Yelp.com Auto repair

Please share this so no other seniors are subjected to this!

Warning friends in Culpeper VA! The Hale Cars Automotive group just charged my 72 year old mother $1112.61 for a rear ONLY brake job. They convinced her she needed new pads rotors and calipers on both rear wheels. I spoke to the owner/ Manager and he was unapologetic and unsympathetic. He Calais that he only deals in the highest quality parts and specifically stated this job did not take them five hours, Yet they charged $101.67 per hour for 5 hours. Per the shop a caliper was seized, and therefore that required a complete replacement for both rear brakes systems. No parts were shown to my mother to substantiate such an massive Bill. His last attempt at a justification was that the customer had to authorize the work. I asked if he enjoyed bilking elderly women. He made no effort to reconcile this egregious example of seemingly predatory practice.

Here are the charges from the receipt.

Brake pads. $127.49
Brake calipers (qty 2) $282.34
Brake rotors. $154.30
Brake flush kit. $29.95
Shop supplies. $45.00
Labor. $508.35
Tax. $32.30

TOTAL $1124.61

Desired outcome: Consumer warning, Seniors

Yelp.com Removed reviews

As soon as me and my business partner try to list our business at Yelp, we start getting calls from Yelp sales representatives to start paid advertising, first we have desided to go with a low budget plan, but later after understanding better how the Yelp advertising works we have decided to postpone it. Soon we have our first customer with a 5 star review and the next customer who have also rated our service 5 star, two reviews at 5 star have Yelp angry I guess, because first they have removed one review and week after they have removed the other review also. If you look at our business now we have 0 reviews and two reviews hidden and not recommended. This is a first time we have to deal with such dishonest business practice.

Desired outcome: Restored Reviews and stop messing with our business

Yelp.com Fraud activities

Hello. Your website can be paid off by a business to protect the guilty. Why it that? I have witnessed this several times. My report did not violate any of your rules what's so ever, but you still managed to sensor the review to protect the paying client. Why is that? My name is mandy, and I reviewed my crappy lawyer on your site, and you removed me. Why? I further looked into your site, and you have managed to remove all if the reviews on spraggs law. Why? Why do you hide this firm? How much did you get paid? I will also repost this report when needed. I did not violate any of you ruled, I see the other have not as well. I see all the other reviews have also been removed. Why? How much is mr. Thomas spraggs paying your company? We will begin to investigate yelp and the people being paid off, this is recorded, and will go public. Why do you protect [censored]ty lawyers? You can reach out to me at [protected]@protonmail.com. Rest assured, I will not allow you to put this to rest until I have uncovered all the truth on exactly why you are covering up for mr. Spraggs. Much love, mandy.

Desired outcome: justice

Yelp.com Surgical healthcare provider refuses patient access

March 8. 2021 Bay Area Surgical of St. Petersburg, FL is refusing to see patients who can't wear masks. I wrote a complaint on Yelp because my health is at risk. I scheduled and called to ask them if I need to use another entrance or what? I never got that far. When I told her I was calling so the mask was not an issue. She immediately blocked me from explaining the vision and breathing problems. She refused access to my appointment. (made last year), and my doctor will likely never know it so I am taking it far enough that he will hear me. My surgery is affecting my eyesight and my breathing.

The office manager, Olivia was abusive rather than helpful. She said well too bad, you will just have to wait until the laws are lifted! I told he there were no mask laws and I have a right to see my doctor. I was livid when I got off the phone with her and recalled to reach my Doctor and she blocked me. I think she appointed herself my doctor and refused me essential medical care.

Even worse, I need more corrective surgery and was referred to the same place. I will likely be dead before the masking problem stops. I can wear a paper bag over my head as long as it does not touch my face.

I complained on yelp, seeking a solution and was immediately blocked from going to the Yelp site again. Somebody must have pressured them to block me. Now I can even see the site anymore.

Desired outcome: I want to see Dr. Collins and get my sonogram asap w/o a hassle.

Yelp.com Refuse to post 5-star reviews / refuse to remove 1-star reviews

A client posted a 5-star review it went immediately to "not recommended..."
See attachment shows review put on yelp at 4:48 / screenshot shows it went into not recommended by 4:49. I know they will say it is their algorithms, but that is an absolute lie. I had many clients post 5-star reviews, none of them went to where they were counted. But all the 1-star reviews went into the area where they counted against my star rating, until I flagged them, repeatedly!

I've shown Yelp that the 1-star reviews are an online attack against my company, but showing that eight 1-star reviews suddenly started getting posted over a short period of time. They refuse to remove them.

Desired outcome: Remove ALL 1-star reviews OR BETTER YET, remove my listing from Yelp

Yelp.com Yelp ads

I agreed to a promo from yelp when updating business information. I did not enter a CC so I did not think they would charge me. Somehow they had access to an old CC from years ago and charged over $500. We still have $450 worth of unused ads but Yelp refuses to provide us with a refund.

Very tricky terms of service bait and switch. Seems to be an extremely deceptive approach, a little ironic considering they are a review site.

This same thing has happened to me and my business. Yelp has very shady salespeople. Until I agreed to sign up for the promo and run the Ads I couldn’t get this guy Andrew off my phone, but I agreed because of these Ad credits that I never received. So now that I have an issue, I can’t get him to even return a voice mail because he knows he’s a shady [censored]. I absolutely hate Yelp and do not EVER want anything to do with them.

Yelp.com Internet advertising

Tried upgraded yelp ad for a year back in 2017 with mixed results. Couple months ago, a young lady calls me every week for a month, trying to get me to re-start. I tell her no. A young man, Johnathan Goldman calls me from yelp. We agree to try yelp on a trial, temp. basis for FIVE days from the 3rd of June to the 8th of June. At the end of the month, I receive a huge $540 bill for the whole month. After spending hours on hold and sending numerous e-mails, I finally get an e-mail back saying "Too bad, YOU didn't cancel". No where did anyone tell me I had to cancel anything! As for my "upgraded" page, it was never set up. Blatant rip off.

Yelp.com Airfare

I booked a 'vacation package' from Chicago to San Diego, so that I could go see my Daddy at UCSD La Jolla before he suddenly passed away. He passed in his sleep the day
before I was to leave on my very last minute trip. As you can imaging my family and i were going through enough with the untimely death of my father alone. I tried to contact
United Vacations to cancel my trip in time. I spent an entire day on hold with customer service...sometimes given a hold time of up to 4 hours. WHile I was waiting I was
intermittenly sending emails to the customer support email supplied by them. I was trying to do everything right so that I could get my trip cancelled and refunded, since I
would now have to drive to California to take care of all of his arrangements. Not only did the hold time keep increasing, I never got one single repsonse to any of my emails. I
even called United directly only to be told they could not help with the United Vacation issue. To date no response of any sort received. All the while I am mourning my Dad
and trying to arrange his burial as that cost was all on me as well. This was by far the absolute worst experience I have ever endured. So unprofessional. My final call to them
stated I was next in line, yet was kept on hold for 72 minutes. I will not let this go. I will report them to every single agency/bureau until I get my full refund back. I will provide
any documention needed (death certificate, etc). This is the most inhumane treatment I have EVER received and will NEVER fly United again. I am sickened by this behaviour. I
highly recommend that NOONE ever use this United Vacation package. I was under the impression in would be easier to bundle everything, since, keep in mind all I could
thing of was getting to my father before he passed. I have spread the word to many of my colleagues who did use United. I will not give up until I get a FULL Refund. I am
unemployed due to Covid 19, therefore money does not come easy right now!

Yelp.com Need help!

Impossible to reach anyone at yelp. If you are reputable, customers should be able to reach you with no problem. I would like this question answered, please:
How can we rely that complaints and reviews for companies are legitimate when the person/business we are complaining about can coerce us into removing our complaint by bribing us with gift cards, etc.?
That means many of the comments that would help us make a decision about a person or company will never be seen by us because the complainer removed it after receiving a gift card or other means of bribing. There is no proper category for my complaint, and I can't continue without one, so I just put "business & finance" in order to complete this inquiry.

Yelp.com Review ratings

They pick and choose what yelp review they put up. Have multiple 5 star review but they decide not to show them in the yelp rating - very unfair to small business owner. The one yelp review that they think in correct is about a person that had a personal disagreement with and posted a bad review. Unbelievable

Yelp.com cancellation of vacation during covid-19

I booked my vacation in December 2019 to Jamaica through United Vacations for 5/1/2020. Due to the COVID-19, the hotel in Jamaica is closed. I called to cancel my trip and they want to charge me a $600.00 cancellation fee or $300.00 if I take a credit for a future vacation within one year. I told them that I would be willing to take the $300.00 loss if I can be guaranteed the same package that I booked and they said no, they could not do this. I am waiting to see at the last minute if they are going to have the hotel open and the flights going there. If they aren't, they should refund me all because I am not cancelling. Not sure how they are going to handle this, but if I do not get a full refund, I will see them in court. Can anybody else make any suggestions on how I should handle this situation?

Has anyone tried to call United Vacations.. I would be on hold at times 30 to 45 minutes and the announcement is made announcing how much time I have left and the time is going up. I'm not understanding how I can be sitting on hold and I'm moving down in in the wait time now I'm up to 57 minutes and I started out at 36 minutes and I've been on hold waiting 27 minutes. Yelp.com Customer service

I called today to try to get some answers to some questions and the man who answered the phone was so rude and hung up on me. Yelp is a terrible site with horrible way of determining reviews that are recommended. I just want to get my actual customers reviews on my page its that simple. I understand that yelp gets tons of reviews everyday but it would be helpful if they had a department that would go over some of these where businesses could call and try to make sure there actual customers reviews are being posted on there page.

Yelp.com Small business pay per click advertising

Sales rep call to say "your small business is not being seen by all people looking for services on Yelp" - then proceed to sell an Upgraded Advertising program which will put the company higher on searches within the business category and will allow for it to be listed even on competitors company pages (at bottom) IT is supposedly pay-per-click, with a monthly maximum price which they asked us to agree to.

Soon the first bill arrived for a partial month, at which time one phone call had come to us for a service not connected to what we do.

Then a full month's bill arrived at 20% over the maximum agreed upon price. When calling, we were told this was due to "extras you agreed to" - but there is no way to verify the number of clicks or views by potential customers. There is no follow-through with intelligence upon Where, Why and how the supposed clicks reached our page.

We don't believe any of the Clicks data, No one at Yelp will discuss this with us, so we therefore believe this program to be a hoax.

Thanks for confirming this very crooked way that Yelp siphons money out of small businesses. For one, I won't use their products in any way now, and certainly won't buy advertising from them ever again.

Same thing happened to us. Yelp reached out to our office and bamboozled me into signing up for Yelp Ads. The rep walked me through adding in extra upgrades, which I was not aware was an over and above the daily pay- per-click cost. I was given the distinct impression that we only pay if people click on our Yelp page. Strangely, enough people clicked on our add to max out our per click budget. Yelp claims we got calls through Yelp. That is simply not true.

Yelp.com Misrepresentations made by account executive and unauthorized credit card charges

I was contacted by account executive Shane Gomez on several occasions regarding advertising with YELP. I was extremely reluctant to do until he offered me a 2 week period at a cost of $150.

When he e-mailed me the contract, he went through it with me, telling me where to sign and enter my credit card information. I reiterated that it was just for 2 weeks and would only cost me $150!

Imagine my surprise when my account was debited for $318.97. When I contacted customer support, Lane told me he would listen to the tape and get back to me on 11/6 or 11/7. I called back on the 8th and spoke with Travis. Travis was very rude and told me I should have read the fine print rather than listen to Mr. Gomez. I am seeking a refund based on the misrepsentations made to me and the charge to my account.

Yelp.com Advertising sales

They pulled a Bait and Switch. They promised me a $300 credit so I sighed up for ad campaign per clicks, but then I was billed $389. They claim it was not a "Credit" but a "Bonus" for extra advertising. I have spoken with several Customer Service reps and even my initial Sales Woman, and they all say "Sorry for your luck but no refund"

Yelp is a complete scam!

Yelp.com Lie lie and more lies... Yelp lied again

On september 25th 2018 my dog died at 7 years old... Of heart diesease... Not only was this dog included but my other dog went threw 8 surgerys as well as my oldest at the time was diagnosed with dm (a spinal disorder) which her spine is sperating... The vet im mentioning I will not mention the name as they have settled with me...

However!

My problem resides with yelp... I left a review for my vet, 100% honest about my problem (yelp removed it)... I left another, removed again... I did this atleast 5 times all reviews were removed... Lastly yelp told me one of my reviews is still poste... It is not! Yelp states my reviews have nothing to do with the business at hand, however my reviews do have something to do with the business at hand... And what is my purpose of leaving a review if its removed! If others can learn from my mistakes of a doctor giving false statements then this should mean something... Lets also add here that the vet also stated I was in financial hurt and I cant afford 3 dogs... These 3 dogs would stay with my mother who is 71 and runs a state run daycare who is in financial hurt due to my father dying at a early age from a viet nam war illness... Im not in financial hurt, im a huge investor mainly with kelloggs and earn a dividend that equals most peoples yearly pay... The vet confused my mother as my wife on a number of occasions and I stated this in my reviews... Yelp dosnt take kindly to negative truthfully reviews, yelp seems to live at the north pole were santa claus roams and elfs deliver mail... Lets keep in mind here most dog owners (and cat) consider there pets as a part of the family... Yelp dosnt understand this, as long as their client is premier costumer and pays the fee they will filter negative reviews... Well I wont stand for it!

On august 22nd a day after my birthday, yelp filed a police report against me, and 2 officer showed up at my door wanting to arrest me... On hand was audio of me making threats to yelp and claiming im a apache indian and im messing with voo doo... Swearing and using political slander... Lets keep in mind a lot of these calls came in between midnight and 3 am... Of course the audio kinda sounds like me, the police states it was me, however there was ticking in the audio... I asked a good friend (who will show up in court if need be) about this, and he states I had been framed... Either I was set up by my famous identity thief who started stealing from me from paypal at this time or I was set up by yelp... The audio seems to be stole from my youtube videos... And my friend will stand up for me in court!... Yelp filed a police report against me for something I didn't do...

Facts

1. I go to sleep around 9am-10am...2. Im polish (threw my mother) and french and brasilian threw my dad...3. The caller seems to be drunk or high... (I dont use drugs or alcohol)….. Hate to tell yelp but I have enough info for court now...

Yelp.com cleary and hammond

This last weekend this firm organized the legal kidnapping of my children through an off the record in chambers phone call with a biased commissioner in juvenile dependency court despite having a written notice that I am no consenting to any in chambers discussion. As a result the commissioner had the children removed from me although she was well aware an appeal was filed.

I had to charge back my credit card twice and I was not allowed to have a fair trial. They charged me $5000 in order to file 4 stand in objections on my behalf and extroverted me sending me a fake bill for $30000 for no work at all.

They had me sign a retainer that said restraining order and juvenile dependency but we're paid for juvenile dependency. They literally one night told me to leave my documents and stole my substitution of attorney out of my file and pretended I hired them for for the restraining order. Luckily I had taken a photo of it with my phone. They should be disbarred. You need to hire several attorneys to fix the mess these people put you in it's devastating.

Yelp.com charged extra for in-store product

My name is Donald Greene, On July 05, 2019 at approximate 12:11 pm, I purchased a beer for $1.89. The cashier made a mistake at the register and then tried to correct it. In the process she charged me an extra $5. 16. I didn't discover what she had did until 30 minutes later and I immediately called the gas station. The clerk told me to come in. After arriving back at the store, the on shift manager was very rude and refused to put back the $5.16 on my debit card. She had accused me of arguing with her, which was untrue. Five dollars isn't much and will not break or make me, but it was her rudeness and unprofessionalism that fueled the fire in me even more.

Yelp.com Reviews

So yelp has been working out for our company for the most part. Problem being is that from 20 good yelp reviews "from customers" where token down. They even took down customers generated from there own site that I pay for with ads. Now we have to see if we continue to get calls because like everyone the good reviews gets you calls. I was planning on spending more money on advertising but after calling them twice to have them better explain the process and them removing more calls seriously right after... Yeah i'm good

Yelp.com Reviews

Yelp does not post all reviews from everyone. They only post reviews from people who frequent their site. If a person has only written one review on yelp, the review does not show up! it doesn't matter if they wrote 10 reviews or 1 review. It is not up to yelp to decide that review is not valuable or worthy of being shown.

We have had several reviews written and posted that do not get shown. Only one review that was ever written shows up.

It seems like any review that gets written should show up in chronological order. Yelp should not block any review! Good or bad!

The way they hide reviews and don't allow them to be counted makes the site fake!

Yelp affects businesses, business owners and people who are employed at such businesses. They should be monitored for accuracy and required to show all reviews. No picking and choosing! Business owners should have the right to respond to each review. That is the only way to make it fair.
