while walking on damp floors the soles are very slippery and dangerous. I have to be very careful or it could be bad. Today I noticed part of the sole turning loose and now it could trip me up. This is my first pair of new balance shoes and might be my last.

I am still suffering after 6 weeks from a shoulder injury resulting from going for an unexpected skate on wet concrete. I have been using New Balance shoes for decades, and this is the first time I have found them to be super slippery. I am almost certain that they have changed the composition of the soles since the previous pair.

Update: Now 13 weeks, and shoulder still needing treatment although much improved. The local (New Zealand) distributor and the shop from which I bought these shoes have been singularly unhelpful thus far in meeting my serious concerns about these dangerous shoes, and have resorted to lame excuses and misinformation. Very disappointing. It looks as if both the manufacturer and the retailer are going to lose a long term customer, who (in his opinion) has a justified grievance.

The bottoms of my new balance all terrains are super slippery on damp or wet tile or concrete. It was like walking on ice! I am going to try to scuff them up.

You have to remove the manufacturing glaze with a rasp.

I broke my hand falling while wearing these shoes. After my 3rd fall I put them away for a class action suit later.

I had the same problem - unfortunately with a sad result. While taking pictures on a slight wet slope (concrete) - the shoes literally slipped out from underneath. The effect of bruise damage to the elbow - I can say goodbye to swimming for 2 years. Those standing next to me on the same surface had no such problems ... I avoid the product from a distance - a lasting souvenir of health

I bought a pre loved NB rubber shoes, it looks still new and not much used. I understand now why it was sold because the sole is slippery on wet floor. This led me searching if there are concerns similar to this, and sad that the shoe line need to look into this.

What was the answer to slippery New Balance shoes

If no satisfactory answer I’ll be putting mine in the garbage bin before I end up in hospital

At the suggestion of my pediatrist I just bought some New Balance walking shoes last month. When I tried them on in the store they felt fine. But now that I've worn them for a few weeks I'm finding out that the bottom of the shoe has no grip and they are very very slippery! In stores and restaurants I literally have to hold on to my husband or a shopping cart. Today in a restaurant it was like standing on a wet sheet of ice! I paid $174 for these shoes and now I'm so disappointed. I'm a senior citizen and sure can't afford to slip and fall or afford more pairs of shoes. :( Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the bottoms less slippery?

I was selling a pair that are really nice but decided to keep them myself. They look so cute on and great colors! But! I am so glad I "kept" them because I have been wearing them and they are SLIPPERY! OMG. They are going straight in the trash. SO sad because they're so cute and make my feet look little!

I purchased my shoes in 2023 and kept noticing that I had to be very careful when walking on damp surfaces. I put them away and purchased a different brand. The New Balance shoe still looks new, so today I thought I'd pull them out and wear them to the grocery store. Before I left my home, I started slipping on my own DRY floor, which reminded me of why I had put them away in the first place. I decided to get online to see if anyone else had issues with the dangerous shoe soles...LOW and BEHOLD! I'm so thankful that I saw the complaints and these shoes will not be given away... to the TRASH where they belong. SHAMEFUL business practices. I hope they are sued.
