At the beginning of February, I had a major emergency that drained my bank account into the negatives. The bill was already in the upper four digits and climbing fast. Knowing my autopay would be attempting to run soon, I did exactly what a responsible customer is supposed to do. I contacted Navitas, explained the situation, and asked for a one week delay. I told them I was in the process of getting funds back into the account and that the check would not clear until Monday.
I was told there was no way to stop autopay. I was told it would keep trying to pull funds anyway. I was told every failed attempt would hit me with another return payment fee. The woman I spoke with made it sound like talking to me was a waste of her time, and the only thing she offered was that the fees could be refunded afterward. That was the extent of the help. No flexibility. No options. No effort.
This was over a little more than three hundred dollars.
Meanwhile, my emergency bill was climbing toward ten thousand dollars, and I was genuinely looking at not eating that night. Navitas could not have cared less as long as they got their three hundred.
And here is the part that really shows the problem. Navitas was not the only company I called. I contacted my water company, my cell provider, my power company, both credit card companies, and even my vet. Every single one of them understood immediately and worked with me. Payments were delayed by seven days or scheduled for a specific date. These were bills three times higher than Navitas, and yet Navitas was the only one that refused to make a one time adjustment for a legitimate emergency.
Now I am looking at a bill padded with late fees and return payment fees I was told I would not have to worry about. The customer service has been nothing short of disgusting. If I could give zero stars, I would. One star is generous.
I did my due diligence. I communicated clearly. I gave them the exact date funds would be available. Instead of being treated like a customer, I was treated like a burden.
As soon as I am able, this loan will be paid off in full so I never have to deal with Navitas again. I am paying off a security system through OS Technologies, and if this is the credit provider they routinely use, I cannot recommend OS Technologies either. If you hear the name Navitas attached to any supplier, do yourself a favor and run.
Recommendation: Do not use.
