Business Response While we here at Landmark Home Solutions are highly apologetic for the length of time this process has taken, several circumstances have been entirely out of our control. This contract was signed on September 4, 2020 however getting this valued homeowner approved funding took several weeks and it is only once they have been approved for the funding, can the manufacturing process begin, and next steps begin. In order for the loan to be approved, a copy of a valid drivers license of the homeowner was required. This process took over 2 weeks for Landmark to obtain as the original driver's license submitted by the homeowner was no longer valid since it had expired. This delayed our process. Additionally, to be approved for a home improvement loan, a void cheque or PAP was also required to be put forth by the homeowner. This process then took an additional 3 weeks as the customer had to obtain a PAP from their bank as the void cheque originally put forth by them had no embossing on it and would not be accepted by any financial institutions. Lastly, COVID 19 has created massive delays not only for Landmark Home Solutions but the home improvement industry. And while it is true that during COVID manufacturing could continue, several suppliers we rely on for raw materials were not. Therefore, product could not be obtained, and manufacturing completed. We too would like nothing more then to get this project completed and installed for this valued homeowner. We are very close to completion and look forward to reaching out as soon as it is finished. While I could understand delays and circumstances outside of control, it does not release Landmark's responsibility to deliver on goods and services within a reasonable timeframe especially when they have sold the said goods and services during COVID time. Even if it had taken five weeks as Landmark said to obtain loan approval, it was mid February by the time the complaint was delivered to them. That is approximately five months minus five weeks. It is March 3rd as of writing this response which has been now six months minus five weeks. Attempting to attribute five weeks delay to explain a half year delay is outrageous to say the least. It has been nearly half a year in delays for two sets of doors. Pandemic delay or not, I would have been able to get two doors installed by now had I gone with any other companies at this point. To make things worse, Landmark could not even be bothered to provide a completion date in their BBB response nor relayed ANY of these delays with any timeframe over half a year. Mentioning Landmark is nearing completion does not resolve the concern raised here at all, and we are no less informed about the promised doors six month ago. When my father signed the contract in September there was the expectation it would be completed before the winter season. Nothing was communicated to him about the delays including financial approvals, it is still nearly half-a-year delay at this point. Even worse, he had to pay more for heating because cold air was seeping through the old doors hiking up his heating bills during these difficult times. 1) Please provide the expected installation of two doors immediately. If the door is as near completion as it was stated in Landmark's response, I expect it to be ready to be installed within a week of receiving this response (it has been a week already since the response, that gives them two weeks). If unable to set satisfactory installation timeframe and proper job completion, please void the sales and give us back $3000 in deposit so that we can move on with someone who can get the job done. If Landmark were honest about doors being near completion, I would expect the two weeks installation timeframe to be not unreasonable. 2) If the doors are being installed within said timeframe above, provide appropriate compensation in discount for the delays and cost being incurred by my father throughout the winter. No updates were given at any point on the completion timeline since signing of contract, and Landmark can only blame delays related to pandemic for so long. Business Response I can happily state that this job has since been completed and the customer signed of. Unfortunately, most home improvement companies, not just Landmark are all experiencing vastly longer timelines then normal due to supply chain issues related to COVID 19. As an apology however we did go above and beyond including reducing the balance owed by this customer as an apology for the extended timelines.
