Kroger Fraudulent charges

Hello,

I have the Kroger app which I use to purchase my groceries. I reside in Illinois. I received an email from ("Ralphs) stating that my order was being processed for pick-up. I was hesitant to open because I am not even familiar with the store. Turns out it part of Kroger and somebody has been using my personal app to purchase groceries in the states of California, Texas and Ohio. There are five charges dated: 7/31, 8/1, 8/4, 8/6 & 8/10/2023. I called and reported it to your customer service and after an 1 1/2 I was told there is nothing you can do, that I will not be reimbursed. This is an absolute SHAME! You are a billion dollar company and because of your un-secured website I as a loyal customer am being punished with over $700 in charges. I am writing to request that I be reimbursed as I live paycheck to paycheck and this is really crippling me. I hope your company does the right thing. I can be contacted at [protected] Email: [protected]@yahoo.com

Sharon Kennedy

Desired outcome: I want to be re-imbursed for the purchase made through my kroger account.

Kroger Unprofessional driver

I placed an order for delivery for Saturday, July 29 between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.

For over a year Kroger kept posting on their website that the driver will contact you when they arrive. But Kroger customer service representatives, supervisors and corporate office personnel kept telling me that it's not their policy. But they ignored my question why they had it on their website.

I have to keep going back and forth in my apartment building looking for the delivery truck.

This morning about 15 minutes to 6:00 I thought I heard a truck pulling into the complex. I opened the front door of the building and thought I heard an engine running. But it was dark outside and I didn't know if I heard the air conditioners of the other residents. Turned out the driver turned off every light on the truck. Normally I could see the flashers and the lights on the corners of the box.

Since it had just rained and I was in my stocking feet I ran up the two flights of stairs and slipped on my shoes.

At the same time my doorbell rang. I immediately went down the stairs. As soon as I reached the second flight I saw my groceries laying on the filthy sidewalk. I asked the driver why he dumped my groceries on the ground.

He rudely responded that he had the RIGHT to leave the groceries on the ground if I didn't answer the door.

He either put the bags on the ground right before or immediately after ringing the doorbell. He was too lazy and incompetent to wait 10-15 seconds for me to get to the door.

Also he arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled delivery window.

He had no intention to be professional and hand me the bags.

He needs to be terminated.

Desired outcome: Drivers should notify the customer by text or call when they are close. Driver should hand the bags to the customer.

Kroger Bullied by the manager.

My husband I went to your Moraine Kroger's on Saturday July 22, 2023, around 2:00 pm. We encountered a problem with the self-register, after scanning over $200.00 worth of groceries the register froze up and the attendant could not get it unfroze and she called a manager which to my surprise she was quite rude we I asked if we could just take the total and add the last item and we could get out there. The store was warm and as I was bagging the frozen items, I noticed that some of the boxes were not cold like they normally are. They informed me that they would have to rescan the whole cart again; I was not having that they were already getting warm and by the time they rescanned it would have been spoiled. What I was asking was not unreasonable, take a picture of the items that was on the broken machine and when the machine came back up put in for inventory or go around and scan the items in.

We were frustrated and as I was leaving, I asked if there was a higher Manager and the said yes (I really did not want to have to go to another Kroger.) We he arrived already looking like he was aggravated and didn't even acknowledge me or look at me, basically talked to the other Managers and sided with them. I said fine and were leaving and the on female manager smart mouth of that by this time they could have been rescanned. I said BS I did not call anyone any names or threaten anyone. My husband said the staff is lazy as we were walking out, the higher male manager said something as we are walking out and my husband turned around and said F you, again did not threaten or call anyone any names. As we were outside of the store the male manager was chasing us pointing his finger and threatening to call the police and we were not allowed back in the store. Why would a manager chase someone out of the store when they were already leaving? I stopped and looked at him told him to F off. I am not proud of it but I did not threaten or call anyone any names and was extremely frustrated and disappointed, doesn't seem to be any customer service. It seems that employees and Managers can say what they want and not do anything useful or helpful.

For the male manager to chase after someone who was already leaving is completely appalling.

I have been in customer service for over 20 some years and I completely appalled by this lake of customer service. There was no excuse for him follow us out of the store.

Desired outcome: The male manager should be fired!! We should be allowed to go into that store. We did nothing wrong.

I live in Paris, TN. We have a Kroger, A Walmart, a IGA, not much to choose from when it comes to groceries. This is a pretty poor area, not much manufacturing going on here, many people on SNAP. Kroger Terrible Experience at Kroger: Lost Money, Unhelpful Manager, and Rude Employee

I recently had a terrible experience at Kroger while trying to cash in my child's coins at CoinStar. My seven-year-old and I counted out almost $73 dollars in change before going to the store, but we were only given a voucher for $37.93! I was shocked and upset, so I went to speak to the manager, Lee Ann, about the situation. Unfortunately, she didn't seem to care at all and told me to call CoinStar instead. I knew this wasn't true, so I called CoinStar myself and found out that Lee Ann should have retrieved all the loose coins not in the black boxes and re-fed them through the feeder. I was told to go back to the store to get my money back.

When I returned to the store, Lee Ann was there with a man named William. I explained what I had been told and she started to call someone. However, while we were talking, my son overheard William say "I don't know and I don't care" in response to a question. I was shocked and asked him what he meant, and he repeated what William had said. I turned to William and asked him to clarify, and he repeated himself again! I couldn't believe it - he had been blatantly rude to my child right in front of the manager! When I asked Lee Ann if she was going to do anything about it, she denied that he had said anything and refused to fire him on the spot.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Kroger. Not only did I lose a significant amount of money, but the manager and employees were unhelpful and rude. I would not recommend shopping at this store and will be boycotting Kroger in the future.

Kroger Deceptive Pricing and Membership Program at Kroger: My Terrible Experience

I just had to write a review about Kroger because I had such a terrible experience there. I'm not from around here, so I didn't know about their "membership" program, and I think they took advantage of that. When I walked in, it looked like any other grocery store, but I soon found out that the prices were way higher than I expected.

They had these big stickers on everything that made it look like things were on sale, but when I got to the checkout, I realized that the real price was much higher. I must have missed some fine print or something, because I had no idea that the prices were so inflated. I was only in town for a couple of days, so I was looking for some cheap items that I didn't need long-term. I ended up spending $140 on just a few small things!

For example, I saw a bottle of California wine that was marked $8, but when I got to the checkout, it was actually $19. I could have bought a much better bottle of wine for that price. And a pack of five men's underwear was $40! That's just ridiculous. I could have gone to Publix or Walmart and gotten the same things for much less.

I could have even gone to Whole Foods and gotten better quality items for less money. The whole experience was so deceptive and unnecessary, and I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I left the store feeling upset and violated, and I will never go back there again.

It's not surprising to see that they only have one star on their reviews. I think they need to be more honest with their customers and stop trying to trick them into paying more than they should. It's a shame, because I think they could be a good store if they were more transparent about their prices.

Kroger Disappointing Experience at Kroger in Rockwall: High Prices, Gnats in Bread, and Poor Customer Service

I recently went to Kroger in Rockwall on N. Goliad and spent a whopping 1 1/2 hours shopping. When I first walked in, I noticed that the blueberries were priced at $4.99 for a 1.8 oz package, which seemed a bit steep for just one person. I asked the woman in the produce department about it and showed her the difference in weight between that package and a smaller one that was 0.98 oz, but she didn't have an answer for me and just said that they were told to put it there.

Next, I headed over to the fresh bread aisle, where they make it fresh. Unfortunately, I noticed that there were gnats flying inside the closed bag. I brought it to the attention of the ladies behind the counter, but they told me to leave it there. I also noticed that there were more bags with gnats in them, so I decided not to buy any bread.

Despite these issues, I continued to go up and down every aisle, filling up my large cart. However, when I got to the checkout, there was only one lane open and no bagger. I understand that they may be short-handed, but with three large orders in front of me, it was frustrating to have to do their job and pay high prices for it. I asked if they could open another lane, but was told to use the self-checkout. However, with a full cart and tired of baggers putting snowballs in with my fresh veggies, I asked the young bagger if they received any training on how to properly bag groceries, but they said no.

After leaving the store, I called to complain and was offered a $30 credit, but I can make more than that working on eBay. I'm tired of the way they treat people and left my basket of groceries behind to go to Aldi instead. It's unfortunate to report bad news about Kroger on N. Goliad in Rockwall, Texas, but I hope they can improve their customer service and quality control in the future.

Kroger Kroger's Tricky Soda Pop Pricing: A Frustrating Experience

My wife always tells me to check our grocery receipts from Kroger. They always seem to overcharge us for something. My biggest issue is with the soda pop section. You have to read every word on the shelf tag or you'll end up paying more than you should. I usually get it right, but today I made the same mistake I've made countless times before.

Their trick is to change the number of bottles you have to buy to get the marked price. They change the font size each time, so sometimes it's small and other times it's large. It's not always easy to spot, especially when you're not expecting it to be so big.

The generic brand is the trickiest. One week it's 69 cents if you buy 3, the next week it's 79 cents if you buy 5. This week, the name brand is 88 cents if you buy 4. Some weeks, you can buy just one for 79 cents, while other weeks you have to buy 5 to get the 79 cent price. It's confusing and frustrating.

Today, I got caught and didn't read the tag quite right. I bought three name brand sodas that I thought would be 88 cents each--that's the biggest font size. But when I went to check out, it was $1.67. I went to customer service and the lady there pointed out that it was 88 cents for four, not three. She was right, but I still muttered a few polite criticisms and told her to take them all back. I didn't buy any. The store brand was 79 cents if you buy...I forgot to look.

It's always like this with Kroger. They're always tricking the customer. If you spend $100 or more on groceries, you probably won't notice that you got ripped off. Who has the time to look at 40 or 50 items anyway? Kroger always wins.

Kroger Kroger's VIP Card System is a Nightmare: My Frustrating Experience at Fry's Store in Sierra Vista, Arizona

I gotta say, I've been having some major issues with Kroger lately. I've been trying to use my VIP card for digital coupons at the Fry's store in Sierra Vista, Arizona for over two months now, and it's been a complete nightmare. I've wasted so much time trying to get this problem solved, but it seems like nobody at Kroger really cares.

I've gone to the customer service desk at the store, and I've filed several online complaints through my account, but nothing seems to be working. On October 27, 2022, I finally got a response from Abigail at Kroger, who apologized for the problems and said she added $15 to my account (Reference #***). But when I checked my account, the money wasn't there. I tried emailing her back, but she never responded. So I called the number she gave me (***377), and the person who answered said they had fixed the problem with my digital coupons. But when I went to the store, the coupons still weren't showing up at checkout.

To make matters worse, there's a wrong VIP card number in my online account that I can't edit. I've told Abigail and Malique (who responded to my new complaint, Reference #***) about this, but they both just told me to edit the number myself. But every time I try, I get an error message saying my last name and correct VIP account number don't match.

Honestly, this whole experience has been a total mess. It's clear that the Kroger system is dysfunctional, and I'm seriously considering switching to Safeway. It's a shame, because I used to really like shopping at Kroger, but this has just been too much.

Kroger Mixed Experience at Kroger: Freshness Issues and Food Poisoning Concerns

I have been shopping at Kroger for quite some time now, and I have to say that my experience has been a mixed bag. While there are times when I have found fresh and delicious food, there have also been instances where the food has been less than fresh. For instance, I once bought stale bread, eggs that made me sick, and spoiled milk that I had just purchased. I also found rotten sweet potatoes and a dead bee in strawberries. To make matters worse, I once came across moldy jello and egg rolls that gave me food poisoning.

One time, I saw white mold on beef jerky that I decided not to purchase and gave it to one of the workers there because it looked gross. I also remember years ago finding a piece of glass in my food that I purchased from the area where they sell lunch meat, cooked chicken, and ready-made food. I bit into it and felt something hard, and it turned out to be a chunk of glass from their containers. It's kind of laughable that their commercials say "fresher than fresh" when many times that's just not the case. In fact, sometimes the food I buy at Kroger either ends up returned or in my trash.

I returned the spoiled milk once, but most of the time, I don't feel like the hassle, and I just toss it in the trash. I actually got sick from their food not knowing it was bad, like their eggs once made me very sick, and their frozen egg rolls years later made me very sick. I get all my flu shots and vaccines, and I'm pretty sure Kroger eggs made us sick because only people that got sick were the ones who ate the boiled eggs. I remember that Easter I was laying on the bathroom floor, pooing and puking my guts out! I never been so sick in my life after eating Kroger eggs. My guest that ate the boiled eggs called and said they also became sick, and the ones that didn't eat boiled eggs were fine. That's why I'm pretty sure it was their eggs.

Also, I'm the type that doesn't keep anything past the expiration date. It's a gamble. Sometimes their food is okay, and sometimes it's not. I had a friend tell me she and her grandson got sick after eating Kroger potatoes. In 2021, I felt like I was going to die after eating their egg rolls, but fortunately, I was fine the next day. All in all, while Kroger has some good deals and a wide variety of products, I would caution shoppers to be careful and check the freshness of the food before purchasing.
