Namecheap review: Namecheap is pretty much the same as a scam.

My hosting account had been virtually idle for years, but my traffic recently surged. The “Namecheap Legal and Abuse Team” emailed me, threatening to suspend my hosting within 12 hours. They made up an excuse, claiming that I was launching a DDoS attack—even though the product has a traffic limit and I had used only one-tenth of it. They clearly don’t even understand what a DDoS attack is. I replied and explained the situation, but it made no difference: they still suspended my hosting and did not refund the several months I had already paid for. This is no different from a scam.

It’s also worth mentioning that if you don’t check your email as often as I do, or you go to sleep and miss the 12-hour window, you won’t get a chance to back up your data.
