Kindred Healthcare We were to have a nurse come ASAP to teach me to do my husbands infusions for severe Sepsis

Jan. 15th 2021. No nurse showed up. The medical supplies arrived but no nurse. He was in need of his infusion so we went to flagler er & they refused treatment or admittance. They never asked for insurance ids or anything (which we have). They not only refused us treatment which I told her he will die, since sepsis is fatal and had already reached his spine. But she had us thrown out. So they violated the emtala law.
All this because kindred never sent a rn. When I called kindred, they told me my husband was not in their system (computer). I said just send someone to teach me, i'll even pay out of pocket. No way, they refused. I went on youtube & watched an infusion video. I was scared to death that i'd kill him. There was a pump for the 24 hr iv bags that needed to be replaced and syringes for flushes, antibiotics, heparin etc. I have no medical experience. After 6 days a nurse came from another company that was arranged. Due to the nightmare I went through I now have been diagnosed with ptsd. I can't get the whole incident out of my mind. First with kindred then being thrown out of an er.

Desired outcome: They should be fined and for the pain I went through, no eating, no sleeping, afraid I’d kill him and now suffering with PTSD, And now trying to get help for it. We deserve something.

Kindred Healthcare medication not given when prescribed by the doctor for 4 days because medication has run out.

The affects of not having the seizure medication happen on June 8, 2017, when Shirley D. Walz was not feeling well at the Dinner table about 5 p.m. She complained to the nurses and was not able to eat her food and was falling asleep at the dinner table. She was then wheeled to her room and was not taken out of her wheel chair but was left there from about 6 p.m. till 11 p.m. without being checked on. During this time she was not coherent and had pooped and peed her pants. Normally she is able to get out of her bed and wheel herself to the bathroom when she needs to go to the restroom. Friday early morning she ended up going to the hospital because she had a seizure. When Amanda Walz had talk to Kindred, Amanda told them to call 911 because she was not speaking but was able to open her eyes. On June 14, 2017, Amanda spoke with the board at Kindred and come to find out they had not given Shirley D. Walz her Seizure medication for the last 4 days twice a day as prescribed by the doctor. Shirley D. Walz was on the road to recovery with the proper medication and now she is set back not only did she have a seizure by also a stroke. If it wasn't for Amanda she would have been left for dead.

I feel like the nursing staff was neglectful in not making sure the proper mediation is on hand and taking the responsibility in refilling when needed. Since the family is unable to be apart of the medication process. I feel the reason for this incident is failure to have medication for Shirley D. Walz in order to prevent seizures from happening. I would appreciate this incident being further looked into so Shirley D. Walz and others are properly cared for in this facility.
