Odenza Marketing Loss of certificate

I went to book a trip for my birthday and when I spoke with an agent about a prior CERTIFICATE that was given to my family and I, for not only booking a vacation but actually going on the vacation through ODENZA vacation packages. I was advised by one of the agents, (KAREN MIZZI) that once we returned from our AUGUST VACATION, we would be GUARANTEED to get a $100.00 CERTIFICATE to go towards any future vacations with ODENZA. Which Karen sent via email, after I returned from Indio, California. So when I talked to a different agent today, she first let me know that, the company FIRED her and she was no longer with ODENZA. she got smart and told me, I didn't have a certificate and it was used already. The agent was very rude and I was not able to book my vacation for my birthday, which is in 28 more days. The certificate clearly stated I had to use the certificate within 30 days.

Claimed loss: $100.00 vacation certificate

Desired outcome: New certificate

Odenza Marketing Vacation package

Purchased this voucher (one week getaway validation card) over a year ago (September 2022) for $100 AFTER sitting through a couple of hours of vacation club pitches. Cannot reach anyone via phone or email to confirm trip. Tried booking online and it was auto cancelled. There doesn't seem to be a way to reach anyone at this company to either book a trip or get my money back.

Desired outcome: Book a trip as promised or refund the price I paid for the package.

Odenza Marketing Two free round trip airline tickets to continental U.S. Hilton Time share

(BUYER BEWARE) Spent more than half a day of my vacation time in presentations with high pressure Hilton sales representatives. Won’t get into that. This was the gift given to us for our time and we registered and the company is more than happy to take that $50 real quick and send you a lame email stating we have a travel specialist that we are assigned to and they are backed up and they will get back to us as soon as they can. The $50 registration fee was paid on [protected] and today its 9-3-2023 and still nothing besides the we are behind and will be with you soon email. So I am reaching out here to resolve the issue and get the airfare or my money back.

Desired outcome: I would like my pair of free airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S. voucher honored.

Odenza Marketing Odenza marketing travel group

Honestly, this place seemed so “great” at FIRST. I won a free trip from odenza which I had to then travel to one of their locations 3 hours from home just to secure my certificate. They put on a show saying how much they are not a time share which they are. I proceeded with the process. I paid $100 for the “travel agent fee” I was then told to choose from the places that were available. Once I was assigned a travel agent I let him know that the dates selected were no longer acceptable due to illness, he proceeded to say that it was fine and he would accommodate with Rescheduling for an additional $150, I emailed the same day stating that was fine I never heard back from the agent. Today I’am finally being told he no longer works with the company. So this company truly left a bad taste in my mouth they have my money yet no trip ! I couldn’t recommend them to say the least as my experience has been terrible. I’d probably be better off booking my own trip elsewhere , on top of the “manager” stating he couldn’t do anything for me “unfortunately”. A true rip off !

Desired outcome: A refund of my travel agent fee or a new valid certificate.

Odenza Marketing Not a Free Vacation

Spent two hours with a Diamond Resort fleebag of a sales person. Lied multiple times during the presentation. We received a free vacation week. BUT WAIT!

Odenza needs your credit card before looking at the available weeks with no refund possible. Then it will cost about $400 for a week if booked!

Take them out of business. Two scam companies working together.

Desired outcome: I need to see available weeks prior to paying!

Odenza Marketing Getaway

This whole thing is a scam they stop you in the mall promoting things that sounds too good to be true. They make you pay money and say those are the taxes and you won’t have to pay anything else. They promise you hotels and suites in the finest hotels and then when you register your certificate they give you low budget hotel options and still make you pay a deposit. If they stop you do not fall into it . It’s too good to be true it’s a complete scam I promise

Odenza Marketing Vegas Vacation

Absolutely terrible experience trying to plan anything with them. I was trying to get ahold of an agent named Kim for over a year on and off and she did not respond to one of my emails or phone voicemails since the initial email. I finally got through and she told me she doesn't handle my file anymore and she would email me with a coworkers email address. She did follow up and email me with the coworkers email but then when I emailed the coworker it did not belong to anyone belonging to Odenza Vacations. I work in the tourism industry and it was the worst customer service I have ever had.

Odenza Marketing No contact or direction from Co.

I have attempted to communicate with Odenza to obtain direction and have some questions answered regarding a promotional trip I was given. I have a certificate number but beyond that I have had no contact or support as to the direction I should be going for this trip. This makes me very hesitant to pay any monies up front with this kind of service presented. I am wondering how I can get some action from these people or perhaps just forfeit this whole idea before I end up with a loss.

Odenza Marketing &free& trip

Listened to a long boring presentation for Diamond Resorts. Was supposed to receive "2 free gifts" from Odenza Marketing. The "free cruise" required a "tax fee" of 500.00, and the "free 2 night stay" somewhere required a 50.00 tax fee. I begged for someone to call me to set up the times, and dealt with a smart alec high school sounding little ### who just kept saying "Promotional Travel is not for everyone" every time I asked a question. It was like he was a robot. He just kept asking for more and more money for "upgrades". I we went on the stupid cruise... which we are not... we would get bunkbeds! Great for a 5 yr old. If we paid for "upgrades" we would have ended up paying twice as much as if we would have just purchased it outright. In summary: totally dishonest company. Lie about their product/services. Should not even be allowed to run a business such as this! Where is government regulation when you need it?

Odenza Marketing Unreliable

Received a travel voucher from lazy boy for a vacation. I paid the required fee. Tried to get in the touch with my rep for almost 4 months. Hayley pros. Did not respond. Have finally asked for a refund and hope that i have no problem with this. Travel # snrvnd10065.

Your service is appalling and i plan to let lazy boy now this always. I made a total of 18 calls to this person, and had no satisfaction.

Comment: Odenza/Star Rebates operates a Ponzi scheme out of 4664 Lougheed Highway #230, Burnaby BC V5C-5T5. The owner is named Sodi Hundal and the Manager is Darren Single. The Phone number is [protected]. They sell rebate vouchers for gasoline, cruises and groceries to unsuspecting charities and merchants who then sell them as fundraisers or use them as marketing tools to draw in new business. The consumer then must register the voucher and pay a fee. The consumer then must save receipts and send them in for a Visa/MC gift card. Problem is, the company never sends the cards. Odenza/Star rebates keeps the money from the merchant and the registration fees from the customers. If you complain often enough, they may send you one or two cards, then they stop sending them again. If this does not define ponzi scheme, I don't know what does?

The authorities should also be alerted...

Here is a link about Odenza marketing/star rebates who are based in Burnaby BC but have "shell companies" in the US. This appears to be a Ponzi scheme. Just Google "Odenza, Star Rebates, Ripoff, scheme" and you will see what I mean.

They also operate out of San Diego Ca and Seattle WA

here is a link to a story about this company out of Seattle:

Odenza Marketing Waste of Time & Money

To start off, company says it has 28 vacation locations, but when i tried to redeem they could only offer me 2 of them unless i wanted to pay for an upgrade which was the same price as if i booked myself. Plus they had me send in money upfront, then sent me another letter that they needed more money. I also had to call numerous times after waiting 2 weeks since my last money order was cashed to even be able to speak with a travel agent. Then the one they assigned me to went on vacation, so i had to cause a huge problem to get them to assign me to another agent instead of waiting for the current travel agent to get back. Then the new agent they assigned my to went on vacation a day after the assigned me to her. On top of all this everyone a spoke to was completely rude! All in all this is a total rip off and a complete waste of time & money!...

Odenza Marketing took deposit for trip and not returning

Requested a refund since the voucher says the deposit is refundable however I have yet to receive a response.
I think it is a shame they charge you $138 for a hotel that on the internet is $30 a day (2 nights) that is a $60 voucher. The hotel reviews says it is moldy, run down, holes in walls, plumbing issues, to name a few things. Why would anyone want this type of adventure. This was presentated as a prize and is anything but that. The rep is no longer responding to my emails and I would like my deposit back in full as I want to spend no time anywhere that has a mold problem and holes in the wall.

Odenza Marketing book a trip

Received a trip through ford, for a trip to Vegas. Sent in 328.00 us. Cannot seem to get a response from anyone. Not even an e-mail in response. You have to wait your turn for a travel agent to phone you. When you phone, no one answers. IF you try to speak to a manager, noone returns your calls or e-mails. All I want to do is book our trip but as soon as I sent my money in, noone seemed to want to help past that point..Very poor customer service and hospitality. I am not sure what we should do next. I would not recommend odenza to any of our friends that is for sure. If you have a lot of time to waste and can sit by the phone waiting for a travel agent to phone you then you might have a chance to book a trip. No wonder, a person has 2 years to book their trip. hahaha thanks Lisa

If you think you’re immune to a con artist’s scam, you might want to mull that one over.

If you answer your telephone, you can be vulnerable.

Even if you see yourself as a person who looks objectively at every situation, you could be caught up in a clever web — even if you’re one of those people who looks at every aspect.

Oh, oh, there’s the catch.

Just weeks ago we read and saw on the news that a young woman finally was free in Iran after being incarcerated for months, though she was innocent of any wrongdoing. Spying, they said.

The phone-call setup

Your own telephone rings midmorning. “Grandma, I’m in trouble in Barcelona, Spain. I need your help.” She is crying uncontrollably.

“Who is this?”

“Don’t you recognize your own granddaughter’s voice?”

Guilt. “But I have five granddaughters.”

“I’m your oldest one.”

It has to be the oldest one of the three sisters; the actual oldest granddaughter is working.

“Nancy (not her real name). But where’s the baby?”

“I have a super baby sitter. My friend Sarah had an extra plane ticket to visit her relatives and invited me to go with her.” That makes sense. Nancy needs a vacation trip.

“What happened?”

“We were out riding and her cousin was speeding. The police found drugs in the car. I was tested and found clean of drugs and alcohol. But I’m in jail anyway.” Oh, oh.

The money request

“I need $2, 000 for bail when I see the judge this afternoon. Then I can fly right home. And you’ll get your money back right away. But please don’t tell a soul. I’m too embarrassed. I’ll tell everyone when I get home.”

Where are those alarms that are supposed to be sounding about now? It’s those tears that drown them out. Of course you’ll give her the money. You look at your husband. He has that terrified look like he’s going to the poorhouse.

“The police officer wants to talk to you now. But please don’t tell anyone.” OK.

“This is Officer P. Seagal of the Barcelona Police Department. Nancy is innocent, but she needs the bail money. You won’t tell anyone, will you? She feels very badly about that.”

No, you won’t. Such a kind officer. So what should you do?

No checks, please

Officer Seagal, who put the accent on the first syllable of his name, then switched to the last syllable (sounds more Spanish, right?), wants you to send cash only, through Western Union. He even gives you the office closest to your home. You did tell him what city you live in (you don’t remember anything that Barry Bonazzi of the Will County Sheriff’s Department has told seniors time and time again: DON’T GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION.)

But this is your own granddaughter we’re talking about. Stay out of my head!

Directions are explicit. He gives you his phone number (later turns out to be a Montreal area code). You have your cell phone turned on (of course you gave the kind officer your number) and he will call you in 45 minutes. You will get a form from Western Union and you have specific instructions on sending the money, which is now up to $2, 935, to Nancy. No, not Nancy, he corrects himself as someone else seems to speak to him. You send it to her lawyer, David Benson. “An American lawyer?” you ask. “He’s with the American Embassy, ” Seagal says.

Hubby knows best

Hmm, are the bells ringing now? Your husband certainly hears them. “It’s a scam, ” he yells. You break the rules and call Nancy’s phone number to talk to the baby sitter. Nancy answers. Could this be her cell phone? “Where are you, Nancy?” “I’m home. Don’t you hear the baby?”

“Is anyone forcing you to do anything, ” you ask. “No, Grandma, why?”

You explain the whole story.

“Grandma, you’ve been scammed, ” she screams.

Thank God, Nancy is safe. And no money passed through anybody’s hands.

Your husband answers the next call from Seagal and puts him off.

When Officer Seagal calls back a few hours later to see if the money went through, you tell him Nancy got home and you both appreciate that he did such a great job, and hang up. Funny, he hasn’t called back.

So the next time you hear that Bonazzi is going to talk, you go and take careful notes. You’re going to put those withdrawal slips away, and the only thing you’ll take to the bank is everything Bonazzi says.

i received the same promo from VW in ottawa, ON ; i did mail my registration and now they are asking me to send $ 328.70USD ; i was alerted as why a big company will only request money order and doesn't accept credit card ; some companies may refuse the credit card method of payment as you can later dispute the amount if you were scammed ; Great that i have checked your comments folks as i am not going to send my money ; i wonder why a company like VW, Ford, Nissan will direct us to such a scam if they care about their reputation because if i were scammed i will honstley get mad of VW than odenza.

I received a gift certificate from Nissan last year and I am now getting ready to book my trip but before sending the money I read in the fine print that there might be additional tax costs depending on the airport I use. I called the number at [protected] and was told from the lady there that no one could give me any information about potential additional costs until I paid my $328.70. This concerned me because in Toronto the Airport tax is very high but I have no way of knowing what the extra costs are - so like the person above me - I will not send my money and look for a last minute deal through a travel agent. another question for Odenza would be - if you are located in BC why are you asking for US Dollars? To many red flags here! I wish Nissan had looked into this better before giving it to me with my purchase. It;s left a bad taste in my mouth with both Odenza and Nissan Canada

I, too, have been scammed by them. I supposed was getting a 3 day weekend cruise from San Diego to Ensanada but they took the $294 I sent in by cashier's check and then I could not get a date to go on the cruise. I was told over and over again that to get a decent date and a semi decent room that I would have to send in more money and upgrade my trip. When I insisted on getting the trip I already paid for I was ignored.

Odenza Marketing Simply ridiculous

My now husband and I were very excited when we received a voucher for a free 3 night cruise after attending a promotional session for waterless cookwear. We didn't know were to go for our honeymoon and were hoping to save some money. We sent in our voucher and received a brochure from VIP vacations, NY. We decided we would like to upgrade for a longer 5 day cruise. We sent in our $50 money order and waited. We never got a phone call. My husband phoned the company. They said we would not be able to go on a three day cruise until January of next year! We wanted this to be our honeymoon but she informed us of an earlier 5 day cruise which we thought was great. She emailed the form but claimed the rates would go up during the weekend. Then she was conviently out of town for the next two weeks. We were rushed to make a decision. Not having ever been on a cruise before agreeded to the price of $630 per person and port fees of $201.91 per person. For a grand total of $1663.82. Then waited to confirmation which is only done through email. We obtained our confirmation the next day! So I'm thinking great. When I went to register on carnival I couldn't enter our booking number. I kept trying at no avail. I finally figured out she and given us the wrong ship. After entering the right ship was able to register. Completed my funpass through carnival and was viewing the documents only to find that our cabin is way at the front of the ship. Yuck. Viewed the contract from carnival and found the price quoted from carnival with a cruise amount of $1, 618 which is $809 per person. I thought I was getting a deal. Then I saw the taxes and fees which was $115.82 which was only $57.91 per person. I was being charged $201 for taxes and port fees. I called odenza and was on hold for a long time. I spoke to a gentlemen who told me I could only deal with the lady who booked the cruise and was transferred only to receive her voicemail and left a message. I was determined and called again. After waiting again for a long time, the same gentleman answered and I told him I wanted to speak to someone today not the next business day and that I only received her voicemail. He said she was the only travel agent that I could talk to even though everyone had access to the same information. I asked if she was in the building and he said yes. I left another message but was not polite. I was surprised when she called me back the same day. I asked her about the difference in prices and she had no idea what I was referring to. I told her about the website and it took her some time to located the information. When I asked about the pricing she claimed that the port fees where included in the cruise amount quoted by carnival. I asked her about the prices of the cruise and why I wasn't receiving 3 free days. She became very rude to me and yelling about how the voucher was applied and that were we going during peak season and the voucher was only good during the off season. She said this was all explained before we booked the cruise which was not. I asked what the dollar amount was then that she applied. She would not give me that information. I told her I didn't really see where I was saving any money. The total price from carnival was 1, 803.82. I paid $1, 663.82. If you subtract that the difference is only $140. Plus minus the $50 for processing fees. A total of $90. My advice is to go directly through Carnival. The voucher probably cost that much for the company to buy from them. Odenza is not giving you a deal.

Just started to check this free cruise out. Not sure what to make of it . There is no phone number for a contact. Can't get into the website for any additional information. Defiantly starting to sound too good to be true. Might decide not to waste my time in pursuit.

Here is a link about Odenza marketing/star rebates who are based in Burnaby BC but have "shell companies" in the US. This appears to be a Ponzi scheme. Just Google "Odenza, Star Rebates, Ripoff, scheme" and you will see what I mean.

here is a link to a story about this company out of Seattle:

Odenza Marketing - Ripp off

A FREE gift for our time we invested in a presentation for a time share should cost $ 328.70 in the end. We are very disappointed by the behaviour of the time share comany and Odenza, but we should have trusted people that warned us!!! So we like to warn you that you are not making the same mistake and believe, what they promis you!

Odenza Marketing Want money before info supplied

Got a "free" cruise from Odenza Travel. Tried to collect. Would only let me cruise during hurricane season. The rules they sent said I could pay more to travel outside those dates and I was willing to do so but they would not give me a quote until I sent them $350. for port fee and taxes. I asked why and they told me that is hoe they work After reading the press about them I am refusing to send them money and they are refusing to honor my certificate. This is a big scam.

Odenza Marketing Rip-off!

Odenza sells vouchers to companies that offer them to people like me who come to listen to a presentation about a product they would like to sell.

Odenza promises in writing in their brochure that you send $50 and they will book 2 night hotel from a list of cities. We chose Orlando and we chose a date excluding week end and holidays (many limitations, not convenient). May be a month later they called us to ask us an extra $40 + insurance for 2 nights in the Howard Johnson Maingate Resort, Kissimmee FL. So we are now $90 out.

Now when we went on the hotel website, we realize that it cost $45 a night to reserve to the hotel directly and without restrictions.

These people are thieves, they sell a voucher, collect money and charge you full price+!

Truly, don't waist your time, don't do business with these unethical deceitful greedy folks!

I am looking into legal action; these people should not do business!

Many more complaits out there, many people are taking advantage of!

$3000 lost!

We fell for the scam as well: sent in the initial $50 and then sent in another money order for the remainder of the fees we were not forewarned about. Also keep in mind that they don't take checks, only money orders, they are not traced or recorded... hm. Our trip was then cancelled because of Hurricane Irene and we had ALSO purchased insurance through Odenza. We have been waiting for 90 days now for a full refund, which is in our terms and conditions, of $3000+. PLEASE do not fall for this-we should have listened to the reviews before doing anything with them but it sounded so great. DON'T do it! This is a complete scam and we have suffered for far too long because of them.

Oh really? So when businesses and charities buy these vouchers from odenza as marketing and fundraisers odenza makes $$$. Then they charge the person who either gets the voucher as part of a "rebate program" or purchases it from an unsuspecting charity, they pay their processing fee, save their receipts, and then get no response from Star Rebates/Odenza...they also perpetuate a myth they are somehow working in conjunction with Fortune 500 companies and use their logos on their literature. Odenza doesn't do anything for free...they collect money from both sources and fail to deliver on their promises...

Be a cautious consumer, nothing in life is free, and there are few truly great deals out there. Odenza is a business trying to make money, they are middle men, so I knew I should check it out first. After I sent my $50 I got a letter that said there was more fees. So I looked into it, there are multiple reports that people went on a cruise and it cost them a little more than getting making there own plans. I could schedule a cruise cheaper by my self or through and agent. I sent my letter back with a note saying no thank you, please send my deposit. I recieved my deposit back within 3 weeks.

I agree 100%. I also feel that this company"ODENZA" is unethical and a scam! They promise people free trips, cruises and Southwest Airlines (for 2) with the intention to frustrate peopling into not taking the free trip. I followed the instructions for two free Southwest Airlines tickets by sending the $50 deposit. Now they want me to send $58 and choose 5 different weeks that I want to travel. It was only suppose to take 30 advance notice for the trip. All of a sudden, after I send them the $58 it will take another 60 days for the reservations to even be scheduled. Wow! Really? This company is not serious! They are full of games and by the time you keep sending in money...you will have paid for the free trip. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME PEOPLE! THEY REALLY ARE A SCAM!

Instructions from Odenza.com website: What! Really?! This people can't be serious!

Please provide 5 different possible travel weeks below. Please note that promotional departures will take place on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday only and will return two days after departure. The dates you provide below will identify your 5 different travel weeks and not a specific date. Travel is not permitted during any State or Federal Holiday. Please note that you must allow at least 30 days for mailing and processing so do not select a date within 60 days from the day you mail this letter. There must be a minimum gap of 30 days between the travel weeks you request. Please note that your requested weeks must fall within the validity period of your promotional offer or your program will not be valid for travel.
