Debit card fraud
My debit card was used three times today by Just Eat. I do not use and have never used just eat. I have not got an account or have ever had an account with just eat. The amounts of £14.40, £25.45 and £20.43 were the transactions that are on my bank statement. This all happened within minutes of each other. These are payment pending could you please stop them from going through. Thank you
Desired outcome: No payment taken
Order not delivered and lack of refund
I made an order for my family of McDonald's breakfast with Just Eat, and was charged a £3.50 delivery charge paying a total of £15.34. The Just Eat courier failed to deliver the complete order which should have contained 7 items, and turned up with only an ice cream priced 99p. Essentially I have paid £15 for an ice cream!
When reaching out to resolve the matter, the Just Eat representative initially answered and then left the chat instead of responding to my messages. I then had to speak to what seemed to be an automated chatbot re-explaining the issue. When I got to speak to an actual person on the messenger feature, Just Eat sent me on a wild goose chase with the restaurant and refused my request to refund the full amount, only offering partial account credit because of 'policy'.
JustEat took no responsibility for the mistake and after sending a few copy and pasted platitudes, suggested I contact the restaurant to 'request a new driver'; when I contacted the restaurant they stated that this is not an option that exists on their Just Eat application.
I have been charged for the delivery of items that were not delivered, yet told Just Eat's 'system cannot process the delivery charge.'
It may seem a small amount but in a pandemic where lack of work has decimated my income, I cannot afford to pay for a service and goods to feed my family that I then do not receive.
The offer of account credit is as good as useless as Just Eat give no reassurance that any future orders will not be susceptible to the same mistake. The account credit also does not include or apply to delivery meaning this is not a true refund, in addition to the inconvenience I will have to pay more on a second order.
I am writing requesting JustEat to process a refund for the full amount, to be debited back into my bank account. I strongly advise against ordering with Just Eat, be warned they have a very impersonal and disappointing approach to handling customer service!
Non delivery
An order was placed by myself 13/08/20 from Creams in Telford,
I received a message to say order delivered which absolutely was not the case.
I rang and was put on hold then cut off.
I used the chat and again was not helped just told I would have to wait up to 48 hours!
I rang again and spoke to another agent who basically inferred they would check with driver as to whether I was telling the truth.
I have still not heard anything despite being told it would be marked as a priority.
I spoke to Creams who said I was not the only person to complain last night and they will be filing a complaint also.
All they had to do was contact the driver who they must know which one, and get him to describe where he allegedly left the order as my house is distinctive. But they decided it was easier to leave us with no oreder or refund.
No refund
Where is my refund? What a rip off company. After odering food from Aroma Indian takeaway wrexham on the 16/7/20 ID [protected]. Ordered a pre order at 3.30. Due to going to work at 6. First delivery time 5.15 Second delivery time 5.30 THIRD delivery time 5.55 to late. Phoned Aroma to cancel to find their phone had been cut off. Not contactable not my fault. After finaly getting in touch with a live person and not a bot. Was told my food would be canceled but I would only be getting back 50% of my money because I did not cancel in time and my food had been made. It wouldent have been made if they had a working phone. What a joke. And still havent recieved the 50% refund. RIP OFF
fraud
Hi i have just been reviewing my online banking and come accross a transaction made to Just Eat Londonn GBR on the 11th Feb 2020 which i am un-aware of and do not use just eat at all. I have previously reprted an un-authorised payement to Just Eat London GBR the same as this one in Feb but for £22.42 i raised the issue with my bank back in Dec where my bank then cancelled my card so i am really confussed as to where and how my new bank card details have again been used. I have just had to ring my bank again to cancel and block my card but i am still not certain this will stop funds being taken without my concent from this same place as i this now is the second time. I 100% do not used just eat therefore 100% know that this is fraudulent activity on my account and demand a refund and for there to be a visa dispute case to be opened and looked into, i will be raising this issue to the fraud team police and expect to be notified as to where these orders have been placed to. Please could someone contact me in regards to this issue as a matter if urgency.
Hi. My partner had the same situation this month. We do use "Just eat" app, but that day we didn't order anything and for this price (£23.49).
As he contacted "Just eat" they only advised to contact bank. Bank adviced contact back "Just eat", looks like no one is interested in this problem.
"Just eat" advised to report it to actionfraud.police.uk and now we are waiting for a respond.
It's really unfair and concerning
someone has committed fraud on my card and ordered food without my knowledge or consent request for refund
Hello
I am sleep and live in London. I have received a phone call from a delivery driver telling me I'm at the Marriot Hotel in Norwich! I am in London how on earth has someone ordered food when me and my husband are in London. I am disgusted Just Eat do not have adequate online security to prevent fraud on my card! I do not know the name of takeaway company . However I have been asleep I only woke to visit the toilet and saw a message about a delivery from Norwich Pizza & Kebab order being on its way. I ignored it at first thinking it must be a message sent in error but then i am woken up by a takeaway driver saying he is outside the Marriot Hotel and my food is here. Firstly i said what hotel I am in London in my home asleep. He told me it cost £20.30 you need to refund my card asap! The police and fraud investigation will be contacting you! Once refunded I need my card details removed from your website asap. Please can someone contact me in writing on:

fraudulent use of my debit card.
Over the past year my debit card has been used in 62 fraudulant, unautorised transactions with Just Eat.
The total that I have lost is £1034.41 - on occasions there were up to five individual transactions carried out in a single day.
I have attemped to report this to Just Eat over the phone, but was told to 'take it up with your bank'. The person on the phone showed no interest and made no attempt to investigate the matter.
I am seeking a refund of £1034.41 along with compensation.
I have a spreadsheet detailing the dates and amounts concerned in each transaction which cannot be uploaded to this site, which I am happy to forward via email.
I intend to report the matter to the police for further investigation.
fraud
I've have just had to reclaim £170 from my bank as my card was fraudulently used on your site to order food. I am certain that this wasn't me as I was in hospital at the time of the purchases. The amount was spent over a period of several days.
I am furious that someone was able to access my card details on your site. We trust that you are careful with our details and that we can use your site with trust.
As a result, I have deleted my card details from my account and don't think I'll ever be able to use your site again.
I am appalled at this situation, as I had to sort it all out from my hospital bed, having just had an operation. It was extremely stressful.
Please acknowledge receipt of this email and advise me as to how you plan to address this breach of my trust and security

Our team will also be investigating this and sending an update via the email address you've provided.
Many thanks,

I have had the exact same thing happen to me very recently but not to such an extreme- card was used to buy 67.50 worth of food! I hope Just Eat aren't going to be ridiculous and refuse to tell me the address to which the order was delivered, given that I paid for the greedy losers to eat it! I don't recall ever having ordered takeaway from here anyway, very strange. I hope you managed to resolve the issue.
just-eat will steal your card details, save yourself the stress and order takeaway elsewhere
Hi,
in the past 4 months I have had my card cancelled twice by my bank due to someone attempting use my card details online. This has left me without a bank card for over a week at a time, which is a grave inconvenience. I just assessed my bank statements, and both times my card details were stolen I had just used my card on Just-Eat. These were the only 2 times I used my card, I usually use cash with takeaways (for good reason clearly!). Just-Eat was the only common purchase on both dates my card details were stolen, and it was clearly the same person stealing my money since the items they attempted to buy online were the same both times (both times they attempted to spend over 200 pounds on Tesco's website).
Thus, I have concluded that your website has swiped my card details both times and I AM NOT HAPPY (AND NO I WILL NOT BE POLITE BECAUSE YOUR WEBSITE IS EITHER RAN BY SOME DODGY PEOPLE OR IT IS A DODGY, NON-SECURE WEBSITE). I will be putting in a more formal complaint to the police, with my bank statements that prove this fraud. You either need to step up your website security, or you need to take a closer look at your employees.
The dates of fraud were Tuesday 14th of Feb and Tuesday 23rd May. And if you had not guessed, I will never use this corrupt website ever again, and will be giving some very tell-all reviews on whatever website I can. You can't really do anything for me, I just wanted to let you know that I have clocked onto your crooked ways and you will NOT be getting away with this.
Hi Max,
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know this has happened, we're sorry to hear that you've been a victim of fraud.
Here at Just Eat, we take the safeguarding of customer data extremely seriously. Protecting our brand and our customers from online fraud is of utmost importance to us.
We have a dedicated information security team and we do not store customer card details on our website or app and all payments are managed securely by an independent, external payment service provider.
We understand that your bank have already been in touch, and we'd like to investigate from our side. Please do send the details to social.uk@just-eat.co.uk so we can do so.
I discovered hundreds of euro taken from my [irish] bank account by justeat.co.uk., angry is an understatement! and iv never even used this excuse for website or whatever it is! its disgusting to think someone can do this., thankfully i have friend in fraud squad here in Ireland so Im pretty sure I will get answers Im looking for, .
take your money and cancel order
On 2 occasions now just eat have take money and the order has been cancelled, this is such a problem that there customer line, is press one if your order has been cancelled. Take aways and just eat are taking peoples money, it amounts to theft in my eyes. It is almost impossible to find there number so if you have a complaint and the time its
[protected]. It takes 7 days to recredit your account!
I hope this company make serious changes in the customer favour soon or they will go under.
crap site, i'll never use it again
I ordered food from Curry Corner, Hammersmith, paid by card and told it'll be delievered. Then got a call and was told the resturant was too busy to make my order but the money will be out back right away. It never was. I spoke to someone online who said wait 5 working days, I did, nothing. I spoke to another person on the phone who said wait 7 working days, I did, nothing. The last person said they don't do refunds and I would have to wait 30 WORKING DAYS! Crap site, I'll never use it again.
no refund
I used to use this site quite frequently until my last order. I ordered from a restaurant that was showing as delivering to my address, which is only about 20 minutes away.
After around 30 minutes I got a phone call saying that the order had been cancelled due to the driver had broken down and can't deliver to me. I was told that I'd be due a refund after 7 working days. 7 working days later, no refund, contacted them again and told refund would be processed in another 7 working days due "something went wrong with the system", I agreed and waited another 2 weeks to be processed, no refund... I contacted them back trying to stay as calm as possible asking when I would be refunding. I was told this wasn't their fault and it could take 30 working days!
I contacted 2 weeks later and got a reply that basically moved the problem from Just-Eat to my bank stating it was their fault... It wasn't, my bank made this clear to me. I was then told to wait another 30 working days.
IT'S NOW 47 WORKING DAYS SINCE LAST CONTACT. GUESS WHAT? NO REFUND
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
take your money from your card
Take your money from your card, then say don't deliver to the area, this happened twice in one night and i had two payments of £14.50 taken out my account, they rang me when i went on live cht and gave me a voucher code for the amount but that didnt work so they took another £14.50 out my bank, this is a scam and i would tell anyone to stay away.
this is a scam and I would tell anyone to stay away

20 % off youre take away for the day 28/05/16 ok sounds good think Il order got to the discount box typed in the code and suprise suprise the code dont even exist good way to attract more customers false advertising and scamming!
When you go on to just eat they ask you to enter your postcode so that they can find restaurants that are in your radius. Tonight we placed an order of a restaurant to be emailed 15 minutes later stating that we were out of the restaurants radius. If this is the case why put that restaurant as an option, also the restaurant states it has a 5 mile delivery radius and we live less than 5 miles away. Also they take your payment straight away but state in the email cancelling your order that it Will take 7 days to refund your payment. We have recently found out that this happened to another family member 2 days ago. As regular users of just eat we are very disappointed with their service and Will not recommend them to anyone ever again
I SEE JUST-EAT AGAIN BACKING THE RUBBISH TAKEAWAYS TO GAIN PROFIT RATHER THAN THINK OF CONSUMER SAFETY . THEY SEEM TO THINK THEY OWN YOUR RESTERAUNT /TAKEAWAY BY CONVEYING MESSAGES SAYING ( IF YOU REJECT ANY ORDERS ON CERTAIN NIGHTS THEY WILL CLOSE YOU DOWN ON THE JUST-EAT SITE FOR THAT EVENING ... WELL JUST-EAT ! SOMETIMES WE ARE TO BUSY TO TAKE YOUR ORDERS AS CUSTOMERS ENJOY THE ADVANTAGE OF GETTING 10% OFF ON OTHER ORDERING SOURCES ON-LINE . IT PROVES THAT JUST EAT ARE VERY GREEDY THAT THEY TELL US WE ARE BREACHING THEIR RULES BY GIVING CUSTOMERS A MENU TO CALL US DIRECTLY TO ORDER AND THEY WANT TO MAKE OUR MENU`S WITH THEIR LOGO . MMMM SPONSORSHIP SPRINGS TO MIND HOW ABOUT YOU DO THE MENU`S FOR FREE AS AS AGAIN THEY ARE ONLY DESIGNED FOR YOUR GAIN, PLUS THEY TELL US THAT THEY CAN NOT ADVERTISE THE FACT WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER 10% OFF AS JUST-EATS POLICY IS IT STARTS FROM 20% OFF ...WHOSE BUSINESS IS IT ? YOURS OR MINE ? ANYWAY JUST-EAT ! HERES A CUTTING FROM A LOCAL PAPER OF THE TAKEAWAY YOU ARE PROMOTING . WITH THEIR SELF WRITTEN REVIEWS YOU SEEM TO OVERLOOK THAT THE NAMES ARE FICTICIOUS AND IM SURE THAT ANYONE ELSE WHO LOOKS WOULD AGREE ... THE FULL STORY CAN BE READ ON INTERNET ( CHINA CHEF FINED £15, 000 )
fraudulent use of my bank card
This retailer delivered three separate orders to someone fraudulently using my card details. This should not be possible as the delivery address should always be the same as the address to which the card is registered - this is a blatant failure on the part of the company, and cost me a total of £113. When I contacted them they showed very little interest or concern, and simply told me to take it up with my bank. They took no interest in the question of how such a security leak might have happened on their site, not the fact that it could happen to any customer if it's happened to one. I for one will never be using them again, not just because of the fraud they have facilitated but also because of their complete failure in terms of customer service, for me and the other customers who will likely be similarly outraged when they get ripped off too.
My wife has just seen her bank statement for last 2 months. Over £200 been spent with just eat, but not by her. Strange thing is she has never paid for a takeaway from just eat. All purchases were in London, we live in Devon. Has been reported to her bank who will refund the money.
I have had my card compromised twice in as many months and the only connection is Just Eat. I have now deleted my account and will not be using them again. Lloyds have told me that Just Eat is a security risk.
Just eat took money from my account twice last night while I was working nightshift. I received my new bank card in the post this morning. I’m guessing this is not just coincidence.
Bank staff are a possible leak.
I had just eat take money from my account last night while working nightshift.
This morning I received my new card from virgin money in the post. I’m thinking this is not a coincidence.
This happened to me but I don't think it is a security leak from Just Eats or their app. I live in the United States, do not have an app or account with Just Eats, and have never eaten at this place. There were five attempts just yesterday for use and the final one for $109 was allowed to go through by Just Eats. My credit union notified me right away and when I confirmed there was no way anyone could have my card or was authorized to use my card, they froze my card and are refunding my money. (Note the difference between banks and credit unions). It seems that Just Eats may be laundering money for stolen card numbers. I hope someone is looking into their criminal actions! At the minimum, they are complicit in criminality and fraud!
This happened to me. Someone over 100 miles away ordered over £30 of food using my stored card details. Not only was the difference of address not flagged up but they must've made numerous attempts to guess my card security code which has 999 different possibilities. Just Eat allowed this to happen and when I reported to my bank's fraud department and cancelled my card and received a refund, my whole address was swiftly banned from ordering from Just Eat at all, whether paying by cash or card - the cheek of it!
I live in Orkney we don’t have just eat unless you take a 2 hour ferry then 4 hour train. Have just cancelled my card
This has literally just happened to me to! Never again will i be using just eat, it's obviously a leak through just eat, as my card is new and not been used in a cash point for any kind of cloning. You need the 3 digit code from the back to order. Seems Just Eat has a data issue
Same happened to me , I phoned the restaurant to tell them not to deliver the food and they put the phone down on me
… emailed just eat who said I’m the victim of card fraud - so how is the order on MY JUST EAT ACCOUNT , lol they’re being completely ignorant to the fact their app is being hacked !
I have had the same happen today and have spoken to the restaurant who advised this keeps happening the last two weeks. The order was made 2 hours away from my home address. No direct number to just eat to stop the delivery either.
Reported to action fraud, 101 and bank.
I've had the exact same experience. Thankfully it was only£30 and I noticed just an hour after the order so cancelled my card and just eat account.
2 weeks later still no refund
I used this site quite a few times until my last experience - i ordered on a cold, icy night from a restaurant that was showing as delivering to my address, which is on a main route. about an hour later, no food! i contact the restaurant who informed me that they had contact just-eat to inform them they were unable to order and had refunded my payment. contacted just-eat to be told they were very sorry, and would organise my refund immediately. 2 weeks later, no refund, contacted them again and told refund would be processed immdeiately. This continued for several weeks until I gave up! awful site!
i ordered 2 burgers the driver phoned me couldnt find the address so i didnt gt my meal i want a refund

Still waiting on refund - disgusting !
They refuse point blank to refund me my missing item! It’s not the first time they won’t, absolute joke of a service, I’ve had better customer service off a pile of turd! How are they allowed to get away with this?!?
I was a very frequent user of just eat but it seems that my loyal custom does not matter.
After being charged for and not receiving items, reporting via the app and then being completely ignored has led me to no longer use this service.
Stay away from just eat, they just want your money, they don't give 2 fuc£$ about you.
Three payments taken at a cost of £180.00 when I was actually out of the country . 22/05/2023 & 23/05/2023 . This has left me extremely vulnerable and in a financially precarious position - unable to pay my mortgage . This money needs to be returned immediately
The wrong food was delivered. I provided photos of the bag with the wrong order and receipt but they will not provide a refund as I did not take photos of the food.
I also reordered the food straight away.
I asked them for a copy of their T + C and no where does it state I have to take photos of the food
Got a delivery few days ago got the wrong order told just eat .had my original receipt and receipt from the wrong order showed just eat they never issued me a return said not enough evidence
Ordered food at 1936. Still waiting and it's now 2115. Still no food. Called restaurant and was told they are coming.
I am trying to order via Just Eat from Jeera Indian Frimley Green . (GU16)
The menu online is incomplete and it is not possible to order except direct with them (and costing more).
Menu stops half way through 'traditional' and never gets to the end.
