They provided a very fast quote. We had to deal with wet weather, but the communication was very good. They took great care at the edges of the driveway. My driveway is beautiful. I would use them again.

I used Kaplan to re-pave my driveway. They were fantastic. Matt *** came out and gave the initial quote -- he was very thorough and explained, in detail, how the job would go. He was also available by text or phone throughout the job for questions. Amber *** and Brenda *** did a great job ensuring I was aware of when all parts of the job were scheduled. The crew that came by to rip out the existing pavement and prep the area were great. A few days later they came back and I had a new driveway! Last, Jenny *** made sure all the invoices were delivered, so I was sure of what I needed to pay and by when. In each interaction, everyone I dealt with was professional, thorough, and showed great customer service. I would use Kaplan again in a heartbeat - and, in fact, I have recommended them to neighbors already!

I've had 2 jobs completed by Kaplan, a driveway and a paver walkway. *** (sales) was professional and arrived always when scheduled, and if he was delayed he would call and advise. The driveway turned out great, neighbors have stopped by and complimented the work. The job was scheduled and they came out when they said they would thanks to *** and Brie (office personnel). They kept me informed every step of the process, from scheduling to billing. The paver project was delivered as promised as well. While it took a little longer than expected because of an unexpected, hidden second poured sidewalk that took extra time to remove, but once that was removed, everything went smoothly and it turned out great! Anyone that stops by and walks around the back and sees the paver walkway compliments the work. I plan on having more work completed, but quality does not come cheaply, so I must save my pennies for the next stage. Overall, a great company to work with! Thanks to ***, *** and Brie! "

When I called Kaplan to get information about having my driveway re-asphalted, *** called me to set up an appointment. He was very helpful and kind. He explained exactly what would need to be done and sent me a quote. When covid shut so much down I was not able to obtain the permit for some time. This spring I called *** and he assured me the price was good. He kindly talked me through everything again. The first team came to dig up the cement covered with asphalt until the rain stopped them. They were a great *** worried about someone else finishing up the digging. The next team was eqaully professional and did a wonderful job. After the inspection the next team came to do the asphalt. They also were fantastic. The girls in the office were also very knowledgable and professional. I thought my job was probably considered small compared to other jobs, but from *** to all the workers they all made me feel that my job was just as important as any really big job. I would recommend Kaplan to anyone who asked me about my driveway.Truly professional, courteous & knowledgeable through out the job. *** C

Absolute worst customer service ever. Wont even honor any type of warranty on their workmanship. Pitched the water on my driveway directly toward the house where I walk out my door. Discussed the pitch concerns with the salesman and he said he noted The requirements for the job. Freezes to a ice pond in the winter to slip when walking out the door. *** comes out to look at it and makes promises and never follows up and corresponds to what he proposed when he was asked to put it in writing. Several different people call and email and (we have documented all failed attempts) but no follow through on what the solution would be. They Call and email in November to do a repair but admit they would have best results on a repair in July and never explain what repair or follow up. Finally contact their liability insurance and Kaplan canceled the day before. They are now (***) giving us a runaround for 6 months. Meanwhile Kaplan sends a collection letter for final payment without ever resolving the problem. Ha! Also, A forensic insurance investigator agreed the drive was pitched incorrectly and the job was done wrong. I did not agree to a repaired cut up drive way only a new drive installed properly. I didnt get what was initially promised and wont accept their incompetence to resolve any further.

I will never use Kaplan paving again. The process started off really well with one of their sales guys (Joe). He was attentive and quick with responses and sold the company very well and we decided to use them and signed the contract. Unfortunately, this is where everything went down hill. Communication fell apart once the contract was done and took over a month of leaving voicemails to even get an install on the books. Once finally completed had minor issues which the installer said was not an issue. The issue was a discolored area approximately 8 inches wide and approximately 14 feet long. The installer actually said to me "I understand it looks different but it is probably the strongest part of the driveway". After several calls inquiring to have someone come take a look and not getting any returned phone calls I figured it to be a lost cause. A few months later the discolored spot starts to divot and the asphalt becomes loose and you can lift up small pieces of asphalt. I call and email again and get no response for weeks. Finally get through to someone who says it's a quality control issue the marks are probably power steering marks. After explaining that the we keep our vehicles in the garage and we dont sit in the driveway turning our wheels she transfers me to the same person (Brenda) who was the original one who never returned calls. Needless to say she never called back. Time for sealcoating since Kaplan has a 5 yr warranty if you use them every year for sealcoating. They call back a few days later and I explain to them the issues I was having and said the will send me to quality control who will come look at my issues. Before hanging up we schedule my seal coating 3 weeks in advance to give enough time for quality control to figure out what they are doing. After about 2 weeks I cancel the seal coating because quality control still did not respond. On the date the sealcoating was originally scheduled and canceled, Kaplan shows up anyway and seal coats the driveway when they were canceled and confirmed to be canceled. During the seal coat they splashed my garage door and garage foundation with sealer. They also dumped some of their sealer in my grass and left big oil stains on the apron of the driveway. Call them again and after a few days get a call back and again told we will get sent to quality control. At this point I'm pretty sure the quality control department doesnt really exist and it's a way to get off the phone. Needless to say it's been several months of trying to get quality control to the house and to date have not received a call back after probably 10 messages over several months. On top of this the seal coat started coming up after driving on it 4 days after install. I would recommend staying as far away from this company as possible.

This company is a scam! Scott Greengburg sent me an email threatening to trespass and “rip out” the driveway they installed. I have been suing this company for 4 years and have spent almost $60,000.00 over a $2300.00 driveway. The city of Palatine ILL was refusing to approve the installation and wanted to do a second inspection. This was about a 2 week delay. I had already paid them 1,300.00 up front leaving $1000.00 once Palatine approved the driveway. Scott went nuts and was calling almost every day making threats and telling me he didn’t care if Palatine approved the driveway, he demanded payment even if Palatine didn’t approve it. They did this knowing my mother was in the hospital and couldn’t stop these lunatics. Over the last 4 years I have paid almost $60,000.00 over a $2,300.00 driveway. Kaplin just made an offer to pay me $3,000.00 which I rejected! My lawyer tried to accept the agreement without my approval, and I fired him on 7-26-23 he said he was going to go to court and officially quit, but instead of quitting he decided to get a continuance. He thinks he is going back to court on 8-08-23. My scum bag lawyer also illegally accessed my facebook account and removed the negative review I made about kaplin 4 years ago.

I went to my mother’s house the same day the driveway was finally approved by Palatine, only to find it sliced up and badly damaged. At that time, I had already paid them the last $1000.00 and they had received it just a few hours earlier. I immediately called the Palatine police and made a report on what Kapliln did to my mother’s new driveway.
