Proffesional and responsiv. Excelent customer service! The staff is friendly and do a great job of comunicating with both the guests and cottage owners. I can see why they have been in bussiness for 20 years!

On January 28, I booked a cottage from Ontario Cottage Rentals (OCR) for 1 week to hang out with my family from the U.S. I paid the deposit of $ *** as per my contract. On March 30, I asked to delay my final payment until June 10th due to worries about the border being closed because of the COVID virus. On April 27, I canceled my booking because my family couldn't cross the border. My contract said that if the booking was canceled more than one month before the date, I'd get all my money back, except for the 13% non-refundable booking fee. It's been 2 1/2 months and I'm still waiting for a credit to my ***Card. I contacted the original employee, ***, and her Manager, ***. A week ago today, July 10th, Ms *** told me my credit would be processed either that day or the following Monday, July 13th, at the latest. I checked today and there's nothing. I also complained to T.I.C.O. and will write a review. They rented out the cottage again for next week, so they got the booking fee twice. My brother in the U.S. also booked a nearby cottage and got his refund within a week.

Stay away from this company! They are very unprofessional and don't respond properly. I dealt with *** from their office. At the beginning, she said she would send me the booking site that day, but I didn't receive anything. So, I waited until the next day and called back. It turns out she had the wrong email and resent it. I finally got the book and booked the cottage on their site. This happened on a Saturday. I emailed her to let her know I booked it and waited until Monday for a response. But I didn't hear anything, so I sent another email. Tuesday came and still no response. I called the office and left a message with the receptionist who said *** would call back that day. But I still didn't hear anything by Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, *** sent an email saying our booking was not accepted because they were busy. I was confused and messaged back to find out why. She said there was no reason. This confused me because we had already discussed the number of people in my party, pets, and made sure the cottage was suitable. I even received a confirmation reservation ID. I called and spoke with *** to ask why the booking couldn't be made. She said that's just how it is sometimes. I asked her to explain further, but she just said they couldn't book it for me. I asked if the week was still available, and she said it was, which was also confirmed online. I understand that companies can be busy, especially during these times, but I missed out on two other cottages because *** confirmed this one was available and told us to confirm the details online. This is really unprofessional customer service. Maybe she didn't want to rent it to us because we followed up with calls and emails, but that's what any normal company would do. I even asked to speak to *** to clarify things, but she said there is no manager to speak to. It seems like she's just doing whatever she wants and rejecting applications as she pleases. I left a message with *** at the office, and she said a *** will call back. I will update this if the manager calls back. I will also post my email conversations with *** to show that I was not unprofessional or rude to her in any way.
