Nutrafarms Nutrafarms Meat Order

After seeing non top ads about free meat, I reached out to Nutrafarms for more information. I had an appointment with [REDACTED] from Nutrafarms that he insisted to have my wife with us (weird)

First of all, I wanted to know about the free meat. This is only available IF you buy around $5000.00 all at ounce.

Secondly, [REDACTED] outright refused to provide any prices other than the total cost...and even that was like pulling teeth.

Third, even the product is not as described. [REDACTED] was careful to NOT say it was Organic and the location of the farms

After a little dive into Google and a few looks into reviews - this company appears to be a complete rip off! There is Zero transparency. I read a few unfortunate people ended up spending nearly $50 a pound! Many others saying they only got about half of what they expected.

After I confronted [REDACTED] with this, he made vague claims about it being fake and that you are bound to have a few angry customers when you are so popular. End of story is the desperation was rank. Now they continue to badger me every day despite me explicitly telling them to stop

Desired outcome: Please do the following:1- Stop false advertising2- Adjust pushy sales tactics3- Respect my privacy

Nutrafarms Borderline harassment

I saw their ad on Instagram offering a "limited time" deal. In exchange for receiving more information about the deal, I stupidly provided my phone number and email address. I later read some reviews about this company and decided against dealing with them. Despite my efforts of not engaging them, I have been receiving numerous phone calls, texts and emails from Nutrafarms. It's been months and I am still getting their incessant calls. This is insanity bordering on harrassment. Glad I did not buy anything from this aggressive business.

Nutrafarms Freezer Full Of Meat

After seeing ads all over Facebook I asked for a pricelist to see what was involved. I got a message from them asking for my email and phone number. I didn't see the harm in it so I obligated. Before I knew it I was getting calls and emails constantly asking for a virtual meeting with me and my wife.

Despite my protests, the other half really wanted to give this a look. I asked for prices many many many times throughout the process but I kept getting answers like "we cost nothing more then what you are spending"

I don't know how but we ended up buying the smallest package, the sales rep Promised that we would have 12-14 months of meat so it worked in our budget

When we got the order I did a count. for $4500 we got 170lbs of meat. Mostly ground beef, chicken breast and pork chops. I called and asked if they had a second delivery scheduled, they kinda laughed and said no. I asked to speak to my rep, but was told he doesn't do customer service. They then offered to swap out items for lower end costs...I wasn't aware that chicken breast and ground beef was "high end" cuts

We are about 2 months into our orders and easily 60% finished. We will run out way ahead of time and be stuck making payments for months while having to buy meat at the grocery stores.

I did some research and there is a ton of reviews (and a whole website on Reddit) . Apparently Nutrafarms is MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) scheme. This might explain the crazy prices

Desired outcome: Refund me the $3000 extra you charged me

I had ordered from this company a while back. The quality was great, the price was decent. Something like $2500 for 200lbs (or whatever my freezer could take). It lasted around 10 months *KEEP READING FOR CURRENT STATE* We moved around for the military and ended up in Ottawa again and decided to reach out to them. They had a sales guy to our house almost...

Nutrafarms meat order

I recently purchased and after doing some resear5i requested a breakdown of the order. The company refused to oblige. All research points to it being 3 times the price of retail natural meats. After speaking to several managers they berated me on the phone, told me I would have to pay 10% restocking fee and forfeit my deposit. I then pointed out Ontario law, and that they hadn't brought me any product yet. This quickly changed their tone. I left a scathing yet honest review on their Facebook page. I was immediately sent a phony slander lawsuit warning from the VP. After posting on reddit about my experience I had other customers with similar experiences reach out to me.

This company will try to bully you in every way possible. They don't want people knowing their outrageous prices! After posting that, the VP went through my FB contacts reaching out to them and liking events on my FB wall. Very creepy. Other redditors who posted their reviews had a similar event.

Avoid this place at all costs.

Nutrafarms meat order

Was promised the order would last us 10-12 months and cost no more thrn the grocery store. Our order was just shy of $4000 and will last us 6 months. We also priced out our order in comparison to the grocery store (we chose a premium store) and we are paying 200% more then retail organic. Our price was an average of $31 per pound. The quality is good, but not enough to justify an increase in our budget of $70 a week. The part that burns the maot is we are paying for this for 4 months without any meat..

Nutrafarms meat delivery

My sister roped me into this with their referral program. Had she received her order before we signed up then there is NO way we would even entertain the idea!

On the surface this seems perfect. Both our families are 2+2 kids and meat eaters. We LOVE the idea of buying from local farms and the convenience sounded great too.

We went in on a cow before and loved the quality, just didn't like how much of some cuts we got, so the customization was awesome!

That's where the positive ends.

The price tag flabbergasted us, we were told that we needed the largest package which was $6000...yes you read that right SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. We opted for a smaller package, the minimum was $4000.

After agreeing to look at the smallest package we found it very odd that we didn't get any hard values. No numbers for anything was given.

At the beheast of my wife we went through with it. Ended up setting up a payment plan for $90 a week (about half our grocery budget). Gave the man a $200 deposit and said goodbye

Meat day finally arrived. My sister and I both received on the same day. Her husband was out of town when it arrived so she put everything away herself without a chance to go through what she got.

I on the other hand, took my time and calculated exactly what I got.

10lbs NY Striploin steaks
5lbs Sirloin steaks
32lbs lean ground beef
5lbs stew beef
6lbs sirloin tip roast
6lbs whole chickens
35lbs boneless/skinless breast
10lbs boneless/skinless thighs
5lbs wings
3lbs pork roast
10lbs sausage
5lbs Pork Ribs
5lbs ground Pork
5lbs of Hot dogs
10lbs of wings spiced

Box of "free" cleaners

Total or 152lbs or $26.32 a pound!

I went to Farmboy, known for quality (and price), to compare. I was able to get the same amount of meat for around $1800.

Do not, under any circumstances let these guys in your house. I have 5 months of meat that I am paying 250% markup on, and am going to be stuck with payments for 5 months after that

Nutrafarms is not worth the money.

Nutrafarms the offer presented at the door

I young man came to our door one night wearing a Nutra Farm golf shirt stating that he was offering us free food. A sample of Antibiotic Free Meat. He asked a few questions, like - How many people live in the house ( I thought it would reflect the sample size);first names only (but realized that he had our address so he has our last names, oops); our email address, which he did not get; when would be a good time to stop in the next day with the sample. We told him the time, but no one showed up. I am ready to report this guy to the local Police to see if it is legitimate or not. I wrote Nutra Farms but have not heard anything.

If you are unsure of what you are signing, be sure to know your rights. Under the consumer protection act, you have a 10 day cooling off period. Whether you paid cash up front of financed the order. Despite the fact that if you paid cash up front, Dave Steele will tell you that you had 24 hrs to cancel because cash orders are different. He is wrong. https://www.ontario.ca/page/your-rights-when-signing-or-cancelling-contract
Also, for a "valid" contract to be enforceable, you MUST have a copy of the contract you signed. Nutrafarms does not provide you with a copy of the order form at the time you place your order, they provide it upon delivery. Technically speaking, this is not proper and could be considered unfair business practice. If you financed your order, simply call the financing company and tell them you wish to cancel. You DO NOT have to give a reason within your 10 day cooling off period and you do not need approval from Nutrafarms to do so. You simply need to call/email the financing company and tell them you wish to cancel your order and that you are within the 10 day cooling off period. It will be cancelled no quesitons asked and Nutrafarms will be informed.

Be very careful. If it wasn't legitimate it was a thief, it it was it was an incorporated thief. I am talking tongue and cheek here but we did order from them a few years ago and ended up paying $24 a pound for ground beef. They have no price list, you just have to "trust" them. ...it's just shy of a legal scam

I also had someone come to my door yesterday to promote their custom food order. Although I have no doubt that the quality of the food may be good, the pricing is rediculous. On top of the $2, 223.25 product costs for Food Order #1, an additional $1, 666.75 is added on for Cutting & Aging, Wrapping & Freezing, Facilities & Overhead, Service, and delivery. This almost doubles the cost for the items purchased. Please make sure you know what you are signing!
I declined their offer!

Nutrafarms meat order

If you like paying $25 a pound for pork chops this is the company for you. Don't sign up unless they give you a list of exactly what you are going to get. If you are interested in buying truly local meats then look for groups actually based on your area. Only buy the meat, don't be duped into buying soap and pantry items. Farm orders should cost more then your local butcher.

Nutrafarms meat sales

First of all - the name. This is not a farm, and no cooperative either.
I called the office to find out where they are sourcing their meat from since they say it is local. The gentleman I talked to on the phone, did not want to disclose to me which farms are involved. There are no certifications available. When I asked questions about the feeding program for the cattle and wanted an explanation about what "local" means to them, the person hung up the phone on me.

I tried several times to call back, but nobody answered. Generally, local farms are very proud of their products and try to market them in many different ways. There is no reason to hide.

I believe that they are not honest and have something to hide since they are not providing proper info about the origin of their meat.
Help support local farms.

You are absolutely correct. This is a resale company. They purchase their meats from large meat cutters in southern Ontario, repackage it as their own and ship it in packages starting at 3795 and 20-30$ a pound.

Nutrafarms Deceiving tactics at the door

A woman repeatedly banged on my door until I opened it to her, despite having three dogs barking and me asking her to please leave (she was holding a clipboard and obviously selling something) She gave a lengthy pitch about a local farmers collective, and how they were opening a branch nearby, and would I like a free sample of angus beef. I said no, but she persisted and honestly, she was such an annoyance I finally just asked for details like 'what is involved? is this going to be a sales call?" She ASSURED me repeatedly it was simply a handoff of a free sample of meat, and that they would leave information and we were under NO PRESSURE and NO OBLIGATION.
She set up a time for the next day, they were four hours late, and the guy came with no meat sample but a large binder and an attitude of 'let me in so I can con you into a huge contract'. I turned him away, and he left saying he'd call to set up a new appointment.
WE WILL NOT TAKE THAT APPOINTMENT. After some short research on the internet I've seen nothing but bad reviews and complaints and the price to sign up is ridiculously high. TURN THEM AWAY AT THE DOOR! You won't even get your 'free sample' just a pushy sales person at all hours of the night.

Nutrafarms Deceiving door to door sale

I would be very careful of a company roaming around the Ottawa and Toronto area, they are called NutraFarms. They will try to provide you a sample and even heard they take back the sample if you don't sign up for a $3000 contract. NutraFarms seem to have been setup to deceive people.

The company has not being honest when I started asking questions such as where are the farms, where are the certification to back all the free range, no antibiotic claims. Nutrafarms Regional Manager provided excuses saying the farmers are shy and want to remain anonymous. Also their web site is "under construction" I was told after an email to someone in the "contact us". So any affiliations or certifications are not present on the web site. That actually makes sens because they don't have any. When you buy from NutraFarms, there is no way that you can verify what you are feeding your family. Also when looking at various trace on the internet it seems Nutrafarms started operating only in May 2008, before that, they must have operated under the name Canadian Select Farm because they both share the same postal address.

Maybe Nutrafarms is truly what they claim but it is not possible to verify because the company is not being transparent at all and also uses many deceiving tactics. Maybe the "blast freeze" makes the meat better as oppose to free range, etc.

Did you notice those that ordered, that you actually don't know the quantities you ordered until you receive it? This is quite a weird way of buy goods and from what I could see you will get about 160lbs of meat for the cost of $2895, that is probably 3 times the price you get from the real "free range" farmers out there that has all certificate and you can visit the farms.

Nutrafarms uses another deceiving tactics, they will provide you with a certificate with a big "Free Range" stamp. Unfortunately that stamp is an illusion because the small print shows "Free Range Canada Inc". That company is a whole seller no certification at all see www.freerangecanada.ca.

Anyways you have 10 days cooling off period to cancel in writing via registered letter. Beside the cost of registered letter, NutraFarm can't impose any other costs since they didn't provide you yet with any products except the free sample. see http://www.sse.gov.on.ca/mcs/en/Pages/Cancel_a_Contract.aspx

Nutrafarms camouflages their prices with their concept. It's extremely over priced. There are better local bulk meat services available who offer local bulk meat with transparent prices. I digged the whole internet and I think the following are the best options:

https://www.packroadcountrymeats.com/ Great prices and local
https://www.farmclubmeats.ca/ Big variety and grass fed beef, lots of fish
https://www.papaearth.ca/bulk-order/ Locally sourced and transparent prices
https://www.harleyfarms.ca/ Specialized in grass fed beef and lamb, and straight from the farm.

Despite 2 written request for a dollar per kilo price for 10 common cuts of meat I have not gotten one specific number. I went to the web and I see that none of the current customers actually know what they pay per kilo for say, , , a prime rib roast or chicken wings.. Not one. Now I ask myself why would that be?

You may be able to file a Consumer Complaint based on unfair business practices. You can site the fact that you were not given a copy of the agreement when the sales rep left your home and you were only given a copy upon delivery and as such you had no prior knowledge of what product would be delivered. There are arguments to be made for both sides, however, part of a contractual agreement is that you are aware of the consideration being provided as a result of acceptance of the offer.

https://www.ontario.ca/page/filing-consumer-complaint

If you paid the full order via credit card, you can dispute the charge by calling the credit card company. If you did this through their financing company then your best bet might be a consumer complaint, but you really should act quickly if that is the route you are going to go.

Hello

I signed up yesterday. Payment doesnt start till May of 2019. But talking to my husband we decided not to go threw with it. We noticed the sale rep wrote down our names wrong and my email wrong. So I still not have the contract. Tried calling sales rep to change that. She hasn't picked up her calls and Nutrafarms says we cant cancel till there manager calls us. Any one know a direct number or email so we can cancel.

Thank you so much

Yes, you can call the financing company directly and or email them outlining that you wish to cancel your order and that you are within your 10 day cooling off period. That will VOID the financing agreement an in order for Nutrafarms to get this order back a NEW credit application will have to be provided to Home Trust. You DO NOT need to wait to speak to a manager. [protected] Home Trust

I used nutrafarms last year and reordered this year. I've read the comments with interest. I'm happy with the quality of the food. The ground beef, chicken breast, bacon, pork are quite a bit better than the local grocery store. The packaging on the bacon is not the prettiest as someone said. The beef products also seem good quality. I can only assume that the "organic, no antibiotics, grass fed..." is correct - I didn't dig into this. The sales people seemed polite and friendly enough but I didn't exactly challenge them. I've bought meat from Costco but the mechanically tenderized label on most their cuts means you are supposed to cook them to 165 degrees (well done) like hamburger to avoid a small risk of e. coli contamination. I don't see anything on the nutrafarm labels saying anything was mechanically tenderized so I'm more comfortable cooking their product to medium rare.

The company could be more transparent about the cost breakdown - we got a large order of $4800, which just fits into the upright freezer supplied. We have a mix of striploin, top sirloin, ground turkey, ground beef, bacon, stewing beef, a couple of roasts, chicken legs, drums, pork chops, sausage, salmon, roasts...The first order lasted us 14 months. We are 3 adults, 3 children (5, 8, 10). We eat beef about twice a week, chicken 1-2 per week, salmon 1 weeks, bacon every other week. The bacon ran out after about 6 months, striploin 8 months, had chicken and ground beef still left after a year as well as some cuts like blade simmering steak which I didn't order again. We don't eat huge portions - 2 striploins would feed all of us and was enough. If you order the more expensive cuts, it wont last a full year. If you have a mix of things it should last a year - had to supplement some things from the grocery - like prime rib roast, bacon when we ran out or had a specific preference.

I don't think we are saving money doing this, it does save time at the grocery store and the time separating out large family packs. It's hard to compare pricing with the grocery store as the quality is different. Not using as many Ziploc bags. There is a price for convenience. Individuals need to decide if that's worth the price of admission. I do think the quality is quite a bit better than the local grocery store, big box store.

We were buying from Nutrafarms for years - [protected], but this year it was definitely last time!
Average price of meat was around $35-37 but quality was good on overall, except pork ribs last year which were stinky right after thawing (but they exchange that stuff readily).
Package delivered this year included forced soap we didn't ask for but main issue is that despite being >$200 more expensive overall volume of frozen mixed meat was 33% less! That brought average price of stuff (including chicken wings and bones!) to over $90!
This has become ripoff and adding their shadiness about where their meat comes from (Oh, all over the province!)!
Don't bait this! You are better off buying from organic shelves in regular stores (or likes like Nature Emporium or Longo's) - it's same or better but twice as cheap!
