I brought my vehicle into Midas in February of ‘25 to have the spark plugs replaced. They replaced them and charged $540. It is a 2022 Toyota Highlander. I thought it was a little high for 6 plugs but compared to the dealer their price was a little better. So two weeks ago my check engine light went on and the information on the screen said pull over do not drive. So I called for a tow truck had it towed to the dealer. Dealer said the plugs were after market plugs that caused a misfire. Dealers charge to replace was $1,082. Took everything to the store and the manager induced the plugs were the correct plugs and the dealer was lying to me. I asked to speak to his manager and he refused to give me his number. Manager took copies of my invoice from Lia Toyota.
Claimed loss: At least $540 the amount I paid Midas for their plugs.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement.
