on staff.

Why didn't he help Jared, why did he ignore my concerns?

Loosing Jared as a close great friend has been difficult. I wonder if he's alive or if he's warm or when I see the face book post that he is gone.

Park Nicollet Health Services Patient relations

Patient relations/Methodist hospital Did not follow their own grievance procedures related to complaints first discussed with Dr. Zimmerman, who claimed to be on the "corporate side" and a separate path from patient relations. When he dropped out of contact with me, I contacted patient relations who oddly Assigned my hospital grievance to Dr. Zimmerman. He then extended my process of explaining my grievance for over 8 months by listening to me for a few minutes at a time then saying he had to go. "Covid shot, gotta go" etc. Eventually, he responded in writing to three of the many issues we discussed and said he did all the investigating by himself and everything the hospital has done was fine. He Refused to disclose steps taken to investigate. He then instructed patient relations to refuse to take any new grievances from me if they were about the same individuals etc. even if the events I wanted to report happened after he closed the investigation. I have two transcripts made from recordings between me and patient relations where patient relations treats me, a graduate of Yale Law School and former corporate attorney (now retired) like a child. They call me manipulative for trying to file a new grievance, and now refuse to return my calls. The hospital claims to have "lost" legal documents they created on epic and I recently received threatening as well as inaccurate unsigned letter from one of park Nicollet's clinics explaining that it "did not make clinical sense" for me to be seen there due to my ongoing efforts to express my dissatisfaction with their care.

Park Nicollet Health Services Booking Appointments

I called today on recommendation from a primary DR after some tests that I should see a OB-GYN--I was concerned, and wanted to get in as soon as possible--
I was told the soonest was August 10, so I booked the appointment. Then decided to do a search myself and found an appt on Monday July 26-- so I booked that on-line

To my surprise I was called and said I couldn't have that as the Dr didn't have time to" prepare".
So I'm very frustrated with your system that says its ok not to make efforts to get people in when they need to.
