Denim ripped perfectly along a seam without any signs of other wear & tear
I am very disappointed with the customer service of Madewell. I bought my jeans over a year ago, and unfortunately, Madewell only looks at the 'calendar age' and not the physical age of a product. I provided photos of the jeans and there are no signs of wear and tear anywhere, while there is a perfect rip in the denim along a seam of one of the back pockets. To me, this is an indication that the product was flawed at the seam. I rotate these jeans among many others and I wash them minimally and always with cold water. This way my jeans last me about 10 years.
None of this matters to Madewell, which to me means they don't stand for their product. They lost my loyalty for sure.
Recommendation: Do not buy. Buy Everlane instead.

So I just made a purchase from Madewell's website. Everything was going great until I received an email saying that one of the items I ordered was out of stock. Now, I have to deal with the hassle of cancelling the order. And get this, when I called the customer service department, they couldn't cancel the order because they don't technically have control over the product. It's kind of frustrating that they sell it on their site, but can't do anything about it.
On top of that, my shipping and billing addresses somehow ended up wrong. I'm not even sure if I'll receive my order! Ugh, this experience has made me question whether or not I should buy from Madewell again. I'm worried that if I need to return an item, I won't be able to.
Overall, I'm feeling a little disappointed with Madewell. I just wish their website was a little more accurate about product availability and that their customer service department had more control over orders. But, hey, maybe I'm just having a rough day. We'll see how this all plays out.

I've gotta say, I was really excited when my daughter gave me a sweater from Madewell as a gift. I mean, who wouldn't be, right? But sadly, the wool in the sweater was a bit too much for my sensitive skin to handle. No worries though, my daughter assured me that returning it would be a piece of cake. She gave me a customer number and I was able to print out a return label from their website.
So far, so good. But that's where the pleasant experience ended. It's been over a month since I sent that sweater back, and I still haven't received my refund. I've reached out to Madewell's customer service team several times, but every time I get a new person who asks me for the same information that's already in the chain of emails. It's incredibly frustrating!
I mean, come on Madewell, get your act together. Your customers are putting their trust in you when they buy your products. The least you can do is make the return process, which is already unpleasant enough as it is, as smooth as possible. I'm seriously disappointed in how poorly run your returns system is. You guys need to step up and take care of your customers. It's ridiculous that I have to waste my time like this!

Ayo, lemme tell you about my experience with Madewell. I was so hyped for my order to come in, but when it did, it was a hot mess. They straight up put the wrong shipping address on it - like, how does FedEx even let that slide? I shoulda gotten it a month ago but now I'm sad cuz it's prolly lost in the mail. We had ordered a purse with monogramming for our Granddaughter as a Christmas Present, a month before the big day. We were promised that it would ship within Two Weeks, but we received it after 19 days of calling them every day for a week. The Customer Service Representatives assured us that they would call us back with a definitive ship date, but we never heard from them!
As they were late in shipping our order, they committed to upgrading the shipping. However, when the order was finally shipped, it was sent out using the SLOWEST shipping process - Surepost. The only good thing is that the purse eventually made it to us in time for the holiday.
We cannot rely on their word as it was no good during our experience with them. Despite this poor experience with Madewell, we encourage them to improve their customer service and commitment to their customers to avoid more disappointing experiences like ours.

So, I just got my refund from Madewell and guess what? They only gave me back a fraction of what I paid for my item, including the shipping! I mean, what kind of rip off is that?! Madewell: A Disappointing Attitude Towards Customer Service
I aint one to make noise, but I just had to share my experience with Madewell. So, I was just tryna buy some clothes and popped onto their site. Accidentally checked out as a guest, instead of using my insider account, you know how it goes. Lost all of them insider points, which sucked. Tried to hit up their chat team to see if they could help me out. But, boy, was I in for a rude surprise.
The chat assistant straight up brushed me off, like my question wasn't valid or something. And when I said I was still talking, they just bounced on me like it was nothing. What kinda customer service is that? I know I ain't the only one who's had this happen to them, but Madewell don't seem to care about fixing their network or nothing.
It's just plain greedy and uncaring, if you ask me. They could've helped me out, made me feel taken care of. But no, they chose to be jerks instead. And that's why I ain't giving them my business no more. There's plenty of other indie shops doing the same thing, but way better. So why even bother with Madewell's disappointing attitude?
