I visited Kwik Fit in Cheadle Cheshire on 2/1/26 at 8.30 am to ask for a puncture repair. The small tac was clearly visible in the middle of the tread and the tyre had covered only 6000 miles. To enable me to get to the garage I had injected Holts Tyreweld puncture repair foam into the tyre. The can clearly states that this foam is water soluble and its presence should in itself not be a reason to buy a new tyre. The manager insisted that because of the foam I would need a new tyre. When I pointed out Holts statements on the can, he said a replacement tyre was, under these circumstances, company policy. This cannot be the case…..can it? A small local garage took 20 minutes to repair the puncture and charged me £29.
Recommendation: Don’t use Kwik Fit. Holts Tyreweld does not damage tyres.
